The aim of the present study was to examine tapping synchronization in children with and without Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Participants were 27 children from which 13 diagnosed with motor difficulties composed the DCD group and 14 children with typical development (TD) the comparison group. The experimental task consisted of performing 25 continuous tapping on a surface of an electronic drum with the preferred hand. Participants were required to tap in synchrony with an auditory bip generated by customized software. Three interval values the tapping task were tested: 470 ms, 1000 ms, 1530 ms. The dependent variables were constant error (CE) and absolute error (AE) and standard deviation of absolute error (SD of AE). The ANOVA 2 x 3 x 3 (Group X Age x Interval) with repeated measures in the last factor for the CE indicated significant interaction among Group X Age X Interval. For the AE and SD of AE the ANOVAs yielded significant main effect of Interval and a significant interaction between Group X Interval. The results of the present study indicated that children with DCD were less accurate and more variable in the tapping synchronization than children with TD. Differences in performance between DCD and children with TD become larger as the interval of the auditory signal increases.

It is known that gymnastics and sports, for the most part, were made by men for men, and its practice was almost exclusively for males, especially until the First World War. Vestiges of this strong male influence in sports still remain to this day, especially in leadership positions. It is clear that most sports, both male and female, are mostly coached by men. Thus, this study aimed to examine, through quantiqualitative research, the number of women and men who lead male and female volleyball, basketball and soccer elite teams, participating in the most important national championships, and the number of men and women graduated in physical education courses in Brazil in order to check a possible relationship between the low number of women working as a coach and the percentage of women graduated in physical education. For the acquisition of data, Internet searches were made on the sites of confederations, leagues and sports leagues selected for the study, and on the site of the National Institute of Educational Studies Anísio Teixeira (INEP). It was identified that the total number of graduates from 1995 to 2008 was 192,707, with 99,869 men and 92,838 women, showing a balance between these numbers, which did not happen with the numbers of male and female coaches. The data indicated that no women worked as a coach in male and female volleyball teams in the seasons 2006 to 2010, no woman worked as a coach in the male basketball teams in the seasons from 2000 to 2010, and only an average of 1.67 women led female basketball teams in the seasons 1998 to 2010, and no woman has ever worked as a coach for male soccer teams, while only an average of 2.67 women acted as a coach of female soccer teams. O joelho, por suas características anatômicas e freqüente instabilidade e exposição as lesões tem o quadríceps como importante músculo a ser desenvolvido quanto ao seu trofismo e força. Composto de quatro porções distintas estas podem gerar diferentes vetores de força que podem ter relações diretas com o recrutamento de unidades motoras. O posicionamento articular, a conseqüente modificação do comprimento muscular e a intensidade da contração podem influenciar o desenvolvimento da força do quadríceps. Dentre as contrações relacionadas ao maior recrutamento de unidades motoras com o intuito do desenvolvimento de força está a contração isométrica. Dentre as contrações musculares, as isométricas têm sido frequentemente indicadas para aumentar a força e estabilidade articular em sessões de treinamento e reabilitação. Pelo exposto, o objetivo do estudo foi analisar os músculos vasto medial (VM) e vasto lateral (VL) por meio da eletromiografia de superfície durante 15s de contração isométrica a 20%, 30%, 40% e 50% da contração isométrica voluntária máxima – CIVM com o joelho a 90 graus. Foram utilizados eletrodos de superfície bipolar de Ag/AgCl, posicionados nos músculos VM e VL, um módulo de aquisição de sinais biológicos (Lynx) calibrado com ganho de 1000vezes, filtro de passa alta de 20Hz e de passa baixa de 500Hz. Uma célula de carga foi acoplada perpendicularmente à cadeira de teste especialmente desenvolvida para o estudo e utilizado uma indicador digital para retorno visual. Na análise estatística utilizou-se teste de Friedman e teste de Wilcoxon, e adotou-se nível de significância de p<0,05. Verificou-se que os músculos VM e VL foram semelhantes entre si, e entre as cargas, houve diferença significante entre as cargas de 20% e 40%, 20% e 50%, e 30% e 50% para ambos os músculos, com maior atividade nas cargas de 40% e 50% CVM... The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of previous active static stretch on the isometric peak torque (PT) and rate of force development (RFD) measured from different time intervals from the beginning of muscle contraction. Participated of this study 15 male individuals, apparently healthy, with ages between 18 and 25 years, without regular physical activity practice. The individuals were submitted in different days to the following tests: 1) Familiarization session to the isokinetic dynamometer; 2) Two maximal isometric concentric contractions for knee extensors in isokinetic dynamometer to determine PT and RFD (Control), and; 3) Two active static stretching exercises for the dominant leg extensors (10 x 30 s for each exercise, with 20 s of rest). After the stretching, the isokinetic test was repeated (Post-Stretching). The conditions 2 and 3 were performed in random order. The RFD was considered as the mean slope of the moment-time curve at time intervals of 0-30, 0-50 and 0-100ms relative to the beginning of muscle contraction. It was verified significant reduction for both maximal RFD and PT after the stretching (p < 0.05). At intervals of 0- 30ms, 0-50ms and 0-100ms, the RFD at the conditions with stretching was similar to the RFD without stretching (p > 0.05). At intervals of 0-150ms and 0-200ms, the RFD obtained at the contraction without stretching was significantly higher that that obtained at the contraction with stretching (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that the static stretching, performed with duration of 600 s diminish isometric PT, maximal RFD and RFD measured at late phase (> 100 ms) of muscle contraction.

The objective of the present study was to compare the effects of a high speed isokinetic training (180°.s-1) and an isometric training (75°) on the maximum rate of force development (RFDmax) measured in the isokinetic and isometric modes. Twenty seven male non active subjects participated of this study (Mean + SD = body mass 78.6 + 14.1 kg; stature 175.1 + 8.9 cm; age 22.6 + 3.8 years). They were randomly divided into three groups: Control (GC); Isokinetic training (GISOC) and; Isometric training (GISOM). The subjects were submitted in different days to the following pre training protocols: 1) Familiarization to the isokinetic dynamometer tests; 2) Five maximum concentric isokinetic contractions of the knee extensors (180°.s-1) to access the maximum concentric torque (TMC) and the concentric RFDmax; 3) Two maximum isometric contractions of the knee extensors (75°) to access the maximum isometric torque (TMI) and the isometric RFDmax. The same tests were repeated after the training period, but without the familiarization session. Eighteen training sessions were performed (3 times per week). The GISOC performed the entire training whit concentric isokinetic contractions whit the speed of 180°.s-1. The GISOM performed the entire training whit isometric contractions whit the angle between the thigh end the leg being 75° (0° = full knee extension). TMI, TMC, concentric RFDmax, isometric RFDmax values of the GC was not different between pre and post training. GISOM increased only the TMI and the GSIOC increased the TMC, concentric RFDmax and isometric RFDmax. Furthermore, the GISOC had a higher percentage increase of the isometric RFDmax than the isokinetic RFDmax. Based on these results, it is possible to conclude that the increase in maximum strength corresponded to the training specificity theory, unlike to the RFDmax. The cross-cutting themes, which are characteristic express concepts and values of citizenship and correspond to important and urgent issues to society, should be treated within the school context , for all disciplines . Just like football, specific content of physical education, which most often is approached only by the technical and tactical aspects. The aim of this study was to analyze football from the perspective of labor and consumption and to propose activities for teachers to this content and theme in physical education classes. We investigated, in particular, the influence brands, media and the effect of the globalization phenomenon in this sport, and later thematic activities. The methodology used was qualitative type, which is from a thick description of the details about the situation analyzed and evaluated. In the first step a literature survey was conducted to understand and analyze the topic of this work. In the second, the activities were prepared, with the teacher ways to treat football from the perspective of labor and consumption from the themes presented in the goal. The activities were directed to students in the 9th grade of elementary school. It is expected that with the study, football can be see addition to the procedural dimension in class and the teacher values the critical training, and labor relations and consumption Football and any other content of school physical education. Activities that assist teachers in their future projects, jobs and classes. It is also hoped that the sport can be studied and understood both historically and critically in Brazil, the football country

Mood States are feelings auto regulation deliver to individual better quality of life and healthy aging. The declines of the aging process can be minimized with the regular practice of physical activity and systematized. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of a dance program in mood states, depressive symptoms and functional capacity in elderly participants of PROFIT. METHOD: The sample was composed of 20 elderly people. The Training Group was formed by 15 elders who participated in a protocol of dance with duration of 1 hour, three times per week, for 12 weeks and the Control Group, composed of 5 elderly, did not attend any program of physical activity. The participants were evaluated by the List of States of Mind Reduced and Illustrated, Geriatric Depression Scale and the battery of tests of AAHPERD. For the mood states was used non-parametric analysis, according to the technique of Binomial Analysis. To compare the components of functional capacity between the groups was used analysis of variance for repeated measures two-way ANOVA and the level of significance was set at 5 %. RESULTS: The functional components remained favorable, highlighting Agility (pre = 21.03 ± 1.64 sec./ post = 18.63 ± 2.26 sec.) And aerobic endurance (pre = 495.94 ± 46.48 sec. / post = 448.01 ± 12.27 sec.). In the comparison between positive and negative functional levels and mood states showed no relationship between these variables, dealing with different aspects and has influence one another. The state post-dancing sessions mood in GT were more positive even for elderly patients with depressive symptoms even unproven statistically, depressive symptoms were maintained or reduced mostly. CONCLUSION: The dance practice maintains the functionality of components; modifies mood states to positive levels and reduces or prevents the onset of depressive symptoms and complications in elderly

The Brazilian population needs of practicing exercises increases every day by the health or pleasure results of it. But although conventional options of physical activities are more popular and easier to find out wherever you go, alternative ways of exercising yourself and unconscious and indirect ways to obtain wellness and health are increasing its popularity nowadays. One example of it is the circus classes inside the gyms, where people have fun during intense body working, while get in shape and relax them mind, getting all the benefits like any other conventional physical activity does. Thinking about the increasing teaching of circus arts like a new option of physical activity and leisure to the Sao Paulo citizens inside its bigger gyms, this study founded out how and why these classes were offered there and the reasons of the people interests and maintenance of them practice in this kind of classes.

As atividades de aventura na natureza surgem com objetivo de atender aos interesses pelo ar puro, pela ginástica na natureza de uma sociedade influenciada pelo modelo higienista. Esportes na natureza de caráter aventureiro começam então a ser praticados especialmente em países ‘desenvolvidos’. Fatores motivacionais, a necessidade de fuga do cotidiano, a busca por novas sensações e o avanço tecnológico possibilitou a melhoria na qualidade de equipamentos utilizados para segurança e contribuíram para a ampliação do mercado das atividades de aventura na natureza. Além disso, a grande quantidade de locais naturais como praias, montanhas, chapadas, matas, cerrados, cavernas, permite que este mercado, de caráter turístico, se expanda pelo Brasil. Mesmo com este crescimento, os estudos envolvendo o mercado das atividades de aventura são poucos e ainda, esparsos, merecendo maior atenção. Este estudo, de natureza qualitativa, tem por objetivo investigar o ramo de mercado referente às atividades de aventura da cidade de Brotas-SP, procurando compreender os fatores de crescimento destas práticas do contexto do lazer e as principais características das adaptações exigidas para atender a atual demanda. Para tanto, o estudo constitui-se da união da pesquisa bibliográfica e pesquisa de campo, que será realizada por meio da aplicação de uma entrevista, realizada com uma amostra intencional de proprietários das empresas de atividades de aventura da cidade de Brotas-SP, que, prontamente, se dispuseram a responder à entrevista. Studies on stress in the sport are broad and profound. However, we do not found approach to study the perceptions of trainers on the subject and how it influences the organization of training throughout the season. From this premise, the aim of this work is to verify that the perception of the trainer about stress and its influence on planning. To this end, we chose a qualitative research, through an open interview, carried out with a trainer for a professional soccer team as a pilot for future studies. The interview responses are consistent with the findings of the literature on the changes in the players arising from the interference of stress in the various dimensions. But it was also possible to identify the trainer interviewed pointed out that stress, especially during the competition changes the preliminary planning, therefore, modify the activities to be applied to players depending on the outcome of matches. This pilot study we subsidized the development of new questions that will be inserted in the continuity of the study

Nos idosos, o andar tem sido associado com a preservação das funções cognitivas. Entretanto, pacientes com Demência de Alzheimer (DA), apresentam modulações durante o andar, decorrente das disfunções no lobo frontal, principalmente no córtex motor e declínio nas funções executivas. Contudo, a marcha de idosos com DA pode ser mais vulnerável na presença de uma tarefa dupla, pois esses idosos apresentam déficits nas ações que exigem planejamento, atenção e ajustes motores. Desse modo, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar no paradigma da tarefa dupla os valores médios das variáveis espaciais e temporais do andar de pacientes com DA. A amostra do estudo foi composta por 19 idosos com DA, sendo 14 mulheres e 5 homens. Os pacientes com DA realizaram 5 tentativas das seguintes tarefas: andar livre sem tarefa dupla e andar livre com tarefa dupla. A tarefa dupla realizada pelos pacientes foi uma contagem regressiva iniciando do número vinte. As variáveis espaço-temporais foram coletadas através de um sistema optoeletrônico de análise do movimento. As variáveis analisadas foram comprimento da passada, largura do passo, duração da fase de suporte simples e duplo suporte, duração da passada e velocidade da passada. Para verificar as diferenças entre as condições experimentais no andar livre foi utilizado o teste t de Student pareado (p<0,05) com fator para tarefa. O teste t pareado revelou efeito da tarefa no comprimento da passada, largura do passo, suporte simples, duplo suporte, duração da passada e velocidade da passada. Os pacientes reduziram o comprimento e a velocidade da passada e aumentaram a largura do passo e as durações do suporte simples, duplo suporte e da passada na condição marcha livre com contagem em comparação com a marcha livre sem contagem. O presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar a fadiga muscular por meio da amplitude e freqüência do sinal eletromiográfico (EMG) do músculo vasto lateral (VL) e reto femoral (RF) do membro inferior direito, durante protocolo incremental de corrida em esteira e nas contrações isométricas submáximas realizadas no início e após cada velocidade. Participaram deste estudo 07 voluntários saudáveis, do gênero masculino, experientes em corrida na esteira, com idade média de 25 anos (± 4,3), sem antecedentes de doenças músculo-esqueléticas nos membros inferiores e de antropometria semelhante. Foram realizadas três contrações isométricas voluntárias máximas (CIVM = 100%) de extensão do joelho para posterior determinação da contração submáxima de 50% da CIVM (CI-50%). O protocolo de corrida foi composto de um aquecimento de 5 minutos (9 km/h), e após iniciou-se o teste com velocidade inicial de 10 km/h e incremento de 1 km/h a cada 3 minutos, até a exaustão voluntária, havendo uma pausa entre cada velocidade de aproximadamente 2 minutos. Antes do início da corrida e após cada velocidade realizou-se uma contração isométrica com 50% da CIVM (CI-50%) de 5s de duração. No sinal eletromiográfico coletado durante a corrida, os valores de RMS (Root Mean Square) dos músculos VL e RF foram obtidos no período correspondente a um ciclo completo da passada a 10% e 100% do tempo analisado (120 segundos finais de cada velocidade) por meio de rotina específica (Matlab). No sinal eletromiográfico coletado durante as CI-50% (5s), os valores de RMS e FM (freqüência mediana) foram obtidos no período de 1s (intervalo de 1 a 2s). A normalidade dos dados foi determinada através do teste de Shapiro-Wilk. Utilizou-se teste-t de Student para amostras pareadas, e o nível de significância (p) adotado foi de p<0,05. As atividades de recreação e lazer podem apresentar um alto teor educativo, sendo coadjuvantes importantes no processo educacional, entretanto, torna-se necessária a atuação de um profissional competente, o qual possa estar consciente de suas funções e ações, inclusive, quando lida em ambiente não-formal de educação, como é o caso dos acampamentos, vivenciados nos momentos destinados ao lazer. Este estudo de natureza qualitativa teve por objetivo investigar, na visão dos próprios profissionais da recreação atuantes em acampamentos educacionais, como eles percebem seu papel como educador e como contribuem na formação sociocultural dos acampantes. O trabalho desenvolveuse em duas etapas, a primeira com uma revisão de literatura acerca do tema e a segunda com uma pesquisa exploratória, utilizando-se como instrumento um questionário contendo perguntas abertas e fechadas. A amostra foi composta por 27 participantes, de ambos os sexos, com idade média de 22 anos e 6 meses, de diferentes níveis socioeconômicos e com envolvimento na atividade há mais de um ano. Os dados coletados foram analisados descritivamente, utilizando-se a técnica de Análise de Conteúdo e indicam que todos os sujeitos do estudo, acreditam contribuir efetivamente para mudanças positivas de conduta dos acampantes e em sua formação sociocultural. Esses profissionais são, portanto, conscientes de sua função educativa, entretanto, apontaram a necessidade de se envolverem com este propósito, buscando as melhores estratégias para o fim educacional, sem perder as peculiaridades do ambiente lúdico. A partir disto, conclui-se que experiências significativas no âmbito do lazer, como as dos acampamentos educacionais, são capazes de contribuir em aspectos educacionais e socioculturais, por meio da atuação de um recreador competente
