A Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de São José do Rio Preto no período de 1957 a 1964: estudo de uma instituição escolar

According to the existing literature, the FFCL of São José do Rio Preto had a pioneering role as regards the organization and management of higher education. This article aims to discuss the originality/innovativeness of the educational project of this institution in the period from 1957 to 1964, based on an analysis of departmental organization and student participation. In order to do so, we use documents about the creation process of the FFCL, reports of courses, and minutes of departmental meetings and of the Academic Philosophical Center. The results show that, indeed, this institution was organized in three departments, though these operated in consonance with the chair system. Student participation varied from equal representation to the representation of a single student per class. Thus, the results show that the innovative/revolutionary character of this institution was exaggerated in the existing literature and may have contributed to the existing “mysticism” in the city as regards the history and the importance of this institution.

Na literatura da área de Ensino de Física encontramos diversos argumentos em defesa da inclusão, nos currículos escolares do Ensino Médio, de conteúdos de Física Moderna e Contemporânea. This paper presents reflections on a survey on the participation of women seated in the Food Acquisition Program in the city of Wenceslas President / SP. From discussion of the issue of gender in the Brazilian countryside and along the beneficiary populations of land reform policies, evaluates the invisibility of the economic contribution of women - with generally restricted operations to the care of household activities and production for self - which is changing both due to the mobilization of women as the different public policies implemented in the last decade. One of these, the Food Acquisition Program (PAA) is analyzed in its operation. Although not gestated for this specific purpose, this program has contributed to the visibility of women's productive work in the settlements. The research was made through the verification of female participation in the mandatory documents for inclusion in the EAP, revealing a percentage that over ix the years has been superimposed, making women acquire economic autonomy and even in a limited way conquering empowerment

Memórias subterrâneas, histórias (re) visitadas: a contribuição metodologia da história oral em estudos de grupos étnicos

This article aims to reflect on the contribution of oral history in studies involving memory and identity of ethnic groups. Problematic issues here are part of the result of two recently completed researches, which consisted of reconstructing the memory of Afro-Brazilians from the methodology of oral history. These surveys were intended to transpose, into written language, memories transmitted by oral tradition and which was confined to family circles. The first was to investigate the process of identification and transmission of knowledge from a black cultural practice in the countryside of São Paulo (Piracicaba, Capivari, and Tietê), the Batuque of Umbigada, and the second to reconstruct the stories and culture of Afro-Brazilians in the city of Itu, São Paulo.

As avaliações externas e suas implicações para a organização do trabalho numa escola da rede estadual paulista: um estudo de caso

This research analyses the positives and/or negatives of external reviews to work's organization developed at the/and by the school. It should be noted that it's a qualitative case of empirical research, and it takes the pattern of case's study, because we held the investigation just in one school, which in turn, belongs to the education's public network by the state, and is located at the São Paulo northwest. The tools employed at this research for the data's collect were the observation, restricted to times of Pedagogical Work Activities Collective from the school, and the semi structured interviews with educational coordinators and the teachers too. We choose educational coordinators and teachers because they are closer with the education and learning methods, as well as their activities have more responsibility in relation to the main function developed by school, that is to teach, in other words, educational processes. This research also concerns an investigation about the educational coordinators and teachers conceptions, in relation to system's implantation external reviews at the schools. The results indicate to incidence of significant interference of the external reviews to/in the organization school's work, as, a teaching practice reorientation from results arising these reviews, or, modifications in the internal rating, since they have followed a tendency towards becoming more similar with their own external reviews. In what concerns the subjects investigated, we can emphasize that mostly submitted alienation with respect to negative effects of the external reviews for school. They showed that are conformed with the reality that they are inserted and in your mostly they proved perceive the positive effects by the implantation of external reviews. Dental development of children and adolescents with cleft lip and palate

Aim: To evaluate the dental development of Brazilian children and adolescents with cleft lip and palate. Methods: The sample consisted of 107 panoramic radiographs of children and adolescents with cleft lip and/or palate (cleft group) and 107 panoramic radiographs of children and adolescents without cleft lip and/or palate (control group), with chronological ages ranging from 6 to 15 years, matched in gender and chronological age within 60 days. Radiographs were digitized and masked and dental age was assessed using the method described by Demirjian et al. (1973). Three trained examiners conducted the assessments. Each examiner evaluated the radiographs three times. Data were statistically analyzed using non-parametric tests and univariate linear regression (p<0.05). Results: The dental age was overestimated in relation to the chronological age in both groups (p<0.0001). Compared to the control group, there was a delay in the dental age in the cleft group of 0.17 years (2.1 months). However, no statistically significant difference in the dental age between the cleft and the control group was found even when considering the different cleft types (p=0.152). Conclusions: There was no statistically significant difference in the dental age between the cleft and the control groups. The evaluation of dental development in individuals with cleft lip and palate should be approached in the same way as in individuals without clefts, with a focus on the individualization of diagnosis and treatment planning.
