Assuming that testimony in photojournalism must be understood as a historical and performative act, the aim of this article is to discuss how the testimonial function of journalistic photography was constantly re-signified in Brazilian news magazines during the twentieth century. This redefinition has a relation with the different ways in which testimonial function was hinged to news report (in its broadest elements) and how this imperative appeared on its discursive form in writing narrative. As trustee of a narrative intended to be realistic, photojournalism articulates, from techniques and codes of narration, a series of referential and informational strategies. These strategies, however, have changed over time, based on different modes of narration by image and its accreditation in reality.

The study of prehistoric artifacts may contribute to understand the development of these artifacts, and also of ergonomics. This study aims to investigate and identify the types of grips of two Brazilian stone tools (scraper / piercer and a slug) approximately 5000 years old through the use of gloves with sensors and contact maps of the hand palm, exploring the best method for research of ergonomics in prehistory. Hence it can contribute to the discussion of a part of the ergonomics’ history that remains underexplored.

Once the use of historical data serves as an articulator of senses in journalistic narratives, this article proposes to study the cases in which the discursive constructions of the future are structured from the evocation of the past. It is possible to discern how images of the future built on stories parting from the past is related to a specific conception of history and how this history is seen, by journalism, as a repository of examples enrolled in a temporal continuum and fixed as a judging instance able to measure and anticipate the future consequences.

Historiography shows that the historical moment is inscribed in the culture of every time and place. Thus, it allows us to identify within the different modes of cultural production - therefore in the literature of a particular time, our research object - expressions of historical aspects. Furthermore, it is important that we know our own history, so that such knowledge help us to learn how to build, individually and collectively, more equitable societies. The objective of this bibliographic research nature was to identify historical aspects of the nineteenth century Brazilian education printed in O Ateneu (The Athenaeum), written in 1888 by Raul Pompéia. We sought for narrative passages that could reveal usual educational practices in the time context of our work in order to better understand a historical period that contributed to the establishment of our current education

This study aimed to discuss the recent contributions of History of Science to theteaching of chemistry. The theme of the teaching unit was on the accident of cesium-137 in Goiânia ? Goiás, Brazil (1987). This was a qualitative study in which researcherand professor use the methodology of teaching on research. Thus, students should seekinformation, organize the data collected and establish relationships. Students producedposters in an exhibition at the school on the twentieth anniversary of the accident. Results demonstrated the importance of this resource. It was possible to exploit theabundance of detail and illustrations utilized what themes they students considerimportant and which they exploited. A poster exhibition on the theme indicated thestrong interest of students to participate in all activities proposed. The study alsorevealed the importance of using elements of the History of Science in ChemicalEducation and its relationship to the daily life of students.Key words: history of science; radioactivity; cesium-137
