Presents the contributions of pedagogical actions of a teacher- researcher, based on Body Culture Movement. Such actions were developed in physical education classes for one month in the second year of secondary education of state public school, located in the interior of São Paulo. Aims to understand what are the contributions to the student arising from actions based on Gymnastics in teacher reflection, developed by a teacherresearcher. The research approach and procedures adopted for the construction of data is qualitative in nature, exploring the descriptions field diary about the classes held. The results show that the contributions of such pedagogical actions can not be verified in the short time since they refer to changes in attitude and this requires time and the opportunity to participate in experiments planned in terms of goals and purposes that not are always proposed by the interlocutors of pedagogical action, but determined by external agents, such as educational policy and those responsible for curriculum development. The value of experience lies in how the actor engages with the pedagogical situation and the senses extracted from these actions, which presupposes individually with each student receives certain experience and the meanings extracted from each experience.

Participação política, planos diretores e gestão urbana sob o Estatuto da Cidade

The hegemonic version of democracy is based on Schumpeter’s approach, a legacy of liberal pluralism that reduces the formation of legitimate majorities through representation. Nevertheless, the democratization of authoritarian countries has provided innovative experiences of civil society in new participatory formats. At the institutional level, the Statute of the City regulated the chapter of the Urban Policy of the Federal Constitution of 1988. It advocates participatory formats of public policies in urban management “through public participation and representative associations”. The construction of this agenda is the result of institutional imposition and it reflects the government decisions and civil society demands. This paper analyzes the participation, its ability to share decisions, and to what extent these participatory formats depend on governments for the implementation of new paradigms of urban management. The approach combines theoretical and empirical analysis of development processes of Master Plans normatively guided by the City Statute. The empirical basis is formed by three medium-sized cities in Sao Paulo state: Piracicaba, Bauru and Rio Claro.

Participação de mulheres na gestão esportiva: uma revisão sistemática

During the last decades of the XX century occurred several demographic, cultural and social changes that directly affected the inclusion of women in the labor market. However many of them have found and still find barriers to work in various fields of endeavor and in the case of this study, the sports management. The purpose of this study was to assess through a systematic review, the participation of women in sports management, listing the main characteristics, challenges and difficulties. The research consisted of a systematic review of studies that discuss the thematic related to the participation of women in sport management in Brazil, including the Google Scholar database. The key words used and that generated proceeds were woman, sports management and women in sports administration. In the discussion and results has been possible to list the insert forms in a management position, the main ones being: by invitation, conduction or family relationship. The arguments about the limited participation of women in sports management and their encountered barriers are justified because there is a male domain and prejudice, resulting often the career waiver for these women. The profile of the sporting managers has found a predominance of men aged between 30-49 years old. For unavailability of articles, the present study was restricted to use only one database. In short, there is a lacuna in studies on women's participation in the administration or sporting management, with a prevalence of literature review articles. To expand overview on this issue would be important to carry out quantitative studies. It was concluded that the difficulty of women entering in sports management still seems to be a current problem and can only be minimized from a greater attention from the scientific community. Aprendizagem na contemporaneidade: jogos digitais no novo cenário em que caminha o ensino de química

Having in sight the current inertia found on the school physical environments as well as on the High School learning methods used, digital games appear as a different tool to build the individuals'/students' knowledge and becomes a driving factor for this research. The usage of this media resource tries to rescue a stimulant type of learning focused on the students' experiences while getting them closer to Science, Technology and Society (STS). The usefulness of this method falls short, however, without the capacitated guidance of a teacher. A literature review has been made about the possible schooling that electronic/digital games provide; it also brings the opinions of students and teachers to help comprehend how the insertion of this new tool in the classroom happens, as well as its efficiency and acceptance. Having in sight the relationship between individuals and the preoccupations about the future of mankind, components of humanity's destiny have been evidenced in the teaching of Chemistry. It is possible to conclude that these games can, indeed, help in the teaching process, although it is necessary that they develop a main didactic role, linked to the teaching of concepts and content, or else become only educational for that matter. Using the tools given by digital games it is possible, for example, through playfulness, to teach the theory of many abstract models, mathematical equations and chemical formulas, making it possible then to grab the students' attention, to thrill them and to develop their participation based on the experience they so often already have with cell phones and personal computers

Participação social nos conselhos de unidades de saúde

This exploratory and qualitative study sought to investigate how health service users? participation on the Councils of Health centers occurs in the municipality of Botucatu in São Paulo. Data was collected in September and October 2008 via interviews guided by a semi-structured script, administered to 9 service users who are members of the Council at four primary health care centers. After content analysis, three thematic categories emerged: Knowing the service user/councillor, The Health Centers? Council and Participation on the Council. The results show the unpreparedness and lack of knowledge of the councillors representing health service users on the subject of the role of the Councils and on public health policies, evidencing the need for actors from the health services to invest in guidance, consciousness-raising and preparation of citizens with critical ability to influence, guide, demand and question the health services? actions.

Avaliação da participação e confiabilidade da população em relação à campanha de vacinação anual contra a raiva de cães e gatos no município de Botucatu, São Paulo, Brasil

The annual vaccination campaign against rabies is the most effective prevention procedure for this disease in dogs and cats and hence for human protection also. However, in 2010 and 2011, this activity was interrupted in Brazil due to the occurrence of adverse events associated with vaccination. Even though cases of canine rabies have been decreasing in the last two decades, vigilance must be strengthened in order to maintain pet owners trust in the vaccines provided in public services. This study aimed to determine pet owners participation in the annual vaccination campaign carried out in Botucatu. During March and April 2012, the period before the 42nd campaign, 312 pet owners, dogs and cats, were interviewed. The homes were randomly drawn in blocks from different sectors of the city; all houses on the same block over the 120 km² of urban area participated in the sampling process. Statistical analysis was performed descriptively. The results showed that the owners main motivation to vaccinate their pets during the campaigns is rabies prevention (36%), followed by the proximity of the vaccination station to the house (20.7%), zero cost (10.9%), and the combination of all three factors (16.1%). When asked if they would take their animals back to be vaccinated in another campaign, 60.1% answered yes, 13.5% would go to a private clinic, 2.2% would not take because they do not trust the vaccine and 1.6% had not decided yet. We conclude that the respondents have realized how dangerous Rabies is, because even after the break period, they still utilized the vaccination campaign demonstrating confidence in its effectiveness, while knowing the campaign goals facilitates understanding and participation.
