The human being and consequently the human body is a subject that opens a range of possibilities for research in Physical Education study it never hurts and issues facing health helps us understand the paths chosen by the company. Women are targeted exposure and cult of the body and it is not uncommon to search for tips on how to have the silhouette of dreams through magazines that provide recommendations for achieving this purpose. The objective of this study aims to examine some concepts of body image, body and health, targeting study two books originated from the women's magazine Women's Health . Evaluate strengths and possible dangerous points of information. Through these studies we noted the importance of understanding the role of body image in the design to be healthy and yes we found studies that are presented in the magazine, good contribution, but there is also information that must be analyzed carefully, as not to prejudice the reader . We suggest further studies in this area to a greater understanding of topics covered in this work

Imagem corporal e ginastas: pesquisas e publicações no Brasil. -

The present study emerged from discussions of the Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas Pedagógicos em Ginástica (GEPPEGIN), from UNESP/RC, and had the intention to understand and analyze the existence and discussions on Body Image and Gymnasts in researches and publications over the last decade (2003-2013) in Brazil. Body image refers to the mental representation of the body, structured according to the world. It is known that cultural and social pressures have been imposing an ideal body model and generating consequences as body dissatisfaction. Therefore, this study aims discuss the body image of Artistic and Rhythmic gymnastics' athletes. The choice of these modalities is justified by the fact that they are directly related to body image, especially the issue of the necessity of low body weight, beyond the relationship of complex movements and the need of good body awareness (BERRY; HOWE, 2000; KERR et al., 2006). For the development of this qualitative research, a documentary survey were conducted over the last decade (2003-2013) on Body Image and Gymnasts, focusing on researches of strictosensu postgraduate programs, recognized by CAPES, and scientific papers published in journals indexed in Brazil and classified in Physical Education Qualis. For categorization of information related to the theme, was used the organization by the units of analysis proposed by Laville and Dionne (1999). Based on the studies analyzed, perceive a dissatisfaction with body image to most participants from all studies, being athlete or nonathlete. Contração de polimerização e expansão higroscópica de resinas compostas: análise pela técnica de video-imagem

To evaluate the volumetric changes due to polymerization and thermocycling on different resin-composites. Methods: Thirteen A2 Universal Dentin shade resin-composites (n = 10) from eight manufacturers were evaluated (4Seasons, Grandio, Venus, Amelogen Plus, P90, Z350, Esthet-X, Amaris, Vita-l-escence, Natural-Look, Charisma, Z250 and Opallis). The polymerization shrinkage percentage (PS) was calculated using an image measurement device (ACUVOL - Bisco Dental). Equal volumes of material, standardized by a semisphere polyurethane matrix (d = 3mm) were used and, after 5 minutes of relaxation, the baseline volume measurements were obtained with 18 J of energy dose from the LED light-curing unit. Measurements were obtained after 5 minutes and PS values calculated. Specimens were stored in a drydark environment for 24 hours and re-measured. Specimens were then thermocycled in distilled water between 5oC and 55oC for 20,000 cycles, subjected to another volume measurement at 5,000 cycle intervals. Specimens were gently dried prior to each measurement. Results: Repeated measurements were made using ANOVA (α = 0.05) showed that all resin-composite volumes were influenced by the number of cycles. Volumes at 5 minutes post-polymerization (12.47 ± 0.08) were significantly lower than those at baseline (12.80 ± 0.09). Volumes at 24 hours (12.43 ± 0.19) were insignificantly lower than those at 5 minutes postpolymerization. With regards to the impact of thermocycling, all specimens showed statistically significant increases in volume after 5,000 cycles (13.04 ± 0.22). Although statistically different from those after 5,000 cycles, there was no statistically significant difference between volumes measured at 10,000 (12.87±0.21), 15,000 (12.92±0.24), and 20,000 (12.84±0.23) cycles. Dental changes that compromise facial harmony can have serious consequences on the social image of the patient. Depending on the emotional significance for the individual it can change interpersonal relationships, causing profound changes in their patterns of self-acceptance and self-image, with profound effects on their self-esteem of the patient. The search for tooth whitening as cosmetic factor for a harmonic smile grew sharply in the last decade. Although the color of the tooth represents only one aspect in the set of determinants of facial harmony, it is a strong factor because it is quickly perceived. This study aims to report the clinical case of a patient with spots on their upper central incisors. For the patient these spots have compromised her smile, causing harm and discomfort in their everyday social and professional relationships.

A cárie dentária e a imagem do dentista sob a ótica infantil

The aim of this research was to study dental caries and the image of infant about dentists. Were selected randomly, 92 students from a two publics schools and 88 from a two privates schools, in the city of Araçatuba, São Paulo State. The children to answer a questionnaire composed of 13 questions and to make a drawing to represent a dental caries. The results were accomplished by using the statistical analyses “ Qui-square “ test and the “ Fisher “ test. The drawings were analyzed by a specialist psychologist. We concluded that the image about the dentist, for the children, is highly favorable and most of them know what it is the dental caries and how it is caused.

Giroversão dental: formação de imagem radiográfica virtual

Entre as diversas anomalias dentárias, a giroversão dental constitui uma anomalia de grande prevalência, na qual o dente realiza rotação em torno do seu próprio eixo. No exame radiográfico panorâmico é possível verificar a presença de giroversão, porém, quando a dinâmica de giro do eixo do equipamento não coincide com a curvatura da maxila e mandíbula, a imagem dos dentes apresenta-se girovertida ou com apinhamento dental. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar se as giroversões dentais presentes nas radiografias panorâmicas são verdadeiras ou apenas “virtuais”. Foram selecionadas 71 radiografias panorâmicas com imagens sugestivas de dentes girovertidos, de pacientes que também possuíam a documentação da cavidade bucal por fotografia e modelo de estudo. A média de idade dos pacientes avaliados foi 15 anos de idade. A imagem radiográfica panorâmica, fotografia e modelo de estudo foram avaliadas por um único examinador. Na avaliação das radiografias panorâmicas foram encontradas 246 dentes girovertidos. Porém, ao avaliar a fotografia e o modelo de estudo destes pacientes comprovou-se apenas 127 dentes com giroversão. Estes resultados indicam uma correspondência clinica/radiográfica de 51,4 %, ou seja, 48,6% das giroversões identificadas radiograficamente, eram “virtuais”. Pode-se concluir que o diagnóstico de giroversão dental utilizando a radiografia panorâmica deve ser confirmado pelo exame clínico para evitar diagnósticos falsos positivos.
