This study aimed to review the publications in the area of Education Physics that has contributed to Scientific Literacy and STS - Science , Technology and Society , with students of elementary school in Basic Education , looking for understand the importance of an education that aims the formation of critical citizens, in opposition to passive recipients of technological influences of a modern society , but which are able to understand and reflect the importance and influence of science and technology in political, social and environmental to society . In this context , the Physics, is one of the areas of natural sciences with direct implications in daily life , we believe in the importance of introducing physical concepts in science education since the early years of basic education , either as a approach playful , experiment, study of books , magazines , papers , etc. . , so that the knowledge about physics can be built through experience and the analysis of daily phenomena, instead of only being addressed in the last three years of teaching average basic education

Durante o processo de envelhecimento ocorrem alterações morfofisiológicas que podem acarretar em dificuldades na realização de atividades da vida diária (AVDs), diminuindo conseqüentemente a independência do idoso e comprometendo sua qualidade de vida. Para atenuar e/ou retardar tais alterações, diversos autores têm recomendado a prática regular de atividade física voltada para o desenvolvimento dos componentes de capacidade funcional (CF). Especificamente para a flexibilidade, a realização de exercícios de alongamento tem sido amplamente recomendada pela literatura. De qualquer forma, poucos estudos analisaram o efeito crônico do treinamento da flexibilidade em diferentes volumes sobre a CF de idosos. Desta forma, o objetivo desse estudo foi analisar o efeito de 16 semanas de treinamento de flexibilidade, através de alongamento estático, realizado com dois diferentes volumes, sobre a CF de idosas. Participaram deste estudo 23 mulheres (67,4 ± 7,3 anos; 64,9 ± 8,7 kg; 155,1 ± 5,8 cm; 27,5 ± 3,5 kg/m2) divididas em dois grupos: Grupo Treinamento de 30 segundos (GT30, n=15) e Grupo Treinamento de 60 segundos (GT60, n=8). As participantes do GT30 e GT60 foram submetidas ao treinamento de flexibilidade, com duração de 16 semanas e freqüência de três vezes semanais. Durante cada sessão de treinamento, as participantes realizaram três séries de exercícios de alongamento para os grupos musculares de membros superiores, inferiores e tronco, com intervalo de 30 segundos entre as repetições e entre os exercícios. A CF foi avaliada por meio da bateria de testes motores da American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) tanto no momento pré quanto após oito e 16 semanas de treinamento. A Doença Renal Crônica (DRC) é considerada um problema mundial de saúde pública. O paciente com DRC apresenta baixa tolerância ao exercício físico e como conseqüência apresenta limitações na capacidade funcional e força muscular respiratória. O paciente com DRC em programa de hemodiálise pode sofrer impactos negativos na sua capacidade funcional. Objetivo: Avaliar a capacidade funcional e a força muscular respiratória associada ao exercício físico em pacientes com doença renal crônica que realizam hemodiálise. Metodologia: 28 pacientes de ambos os sexos com idade entre 40 e 60 anos participaram do estudo, em programa de hemodiálise no Instituto do Rim da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Presidente Prudente-SP. Os pacientes foram avaliados pela força muscular inspiratória (PImax) e força muscular expiratória (PEmax) pela manovacuometria e Teste de Caminhada de Seis Minutos (TC6’) para avaliar a capacidade funcional. Após as avaliações, os pacientes iniciaram o programa de atividade física, com duração de oito semanas, realizado 3 vezes por semana durante 40 minutos na hemodiálise. Ao final do programa de exercícios físicos, os pacientes foram reavaliados. Resultados: Na avaliação da força muscular respiratória o valor da PImax pós foi significativamente maior que o valor obtido na avaliação pré programa (p<0,05), para a variável PEmax não foi encontrada diferença significativa entre os momentos pré e pós intervenção (p<0,05). As avaliações da capacidade funcional ou Teste de Caminhada de Seis Minutos (TC6’) inicial e após o programa de exercícios, não apresentaram diferenças significativas (p<0,05). Dados da Escala de Borg indicaram redução significativa do cansaço e dispnéia (p<0,05), após o programa de exercícios. The SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) systems are part of a medical image acquisition technology which has been outstanding, because the resultant images are functional images complementary to those that give anatomic information, such as X-Ray CT, presenting a high diagnostic value. These equipments acquire, in a non-invasive way, images from the interior of the human body through tomographic mapping of radioactive material administered to the patient. The SPECT systems are based on the Gamma Camera detection system, and one of them being set on a rotational gantry is enough to obtain the necessary data for a tomographic image. The images obtained from the SPECT system consist in a group of flat images that describe the radioactive distribution on the patient. The trans-axial cuts are obtained from the tomographic reconstruction techniques. There are analytic and iterative methods to obtain the tomographic reconstruction. The analytic methods are based on the Fourier Cut Theorem (FCT), while the iterative methods search for numeric solutions to solve the equations from the projections. Within the analytic methods, the filtered backprojection (FBP) method maybe is the simplest of all the tomographic reconstruction techniques. This paper's goal is to present the operation of the SPECT system, the Gamma Camera detection system, some tomographic reconstruction techniques and the requisites for the implementation of this system in a Nuclear Medicine service

Introdução – Uma das causas mais prováveis de lesões esportivas está relacionada aos desequilíbrios musculares e a fadiga muscular, que é evidenciada no decorrer de um jogo de futebol, principalmente no final do jogo. Esta pode ser avaliada através da comparação da força de contração máxima antes e após o exercício. A fadiga produzida durante o jogo diminui a força muscular concêntrica e excêntrica de flexores e extensores do joelho podendo aumentar a incidência de lesões. Objetivo - Avaliar o efeito de uma partida sobre o pico de torque funcional e convencional nos músculos isquiotibiais e quadríceps de jogadores de futebol de salão com e sem desequilíbrio muscular. Método – Oito jogadores de futebol de salão do gênero masculino, com idade entre 18 e 24 anos, fizeram três visitas ao laboratório: 1ª foram realizadas a antropometria e adaptação aos equipamentos; 2ª teste máximo no dinamômetro isocinético para determinar a razão do pico de torque funcional e convencional nos músculos isquiotibiais e quadríceps; 3ª idem ao 2ª, após a partida de futebol de salão. Análise estatística – através das médias ± DP dos dados obtidos foi utilizado o teste t para amostras dependentes e o Mann Whitney para comparação do pico de torque antes e após a partida de futebol de salão e para comparação da relação flexor/extensor pré e pós- esforço, respectivamente. Em ambos os testes foram adotado um nível de significância de p < 0,05. Resultados - Não foram encontradas diferenças significantes entre os grupos de atletas com desequilíbrio muscular na perna dominante (GD) e grupo equilíbrio (GE) e para os extensores e flexores do GD e GE nas condições Con60. Mood States are feelings auto regulation deliver to individual better quality of life and healthy aging. The declines of the aging process can be minimized with the regular practice of physical activity and systematized. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of a dance program in mood states, depressive symptoms and functional capacity in elderly participants of PROFIT. METHOD: The sample was composed of 20 elderly people. The Training Group was formed by 15 elders who participated in a protocol of dance with duration of 1 hour, three times per week, for 12 weeks and the Control Group, composed of 5 elderly, did not attend any program of physical activity. The participants were evaluated by the List of States of Mind Reduced and Illustrated, Geriatric Depression Scale and the battery of tests of AAHPERD. For the mood states was used non-parametric analysis, according to the technique of Binomial Analysis. To compare the components of functional capacity between the groups was used analysis of variance for repeated measures two-way ANOVA and the level of significance was set at 5 %. RESULTS: The functional components remained favorable, highlighting Agility (pre = 21.03 ± 1.64 sec./ post = 18.63 ± 2.26 sec.) And aerobic endurance (pre = 495.94 ± 46.48 sec. / post = 448.01 ± 12.27 sec.). In the comparison between positive and negative functional levels and mood states showed no relationship between these variables, dealing with different aspects and has influence one another. The state post-dancing sessions mood in GT were more positive even for elderly patients with depressive symptoms even unproven statistically, depressive symptoms were maintained or reduced mostly. CONCLUSION: The dance practice maintains the functionality of components; modifies mood states to positive levels and reduces or prevents the onset of depressive symptoms and complications in elderly

This paper is the result of a research about literacy concept from official documents, dictionaries and linguists. As an expansion of literacy concept was observed through last century, this investigation searched for an opposite way, in other words, a contraction of the literacy concept in order to clarify its nature and this way to be the starting point for literacy teachers. The best way to literacy happens was also part of the research, then the text was considered like that, since it is a real communicative situation. Besides it should be a meaning system which can be accessed again any time. It would include many kinds of texts – oral or written – as long as they were recorded somehow. The best text form was investigated as well, in other words, the best speech genre for teaching literacy, once there are important elements which should be considered during the literacy acquisition, such as the encouragement to read and to think about the correct writing of the words. In the end, considerations were made concerning the literacy teacher‘s awareness about the context change when the text is used in a scholar context and about the skills acquired by the students which should be transported to other texts in varied contexts

Introdução: O envelhecimento e/ou fatores a ele associados pode levar à diminuição dos componentes de capacidade funcional (CF). Tal redução pode comprometer a realização das atividades da vida diária (AVDs), a independência e a qualidade de vida do idoso. A avaliação de tais componentes reveste-se de importância para conhecer o estado funcional bem como prescrever programas de atividades físicas para a população idosa. Objetivo: Analisar os níveis dos componentes de CF em idosos com 80 anos ou mais de idade, assim como verificar e comparar os resultados entre gêneros desse mesmo estudo e também com outras faixas de idade através de resultados já existentes na literatura. Método: Sessenta idosos (30 homens e 30 mulheres) com idade de 80 anos ou mais realizaram a bateria de testes motores da American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), que avaliou os seis componentes de CF (flexibilidade, coordenação, agilidade, equilíbrio, força e capacidade aeróbia). Os dados foram analisados pela estatística descritiva e pela comparação de médias entre os dois gêneros e com os resultados, já previamente existentes, de outras faixas etárias, por meio do teste t de Student e teste t (resumo amostral) para p <0,05. Resultados: A comparação entre gêneros apresentou resultados com diferença estatisticamente significativa no componente capacidade aeróbia, com melhores valores para os homens, e nos componentes força e flexibilidade com melhores resultados para as mulheres. A comparação com faixas etárias mais jovens revelou diferença estatisticamente significativa para todos os componentes, sendo que apenas a flexibilidade apresentou melhores resultados para as idosas com 80 anos ou mais. Learning the written language has been the subject of research and study of various sciences in recent decades, in the same way that inclusion in regular education of students with disabilities such as autism, also has been the subject of discussions in the academic and even political. However, it can be observed that these two topics are disjointed, despite the importance of ownership of the system of writing by students with autism, because that would be a way to facilitate social interaction, which is the principal difficulty of this students. This research intend to describe the inclusion process of a student with autism into a common room of the initial years, in a public school, observing which are the strategies used by the teacher in the literacy process, as well as analyze the collaborative process developed by the researcher. The methodology was a qualitative and collaborative research, the kind of case study. The participants were a teacher and her students, from the cycle I of Primary School of a public school, among which, one is diagnosed with autism. The instruments used to the data’s analysis were interviews, with the teacher and the mother of the student with autism; the written productions of the student during the research; camp diary; and the observations made during the research. To the interventions, were used alternative practices, including material production (a mobile alphabet and a album of photos), that make more easy the process of literacy, The results showed the great difficulty in performing the interventions in a collaborative process, considering that in the observations, it was found that the practices of this teacher were traditional, and also there was no planning, on her part, content to be deal with the students. The constructivist methodology of literacy has been adopted in many schools, however, there are many criticism regarding the way teacher are devising the way how to teach children. To reflect on this aspect this research were carried out theoretical studies about the subject, as well as observations and reflections about the current process of literacy in Brazilian schools. Thus, in this research, the constructivist methodology of literacy was analyzed from its bases, in order to observe if the teachers are actually accomplishing their practice according to this “theory”, as well as the difficulties encountered by students on this methodology. Also was analyzed the methodology syllabic literacy, to be able to make a mapping of the positive aspects and the limitations presented by this method, in this way being able to reflect about adequacy of the analyzed methods of a better learning process of written language by children. This research aims to show that more important than the stark choice between a literacy method and the another is the commitment of the literacy teacher with the students who want to alphabetize, noting that the teacher should used, sometimes several methods to get the largest number of literate children in the classroom, emphasizing the work with good texts, so that children feel the taste and enjoyment of reading in their daily lives

Este trabalho de conclusão de curso tem como objetivo analisar a mídia televisiva, no que diz respeito a seus interesses e programações, levando em consideração a conseqüente relação conflituosa entre esta e as crianças brasileiras, uma vez que a mídia não oferece programas de qualidade que respeitem a diversidade cultural. O trabalho analisa os conteúdos dos programas oferecidos pela mídia e compara-os com o que se propõem a Convenção da ONU realizada em 1989 Sobre os Diretos da Criança, no que diz respeito a mídia em geral. A partir de base teórica busca refletir sobre o impacto das mensagens dos programas de televisão na mente da criança e consequentemente afetando seu desenvolvimento cognitivo, moral e emocional. Sendo que percorrendo esse caminho de análise, procura-se mostrar uma possível reflexão e mudança através da educação para mídia e participação na mesma, envolvendo pais, professores, as políticas públicas e as próprias crianças.

This qualitative research was performed with the goal of investigating the contributions of theoretical and methodological perspectives in the alphabetization process, aiming to train proficient writers of texts with communicative function. Hence, such were the goals established for this research: giving a retrospective look on the synthetic and analytic methods of teaching literacy; verifying the possibilities and limits of theoretical and methodological approaches of acquiring the ability to write and identifying the teachers’ ideas concerning basic concepts (such as literacy, text and textual genres) imbued in the teaching of writing; and establishing which activities they develop in the course of teaching whether the pedagogical practices of the teacher observed contributed to the formation of students who were capable of producing significant texts of diverse genres, suitable to the objectives, to the readers, and to the context of the circulation of texts. The research was done in a public elementary school, in a 2nd grade class of the city of Jaú. Subjects of the research were four teachers and twenty-eight children. For this work, two instruments were used for data collecting: a questionnaire and direct observation, registered in research diaries. Among the observations made were that, although there are many studies on literacy, the practices actually adopted in class are empirical in nature and do not contribute to the process of developing individual writing or reading skills at all; rather, it is only valued the ability of establishing relations between phonemes and graphemes; literacy teachers do not have adequate knowledge of concepts of literacy, teaching, text and textual genres, valuing only one methodological theory and disregarding other contributions on the field of text production

Currently the forests around the world face different aspects of weather. Global climate change and its adversities alter significantly the dynamics of the forest, directly influencing the operation. Human activities interfere in the functions of forests, either by removal of vegetation, either by reforesting deforested areas. Given the influence of human activity and climate change on forests, this project presents a comparative and analytical situation, the microclimatic level, the State Forest Edmundo Navarro de Andrade (FEENA), in Rio Claro. We measured the temperature maximum, minimum and average in different periods surrounding the FEENA, from 1889 to 1917, 1971 to 1999 and from 1999 to 2011. What allowed to suggest changes in the microclimate of your surroundings and probably in forest dynamics
