With highlighted sprint ability, the racing line is important segment within the Quarter Horses breed, with huge impact on agribusiness. Theseanimals have noted morphological differences when compared to other lines within the breed, especially for larger body size proportions. The objective of this study was to estimate genetic parameters forbody measurements traitsof the racing line of the Quarter Horses breed via Bayesian inference. Here,289 animals of both sexes, registered at brazilian association of breeders (ABQM), were used. The results showed high coefficient of heritability for body length (0.74) and back-loin lenght(0.61). The heritability coefficients for height at withersand croup length were moderate (0.44 and 0.47, respectively). High genetic correlation for body length and croup length and for body length and back-loins lengthwas also observed(0.80 and 0.76, respectively). Taking into account the estimates of heritability and genetic correlations between body measurement traits, the body length and height at withers traits proved to be appropriate to provide future researches that investigate the genetic correlation between body measurements and racing performance.

The application technology shows many parameters related to the quality of the application, one is the droplet spectrum, which is influenced by the spray nozzles and the adjuvant used. Therefore, the objective of this work was estimate the behavior of the droplet spectrum generated with different nozzles and different adjuvants. The experiment was installed containing four solutions from different type adjuvant dilution, as vegetal oil, mineral oil, surfactant and drift reduction, which were applied with two nozzle, one pre-orifice flat fan (DG 8003 VS) and other of air induction flat fan (AI 8003 VS), totaling 8 treatments with 3 repetitions. The experiment was realized in ideal weather conditions for spraying. The treatments averages were compared using Confidence Interval at 95% probability and the correlations between variables were analyzed using Pearson at 5% of probability. The analysis of droplet spectrum showed different behavior for each adjuvant and nozzle. The surfactant treatment showed VMD superior for all treatments when sprayed with AI nozzles. For the %vol.<100 µm the lowest value found was for the AI nozzle in combination with the surfactant. The significant correlations found for the nozzles AI and DG were negative between VMD and %vol.<100 µm. It can be concluded that the values of DMV and %vol.<100 µm showed that the nozzle with pre-orifice have droplet spectrum more prone to drift. The surfactant showed to be the best drift reduction technique when combined with the AI nozzle.

This study investigated the effect on solubility and release of ternary complexes of sulfamerazine (SMR) with beta-(beta CD), methyl-(M beta CD) and hydroxypropyl-P-cyclodextrin (HP beta CD) using meglumine (MEG) as the ternary component. The combination of MEG with M beta CD resulted the best approach, with an increased effect (29-fold) of the aqueous solubility of SMR. The mode of inclusion was supported by 2D NMR, which indicated that real ternary complexes were formed between SMR, MEG and M beta CD or HP beta CD. Solid state analysis was performed using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT IR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), which demonstrated that different interactions occurred among SMR, MEG and M beta CD or HP beta CD in the ternary lyophilized systems. The ternary complexes with beta CD and M beta CD produced an additional retention effect on the release of SMR compared to the corresponding binary complexes, implying that they were clearly superior in terms of solubility and release modulation.
