This article analyzes the ideas and the work of Anísio Teixeira in the 1920s and 1930s, focusing on his views about the value of measurement for educational reform in Brazil. Considering that the thinking and practices of Teixeira should be understood in the context in which it was developed, the study presents the history of the presence of psychological knowledge in education, with special attention to the entrance of the Psychometrics in the New School movement. The paper concludes that, by defending the use of measurement, Teixeira has remained true to the goal of the New School that required to diagnoses scientifically the school universe, which was necessary to respond to the growing demand for schooling and the educational disabilities of the Brazilian educational institutions.

The curricula study allows the verification of trends, concepts and the identification of teaching practices, enabling the planning and implementation of changes when necessary. The material presented here is part of the results obtained in a postgraduate research that deals with the training of psychologists to work with people with disabilities, which appealed to the document analysis. To accomplish this task it was used a methodological procedure named searching through radical, which allowed greater agility to the search, enabling the quick identification of the courses containing topics of interest for research, facilitating their selection to study. The use of document analysis as a methodology allowed both the collection and organization of information that were diffused, providing them new configuration as source of information, as the processing and interpretation of the raw data, giving them direction and adding them value. In 36 courses, 35 had at least one subject related to persons with disabilities, and the sum of these resulted in 85 subjects for analysis. The interpretation of data obtained through reading the menus brought information about prevalent intentions on the menus of the subjects, to research in the area, teaching procedures, techniques and possibilities of action and insertion of psychologists in different contexts in which they can deal with disability. In a positive perspective, the results showed that there seems to be a tendency to enhance the interface of psychology with other knowledge areas to understand the issues related to disability.

In this article, we aim to describe and explain what is the model “practical group of displacements”, introduced in 1937 by Piaget’s work La construction du reel chez l’enfant (Neuchâtel, Paris: Delachaux et Niestlé), essential to comprehension of the construction of space. To this end, we introduce the mathematical notation to describe it, we give the meaning of this notation in the child’s behavior and explains the mathematical structure of group underlying the model.

The concern with aging has increased in recent decades throughout the world, before the gradual increase in life expectancy of the population. Researchers have been developing a diverse in nature, in order to subsidize the activities of professionals in the field of Gerontology to promote autonomy, preservation of cognitive functions and thus contribute to healthy aging. This article presents a review of the literature on memory and aging from the perspective of cognitive psychology. The bibliography contains studies focusing on different subjects, in this sense. A significant number of works have been undertaken in order to investigate mechanisms and benefits of training on memory in healthy elderly and / or cognitive improvement. A concept that deserves attention in such studies is the study of aspects of meta-memory. However, there are still relatively few controlled studies on the subject.

The concern with infant mortality has been a priority in public policies, especially for Brazil to achieve the Millennium Development Goal number four: reducing child mortality by 75% by the year 2015. It is known that prematurity has an intimate relationship with mortality of children under one year and therefore it is necessary an effective intervention in risk factors linked to premature births. To evaluate the profile of mothers and newborn babies living in Botucatu-SP, in the period 2001 to 2009, focusing on prematurity. A quantitative study, retrospective, descriptive, epidemiological, from the Information System Newborn Alive. The prevalence of preterm births was 15.1%, and low birth weight 14.7%. Among infants, the Apgar score below 7 at 1 and at 5 minutes was 13.1% and 2.4% respectively. Considering the total of pregnant women studied, 20.3% were adolescents and 10.3% were aged 35 years or more and most (63.2%) had eight or more years of school approval. The profile of mothers of premature infants shows that 23.6% were teenagers, 14.1% had at least 35 years and 60.4% had at least primary education. With regard to premature deliveries, caesarean sections and 58.4% were between the total newborns, this type of delivery was achieved in 46.6% of cases. Prematurity was associated with an Apgar score below seven in the first and fifth minutes of life, presence of malformation and multiple pregnancy. Among maternal variables, prematurity was associated with extremes of maternal age, maternal education, history of stillbirth, primiparas, white and presence of the mother's partner. With regard to delivery was associated with cesarean section and outside the hospital. This study assessed maternal characteristics associated with prematurity and point out how relevant the pregnancies at the extremes of age and those that occur in women with low education level, indicating the interference... O estresse psicológico é um importante fator que ocasiona uma queda no desempenho de atletas, independente do esporte. No Brasil o de maior visibilidade e mais assistido e comentado pela mídia é o futebol. Tendo em vista isso a pratica dessa modalidade em alto nível pode gerar certo estresse, no entanto a situações específicas durante o jogo que podem aumenta-lo ainda mais, dentre elas temos o pênalti considerado a melhor oportunidade de marcar o gol e a mais fácil, exatamente por isso essa situação não admite falhas. Apesar de já ser uma situação que causa alto nível de ansiedade, existem alguns fatores que podem influenciar mais ainda negativamente o cobrador, portando o presente estudo tem como objetivo primeiramente de encontrar o fator que causa maior influencia negativa nos atletas e posteriormente comparar com as cobranças de pênalti do Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol de 2010 (CBF) nessa situação com as demais. Os dados obtidos a partir da aplicação de um inventário demostraram que o fator que mais influencia negativamente jogadores de futebol durante cobranças de pênalti são situações de final de jogo, assim o objetivo do presente estudo é de comparar as cobranças de pênaltis do Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol de 2010, em situações de final de jogo com as demais. Os resultados obtidos mostraram uma queda de 4% nos escores em situações de final de jogo comparados com as demais

É sabido que o movimento humano é mais do que simples deslocamento do corpo no espaço. Ao movimentarem-se, os alunos expressam sentimentos, emoções e pensamentos, ampliando as possibilidades do uso significativo de gestos e posturas corporais. A vergonha é tida como um sentimento (desde que se tenha sua percepção) de desconforto, podendo comprometer o relacionamento do indivíduo socialmente e seu equilíbrio interior. Trata-se de uma emoção de auto-avaliação, um sentimento de insegurança, provocado pelo medo do ridículo. Esse processo se instala a partir do momento que somos observados, julgados e sofremos comparações pelos nossos pares, ou por nós mesmos. Os sentimentos de medo, ansiedade e vergonha se associam. Dentre as situações de medo, relacionadas à exposição, o medo de fracassar em um jogo; medo do vexame, por exemplo, leva o indivíduo a duvidar de suas capacidades, interferindo negativamente em sua atuação. Durante as aulas de Educação Física na escola, os alunos se sentem livres para se expressarem demonstrando suas emoções mais facilmente, construindo suas personalidades e manifestando suas individualidades, que muitas vezes, em outros departamentos da escola são reprimidas. Desta forma, este estudo analisou as alterações nos estados emocionais dos alunos, com idade entre 16 e 18 anos, durante as atividades desenvolvidas nas aulas de Educação Física Escolar; bem como verificou a existência e quais as principais causas das emoções “medo e vergonha” e por fim avaliou se essas emoções podem interferir na participação dosalunos nas aulas. Os participantes constituíram-se de 40 alunos, sendo que 20 alunos do sexo feminino e 20 alunos do sexo masculino, com idade entre 16 e 18 anos.
