The elections for governor in 2006 with its victory Marcelo Déda Workers Party (PT), were a landmark in the state of Sergipe, for the first time, called progressive fronts (an alliance of parties formed mostly by origin of the left) broke the hegemony of two political groups, Franco and the Alves, whose direction was in force for over 30 years. This study proceeds on the assumption that the print media has certain standards of conduct in covering the election period. Therefore, this study seeks to quantify, classify and compare data from three newspapers more representative of the State of Sergipe (Cinform, Cidade Journal and Correio de Sergipe) to analyze the behavior of these journals, such as private apparatus of hegemony in election coverage 2006. It also uses the concept of hegemony Gramsci and theories of journalism framing (Entman and Porto) and agenda setting (McCombs and Shaw) to identify these patterns

The work that follows has as its main objective the analysis of the discourse of media, with emphasis on newspapers printed on acts and events involving young offenders. The speech adopted by columnists of newspapers, based on formulas and journalistic practices exist, allows the reader a view of what happened in detail. But this wealth of information, contradictorily, it seems not permit, much less to encourage reflection on the what is being read. All information contained in narrative journalism seem to point to the establishment of maintenance of speech reinante of violence and repression against young offenders, from, and generally in the vast majority of cases, from poor neighborhoods and suburbs of large cities. The whole range of such important issues directly related to violence committed by these young people does not appear, does not appear in the text journalism. Words such as "marginal", "square" reinforce prejudices, stigmas against the youth, putting the company on constant alert against such "criminals", "malandros." The result of the survey was partial, but can conclude about the importance of the media against those social phenomena that amedrontam the society at present

This work has as objective approaches the relationship among journalism, literature and society in Lima Barreto, especially in fiction book Recordações do escrivão Isaías Caminha and in several of their chronicles, detecting the superficiality notion that author sees in the journalistic activity and to point that the literature brings the particularity of presenting as an alive laboratory for the social sciences. The used theoretical-methodological elements draw a corpus through an interactive process in which additional layers of the author's texts are submitted to the analysis. The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the actual nature of the Scientific Journalism, studying the historical facts from these informations segment, their matters production and the news industries that work with these specific niche of the contemporary journalism. It is taken into account the educational potential of the specialized journalism and it is considered the communication as a transdiciplinary science. To get into this point it was elected as an analyze category the Reception it Mediation Studies specially the north-americans theories besides the utilization also of the reportage concept to identify how to establish the epistemological relations between Communication and Education. The main objective of this research was studying the meanings of the freedom of expression and what professors of Journalism think about the way those meanings are used in pedagogical practices. The term freedom of expression is commonly used in journalism even though it is not so studied, consequently we don t have a word to define it. Therefore, we related the term freedom of expression in Journalism teaching to the condition as the object of this study, aiming to establish a connection among the term, the right, free expression and the endurance of the right. The theorical support to understand the dynamic of the meanings of the freedom of expression in the social practice of Journalism teaching was based in the Hegeliana dialetic theorical principles and in the language philosophy more specifically in Bakhtin s perspective from which we can mention the social auditorium, immediate conditions of production and a wider social horizon as the main categories of analysis. This study is a qualitative research with an interacionist perspective anchored in a semi-structured interview as a privileged method of data collecting made with ten professors from Journalism graduation. The analysis reveals that, in the interviewers perspective, there would be a deceiving practice from freedom of expression in the journalism teaching in which emerges either in speeches with handbills spreading the fear and/or under a stimulus form to concealment

This thesis has as an objective to think over the teachers` understanding of the school History of the Fundamental Teaching regarding the existent relations between the history theories and the teaching of the school History, as well as to think over how these teachers see the influence that their teaching practice gets from the history theories. The work is based on the postulates of the qualitative research and on the characteristics of the ethnography of the school practice. The main procedures of data gathering were the documental analysis, the semi-structured interviews, the field diary and the observations of classes. The scientific perspective of the multiple references is an important source in this research. The participants of this work are two teachers of the school district of Natal who work in the field of the school History in two schools on the North Side of the city. The accomplished analysis point to significant indications that didn't occur continuous and regular teaching situations in the initial and continuing education of these teachers that clearly showed the relations between the history theories and the teaching of the school History. They also suggest that their understanding about the influence that their teaching practice gets from the history theories, is not still explicit. We understand that the relations between the history theories and the teaching of the school History are important for the initial and continuing education of these teachers who belong in this knowledge field, even when these relations are not explicitly pointed by the teachers, because they will always influence the teaching practice that the teachers of the school History build

Esta tesis (desarrollada en la Base de Pesquisa, Formação e Profissionalização Docente da UFRN) concentra su ámbito de interés en el problema de la formación, de la profesionalización del pensamiento del profesor, buscando investigar las Teorías Implícitas de los estudiantes del Curso de Pedagogía sobre la docencia en los años iniciales de la Enseñanza Fundamental. La emergente necesidad de términos acceso a las Teorías Implícitas de estudiantes de Pedagogía (futuros profesores) sobre la docencia en los años iniciales de la Enseñanza Fundamental, a través de un instrumento de pesquisa que posibilite su aplicación en varios contextos formativos para contribuir con su proceso de profesionalización docente, constituye el problema analizado. La pesquisa tiene como objetivo elaborar un instrumento investigativo para estudiar las Teorías Implícitas de los profesores sobre la docencia en los años iniciales de la Enseñaza Fundamental. La complejidad del estudio nos ha llevado a integrar diferentes procedimientos metodológicos, según orientación del paradigma sociocultural, tales como: estudios exploratorios, a través de la revisión bibliográfica de la literatura especializada y técnica de trabajo creativo en grupo; técnicas normativas y psicométricas. A través de los estudios exploratorios identificamos y configuramos tres teorías profesionales de la docencia en los años iniciales de la Enseñanza Fundamental, las cuales presentan una importante relación con el Estado: la docencia como actividad laica, la docencia como actividad técnica y la docencia como actividad profesional. Para la configuración de la teorías, definimos siete subdominios estructurales de la docencia: función docente, concepción de aluno, contenidos de enseñanza, gestión de aula de clase, proceso formativo, condiciones de trabajo y naturaleza del grupo profesional. El cuestionario normativo ha sido el instrumento orientado para investigar las representaciones de los estudiantes a nivel de conocimientos establecidos y reglamentados por la cultura, como condición básica para investigar sus Teorías Implícitas sobre a docencia. El estudio ha constatado que los subdominios determinados para la comprensión del objeto de estudio están presentes, de manera reincidente, en la literatura especializada como los son representativos en las identificaciones de los estudiantes investigados. Hemos concluido que las teorías configuradas para caracterizar la profesión docente en los años iniciales de la Enseñanza Fundamental hacen parte de la estructura de conocimientos de los estudiantes sobre la docencia, aunque los enunciados de las teorías, como actividad laica y como actividad técnica, no presente índice de tipicidad y de polaridad muy significativo cuanto aquellos relativos a la teoría de la docencia como actividad profesional. Las Teorías Implícitas de los estudiantes enseñan que ellos comparten elementos o rasgos de todas las teorías de la docencia, aunque se revelen más predispuestos a la docencia como actividad profesional. El estudio orienta la aplicación del cuestionario reglamentado a un grupo de profesores actuantes en el nivel de enseñanza en cuestión, para que averigüemos si los enunciados que hacen parte de la estructura de conocimientos de los profesores son los mismos que componen la estructura de conocimiento de los estudiantes, de modo a fortalecer la validación de nuestro instrumento de pesquisa

This thesis presents a study on Tversky & Kahneman s (1974) Anchoring theory, and Vroom s (1964) Expectance theory in the context of education and students motivation. It is surveyed 424 students of a secondary and agricultural technical school in Brazil Northeast (EAJ). The survey form try to capture the Vroom s Expectance Theory constructs of Valence, Instrumentality, Expectation and Motivational Force, and also the Tversky and Kahneman Anchoring effect in terms of grade expected. The main findings suggest that the minimum grade required by the school is much strong in driving the students motivation and performance than the Expectancy Theory. It was found that the different grades required drive the students to pursue different grade in the same way

O tema deste trabalho é o Jornalismo Cultural. Uma apresentação e discussão de temas pertinentes ao jornalismo especializado em cultura nas páginas do jornal diário. A partir da leitura de alguns jornais, se traça considerações gerais acerca dos caminhos do jornalismo e dos estudos sobre jornalismo com o objetivo de apresentar o jornal que hoje se produz no Brasil, em texto, imagem e cor. O resultado é a descoberta do jornal como forma, desde o texto, escolhas lexicais e sintáticas, passando pelas imagens, composição, escolha e determinação da pauta, ao arranjo destes elementos na página, em respeito ao projeto editorial de diagramação. A conclusão a que se chega que há vários "eus" que governam o jornal diário, e que fazem o jornalismo cultural inovador, porta de entrada às mudanças no jornalismo.

The infographics historically experience the process of evolution of journalism, from the incipient models handmade in the eighteenth century to the inclusion of computers and sophisticated software today. In order to face the advent of TV against of the partiality readers of the printed newspaper, or to represent the Gulf War, where not allowed photography, infographics reaches modern levels of production and publication. The technical devices which enabled the infographics to evolve the environment of the internet, with conditions for the manipulation of the reader, incorporating video, audio and animations, so styling of interactive infographics. These digital models of information visualization recently arrived daily in the northeast and on their respective web sites with features regionalized. This paper therefore proposes to explore and describe the processes of producing the interactive infographics, taking the example of the Diário do Nordeste, Fortaleza, Ceará, whose department was created one year ago. Therefore, based on aspects that guide the theory of journalism, as newsmaking, filters that focus on productive routine (gatekeeping) and the construction stages of the news. This research also draws on the theoretical framework on the subject, in concepts essential characteristics of computer graphics, as well as the methodological procedures and systematic empirical observations in production routines of the newsroom who can testify limitations and / or advances

The transmedia storytelling is a phenomenom recently conceptualized theoretically (JENKINS, 2009), arising from ficcional mediatic products and disseminated as well by the use on other fields. This search aims to analyze how the transmedia storytellings can be applied to journalism on the basis of an specific genre, the reporting. To that, take as reference theoretical developments performed by brazilian authors (FECHINE et al., 2011, 2012, 2013), on the basis of televisive fiction, which culminated on concepts as transmediation and transmedia contents and deepened the comprehension and the research in this area. Thenceforth, this study propone a problematization and apropriation of this theoretic support for the journalism field, using, for that, a comprehension of journalistic production on a speech level, as well as its social practices (newsmaking). The empiric research also take two different paths. First, analyze a group of reportings, in which there is transmediation, in order to verifying the configuration of the transmedia phenomenom - more specifically of the transmedia storytelling - and its particularities to journalism. Then, develops an investigation, based on the etnographic method, of the productive routine on the special reporting section of the Jornal do Commercio (Recife/PE), aiming to investigate the conditions of transmediation in this range and the practices that favor and difficult the employment of transmedia storytelling. The following work is to interpret and analyze the problem of induction under a vision founded on set theory and probability theory as a basis for solution of its negative philosophical implications related to the systems of inductive logic in general. Due to the importance of the problem and the relatively recent developments in these fields of knowledge (early 20th century), as well as the visible relations between them and the process of inductive inference, it has been opened a field of relatively unexplored and promising possibilities. The key point of the study consists in modeling the information acquisition process using concepts of set theory, followed by a treatment using probability theory. Throughout the study it was identified as a major obstacle to the probabilistic justification, both: the problem of defining the concept of probability and that of rationality, as well as the subtle connection between the two. This finding called for a greater care in choosing the criterion of rationality to be considered in order to facilitate the treatment of the problem through such specific situations, but without losing their original characteristics so that the conclusions can be extended to classic cases such as the question about the continuity of the sunrise

In this dissertation, after a brief review on the Einstein s General Relativity Theory and its application to the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmological models, we present and discuss the alternative theories of gravity dubbed f(R) gravity. These theories come about when one substitute in the Einstein-Hilbert action the Ricci curvature R by some well behaved nonlinear function f(R). They provide an alternative way to explain the current cosmic acceleration with no need of invoking neither a dark energy component, nor the existence of extra spatial dimensions. In dealing with f(R) gravity, two different variational approaches may be followed, namely the metric and the Palatini formalisms, which lead to very different equations of motion. We briefly describe the metric formalism and then concentrate on the Palatini variational approach to the gravity action. We make a systematic and detailed derivation of the field equations for Palatini f(R) gravity, which generalize the Einsteins equations of General Relativity, and obtain also the generalized Friedmann equations, which can be used for cosmological tests. As an example, using recent compilations of type Ia Supernovae observations, we show how the f(R) = R − fi/Rn class of gravity theories explain the recent observed acceleration of the universe by placing reasonable constraints on the free parameters fi and n. We also examine the question as to whether Palatini f(R) gravity theories permit space-times in which causality, a fundamental issue in any physical theory [22], is violated. As is well known, in General Relativity there are solutions to the viii field equations that have causal anomalies in the form of closed time-like curves, the renowned Gödel model being the best known example of such a solution. Here we show that every perfect-fluid Gödel-type solution of Palatini f(R) gravity with density and pressure p that satisfy the weak energy condition + p 0 is necessarily isometric to the Gödel geometry, demonstrating, therefore, that these theories present causal anomalies in the form of closed time-like curves. This result extends a theorem on Gödel-type models to the framework of Palatini f(R) gravity theory. We derive an expression for a critical radius rc (beyond which causality is violated) for an arbitrary Palatini f(R) theory. The expression makes apparent that the violation of causality depends on the form of f(R) and on the matter content components. We concretely examine the Gödel-type perfect-fluid solutions in the f(R) = R−fi/Rn class of Palatini gravity theories, and show that for positive matter density and for fi and n in the range permitted by the observations, these theories do not admit the Gödel geometry as a perfect-fluid solution of its field equations. In this sense, f(R) gravity theory remedies the causal pathology in the form of closed timelike curves which is allowed in General Relativity. We also examine the violation of causality of Gödel-type by considering a single scalar field as the matter content. For this source, we show that Palatini f(R) gravity gives rise to a unique Gödeltype solution with no violation of causality. Finally, we show that by combining a perfect fluid plus a scalar field as sources of Gödel-type geometries, we obtain both solutions in the form of closed time-like curves, as well as solutions with no violation of causality

The research aimed two objectives: 1st) identifying and describing the metaphors of the inflation, in a corpus of 18 texts of economic journalism, from Joelmir Beting, written in the last trimester of 2002, at the moment of the government s transition of president Fernando Henrique Cardoso to Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva. 2nd) verifying the recognition of the metaphors by the students of the basic education of a private school from Natal. 91 metaphors had been identified, analyzed in the perspective of the conceptual metaphor s theory, by Lakoff and Johnson (2002), on the basis of the distinction between conceptual metaphor and metaphoric expressions, and between domain-source/domain-target. 10 underlying conceptual metaphors had been inferred, being that the domains-source used more frequently to characterize the inflation had been those ones according to the human being and the animals and, of a less imaginable form, to the ways of transport (car, aircraft). These general conceptual metaphors had been unfolded in other s more specific ones ( animal specifying itself in lion , dragon , dog , etc.). Another result was the identification of metaphoric expressions with two or more meanings , with relation to more than one conceptual metaphor or explicit, in the same expression, two domains-source (for example: armored dragon ) and contributes, of a relevant form, for the semantic struturation of the text. The understanding of the metaphors was verified through an activity of domains-source s identification (10 metaphoric statements and fulfilling of the gap in the phrase the inflation is a/an ) applied in a group of 8th year of the basic education (12-13 years old, with 14 girls and 17 boys) from a school of good social and economic positions from Natal-RN. There weren t great difficulties on the part of the students in recognizing the domains-source involved: about 80% to the great majority of the statements
