Mustafa Sabaroedin is an Indonesian who studied in Australia on two occasions; at Monash University in 1965-1971 and at RMIT in 1978. He also worked in Australia for several years in between these two periods of study. He studied on Colombo Plan scholarships while in Australia, and completed Bachelor and Diploma degrees in Engineering while at Monash University, and continued his studies to improve his qualifications without completing an official degree at RMIT. The interview was conducted in English on 19 December 2013 by Dr. Jemma Purdey of Deakin University. This set comprises: an interview recording, and a timed summary.

Background : An increasing burden of chronic disease and associated health service delivery is expected due to the ageing Australian population. Injuries also affect health and wellbeing and have a long-term impact on health service utilisation. There is a lack of comprehensive data on disease and injury in rural and regional areas of Australia. The aim of the Ageing, Chronic Disease and Injury study is to compile data from various sources to better describe the patterns of chronic disease and injury across western Victoria.

Design : Ecological study.

Methods
: Information on demographics, socioeconomic indicators and lifestyle factors are obtained from health surveys and government departments. Data concerning chronic diseases and injuries will be sourced from various registers, health and emergency services, local community health centres and administrative databases and compiled to generate profiles for the study region and for sub-populations within the region.

Expected impact for public health:
This information is vital to establish current and projected population needs to inform policy and improve targeted health services delivery, care transition needs and infrastructure development. This study provides a model that can be replicated in other geographical settings.

To efficiently and yet accurately cluster Web documents is of great interests to Web users and is a key component of the searching accuracy of a Web search engine. To achieve this, this paper introduces a new approach for the clustering of Web documents, which is called maximal frequent itemset (MFI) approach. Iterative clustering algorithms, such as K-means and expectation-maximization (EM), are sensitive to their initial conditions. MFI approach firstly locates the center points of high density clusters precisely. These center points then are used as initial points for the K-means algorithm. Our experimental results tested on 3 Web document sets show that our MFI approach outperforms the other methods we compared in most cases, particularly in the case of large number of categories in Web document sets.

By the use of the yeast two-hybrid screen we have identified two proteins that interacted with UCH37: S14, which is a subunit of PA700 and a novel protein, UIP1 (UCH37 interacting protein 1). The interaction of UCH37 with S14 or UIP1 was confirmed by in vitro binding assay and in vivo co-immunoprecipitation analysis. The C-terminal extension of UCH37 is essential for interaction with S14 or UIP1 as shown by the yeast two-hybrid assay and the in vitro binding assay. Furthermore, UIP1 blocked the interaction between UCH37 and S14 in vitro.

The purpose of this paper is to present an examination of the contrasting policies towards mandatory folic acid fortification in six countries from different regions of the world. Three questions are addressed: 1) What is the policy of the country? 2) Why was the policy adopted? 3) What lessons have been learned? Policy contrasts among countries were assessed as reflecting different interpretations of the potential risks and benefits associated with folic acid fortification. Although commonalities were identified, it was considered unlikely that there could be a standard policy response for all countries. Instead, a country-by-country policy response based on national circumstances is indicated.

In 1991, the World Health Assembly approved a set of Guiding Principles which emphasize voluntary donation, non-commercialization and a preference for cadavers over living donors” (World Health Organization). The objective of this paper is to identify the factors that affect the ratio of cadaveric transplants to all transplants. This paper first provides informational background on problems surrounding kidney transplants and then uses a theoretical framework which employs standard economic assumptions but incorporates a setup where the persons needing kidneys can obtain it from their compatible relatives or purchase it from individuals who are willing to sell one of their kidneys. The methods of economic theoretical analyses are used where following definitions and assumptions some conclusions are drawn. This paper finds that factors such as inequality, rule of law and religion have significant effect on the ratio of cadaveric transplants to all transplants. The paper concludes that improvement in equality and in rule of law will increase the use of cadaveric kidney transplants. In addition, fighting religious beliefs against cadaveric kidney transplants too will lead to a higher ratio of cadaveric transplants to all transplants.

A few of clustering techniques for categorical data exist to group objects having similar characteristics. Some are able to handle uncertainty in the clustering process while others have stability issues. However, the performance of these techniques is an issue due to low accuracy and high computational complexity. This paper proposes a new technique called maximum dependency attributes (MDA) for selecting clustering attribute. The proposed approach is based on rough set theory by taking into account the dependency of attributes of the database. We analyze and compare the performance of MDA technique with the bi-clustering, total roughness (TR) and min–min roughness (MMR) techniques based on four test cases. The results establish the better performance of the proposed approach.

This thesis examined factors that predict adolescents' professional help seeking when experiencing mental health problems over six months. Factors that strongly predicted help seeking included adolescents' ability to recognise that they were experiencing a problem; the type and severity of the problem experienced; and the preceived support from their family. The portfolio examined the potential benefits of using manualised CBT programs in a more flexible and individualised manner when treating children and adolescents.

This thesis explored the hypothesis that myths + symbols + branding, created the Republic of Türkey's collective group identity, and the identity of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The same formula tested the 'creation' of Europe/EU's group identity. Three formulas were created: bridge-word formula; composite-word formula; cyclical-word formula, to test this premise.

This paper empirically investigates the role of institutions, income inequality,  cultural differences and health expenditures on cadaveric versus total kidney  transplants scrutinizing information gathered from 63 countries over the period  1998-2002. We show that improvements in income equality and the rule of law encourage cadaveric kidney transplants in low-income countries. We find that cultural differences affect the number of cadaveric kidney transplants both in low- and high-income countries.

In previous paper, we introduced a concept of multi-soft sets and used it for finding reducts. However, the comparison of the proposed reduct has not been presented yet, especially with rough-set based reduct. In this paper, we present matrices representation of multi-soft sets. We define AND and OR operations on a collection of such matrices and apply it for finding reducts and core of attributes in a multi-valued information system. Finally, we prove that our proposed technique for reduct is equivalent to Pawlak’s rough reduct.
