Propuesta de mejora en la calidad de los procesos de la empresa Banafruts

El presente documento es una propuesta elaborada para la empresa “Banafruits” a partir de la visita realizada a la finca “Chavela”, lugar donde se realizan todos los procesos productivos del banano. Para su elaboración, se tomaron como base los detalles de cada uno de los pasos que toma el producto, lo cual permitió destacar puntos de mejora para que la empresa a través de su implementación, logre beneficios en la productividad llegando a mejoras en la calidad final de sus productos; tomando en cuenta, cada uno de los procesos diarios que integran su cadena productiva. Para la elaboración de los puntos en los que se basa la propuesta para Banafruts, se abordaron principalmente cuatro elementos: el personal, el tiempo, las herramientas implementadas y las medidas; los cuales deben ser cuidados en conjunto para garantizar el resultado final. Cada uno de los aspectos fue evaluado a través de la implementación de herramientas de calidad cuyos resultados permitieron proponer alternativas para mejorar el desempeño actual de la compañía.

Diagnostic Related Groups (drgs): Resourceful tools for financial crisis times?

This document is intended to be read by the Colombian Ministry of Social Protection (former MoH) and includes some recommendations that could be implemented on the aim to increase allocative efficiency, thus improving macroeconomic performance of the Colombian Health System (CHS). It will be conducted as follows: first it will briefly review the background and actual context of the CHS, after this, will mention some related issues that justify a policy intervention on strategic purchasing to promote long run sustainability and hopefully the future attainment of major goals such as universal coverage and quality improvement. After prioritizing the main financial threats to the system, based on findings from literature review from countries that have successfully implemented similar policies, this paper will make some policy recommendations on regards especially to inpatient health care services in Colombia.

Combination of product quality management and exports: The case of Colombian fruits companies

Quality management provides to companies a framework to improve quality in overall systems, reduction of costs, reallocation of resources efficiently, correct planning of strategies, prevent or correct errors in the right time and increase the performance of companies. In this text, we discuss the different theories in this field, their obligatory or non-obligatory compliance, the importance of quality management for exporting companies and a case study of a Colombian firm that its main objective is to manage quality. In conclusion, we find out that there is different types of quality management systems such as Juran’s trilogy, Deming 14 points, Six sigma, HACCP, and so on; also that companies have to manage suppliers and that quality has a positive influence on exports volume; in the case of Colombian small and medium enterprises, it can be mentioned that the majority has implemented tools regarding quality management but is not enough.
