La tesis doctoral está dividida en 3 partes: La primera presenta la aplicación del grupo TCP a la síntesis de PNAs en fase sólida. La segunda está dedicada a la síntesis de un nuevo tipo de nucleoaminácido para la síntesis de nuevos nucleopéptidos. La tercera está centrada en los estudios iniciales de síntesis de derivados de Pantocina B, un compuesto con propiedades antimicrobianas.

Informed recommender: basing recommendations on consumer product reviews

Recommender systems attempt to predict items in which a user might be interested, given some information about the user's and items' profiles. Most existing recommender systems use content-based or collaborative filtering methods or hybrid methods that combine both techniques (see the sidebar for more details). We created Informed Recommender to address the problem of using consumer opinion about products, expressed online in free-form text, to generate product recommendations. Si3N4 single-crystal nanowires grown from silicon micro- and nanoparticles near the threshold of passive oxidation

A simple and most promising oxide-assisted catalyst-free method is used to prepare silicon nitride nanowires that give rise to high yield in a short time. After a brief analysis of the state of the art, we reveal the crucial role played by the oxygen partial pressure: when oxygen partial pressure is slightly below the threshold of passive oxidation, a high yield inhibiting the formation of any silica layer covering the nanowires occurs and thanks to the synthesis temperature one can control nanowire dimensions
