A informação sobre a formação do custo de produção, a produtividade e conhecimento dos elementos que formam o custo de produção, são fundamentais para a tomada de decisão dos agricultores na adopção de técnicas para a realização das suas actividades agrícolas. Com este trabalho pretende-se analisar a produção, o custo de produção e os níveis de rentabilidade das culturas de tomate, repolho e cenoura comparativamente às duas tecnologias de rega utilizadas, nas condições do cultivo do agricultor da Ilha de Santiago. Para isso foi concebido uma ficha de inquérito, na qual foi registadas todas as informações técnicas e económicas junto dos agricultores referente às culturas mencionadas, à medida que vem se efectuando visitas as suas explorações agrícolas. Os resultados demonstram que produzir cenoura no sistema gota-gota garantam maior produtividade em relação ao sistema tradicional. O mesmo não se pode dizer em relação ao tomate e repolho. Em relação ao custo de produção comparativamente às tecnologias de rega a analise estatística não acusou diferenças significativas. Os resultados demonstram ainda que a produção das citadas culturas em ambas tecnologias é rentável e com a economia de água na ordem dos 50% quando as mesmas são praticadas no sistema gota-gota. Entretanto, concluiu-se que o rendimento do agricultor é determinado pelo nível de produção e pela época de produção, pois no período quente o preço de produtos em causa é mais elevado e consequentemente o produtor arrecada maior receita.

Cape Verde is considered part of Sahelian Africa, where drought and desertification are common occurrences. The main activity of the rural population is rain-fed agriculture, which over time has been increasingly challenged by high temporal and spatial rainfall variability, lack of inputs, limited land area, fragmentation of land, steep slopes, pests, lack of mechanization and loss of top soil by water erosion. Human activities, largely through poor farming practices and deforestation (Gomez, 1989) have accelerated natural erosion processes, shifting the balance between soil erosion and soil formation (Norton, 1987). According to previous studies, vegetation cover is one of the most important factors in controlling soil loss (Cyr et al., 1995; Hupy, 2004; Zhang et al., 2004; Zhou et al., 2006). For this reason, reforestation is a touchstone of the Cape Verdean policy to combat desertification. After Independence in 1975, the Cape Verde government had pressing and closely entangled environmental and socio-economic issues to address, as long-term desertification had resulted in a lack of soil cover, severe soil erosion and a scarcity of water resources and fuel wood. Across the archipelago, desertification was resulting from a variety of processes including poor farming practices, soil erosion by water and wind, soil and water salinity in coastal areas due to over pumping and seawater intrusion, drought and unplanned urbanization (DGA-MAAP, 2004). All these issues directly affected socio-economic vulnerability in rural areas, where about 70% of people depended directly or indirectly on agriculture in 1975. By becoming part of the Inter- State Committee for the Fight against Drought in the Sahel in 1975, the government of Cape Verde gained structured support to address these issues more efficiently. This school in the course of Marketing Business Management and specifically Entrepr This school in the course of Marketing Business Management and specifically Entrepreneurship in the discipline of Simulation - Games Marketing year was accordingly for the creation of a company in the computer business in business online simulator called Marketplace, in order to put into practice all the theoretical knowledge acquired during all previous semesters. This platform we were confronted with decisions in eight quarters corresponding 4 every year , in order to encourage learning in a practical way, a virtual and dynamic environment. Every quarter acareados with well organized tasks taking as a reference point defined strategies such as market research analysis, branding , store management after its creation , development of the policy of the 4Ps , identifying opportunities , monitoring of finances and invest heavily . All quarters were subjected decisions and are then given the results , such as: market performance , financial performance, investments in the future , the "health" of the company 's marketing efficiency then analyzed by our company , teaching and also by competition Balanced Scorecard ie , semi-annual and cumulative . For the start of activities it was awarded the 1st year a total of 2,000,000, corresponding to 500,000 out of 4 first quarter , and 5,000,000 in the fifth quarter in a total of 7,000,000 . The capital invested was used to buy market research, opening sales offices , create brands , contract sales force , advertise products created and perform activity R & D in order to make a profit and become self- sufficient to guarantee the payment of principal invested to headquarters ( Corporate Headquarters ) .
