The purpose of this exploratory research is to identify the potential value drivers regarding a new service offering. More specifically, the aim is to build understanding of customer expectations and perceived value of energy efficiency solutions in the building’s sector. The knowledge is then used in defining potential value drivers. The research is conducted from the customer’s perspective in a business-to-business context. The theory part of the master’s thesis focuses on discussing the antecedents of customer expectations and customer value. The theory gives implications how to determine value drivers and develop value propositions as well as conduct value assessment. The empirical part is based on the qualitative research method. The research was conducted as a single-case study, and the primary data was collected through semi-structured interviews with potential customers. The results of the research revealed that the customer expectations are connected to being able to define value drivers. In addition, the research revealed generic themes relating to the offering and customer-supplier relationship, which help in the process of identifying potential value drivers. The results were discussed in terms of product-, service-, price- and relationship-related value drivers for the new service. Based on the data analysis the dominant value drivers are elaborated in terms of identified customer benefits and customer sacrifices (costs). Finally, some implications of value proposition and value assessment to support the value delivery were given.

This thesis researches the current state of small teleoperated devices, the need for them and developing one. Small teleoperated devices give the possibility to perform tasks that are impossible or dangerous for humans. This work concentrates on small devices and cheap components and discloses one way of developing a teleoperated vehicle, but not necessarily the optimal way. Development and the current state of teleoperation were studied by a literature review, in which the data was searched from literature as well as from the Internet. The need for teleoperated devices was mapped through a survey, where 11 professionals from variating fields were interviewed how they could utilize a teleoperated devices and with what kind of features. Also, a prototype was built as a proof of concept of small teleoperated devices. The prototype is controlled by a single-board microcomputer that also streams video to the controlling device. The video can be viewed on a display or with a head mounted display.

Biodegradable waste quantities in Lithuania and their potential for the co-treatment in renewable energy and organic fertilizer production are investigated. Two scenarios are formulated to study the differences of the amounts of obtainable energy and fertilizers between different ways of utilization. In the first scenario, only digestion is used, and in the second scenario, other materials than straw are digested, and straw and the solid fraction of sewage sludge digestate are combusted. As a result, the amounts of heat and electricity, as well as the fertilizer amounts in the counties are obtained for both scenarios. Based on this study, the share of renewable energy in Lithuania could be doubled by the co-treatment of different biodegradable materials.
