Se presentan de forma resumida los resultados geoambientales obtenidos en el estudio de un término municipal motivado más por sistemática de planteamiento por parte del responsable del Plan General, que por cuestión concreta planteada sobre este ámbito en aquel término municipal. Así y todo, la información obtenida influye sobre el Plan y pone de manifiesto circunstancias qenerales que sin ser aqudas son persistentes en el tiempo, por razones obvias del ámbito terrestre, al que pertenecen

L'objectiu d'aquest article és mostrar els parámetres clàssics de Shadowlands de R. Attenborough, amb guió de W. Nicholson, sobre la vida i obra de C. S. Lewis. Basant-se en una anàlisi acurada dels textos de Lewis, l'autor proposa d'interpretar l'oposició Lewis / Gresham com la traducció en la vida real de la oposició entre els temperaments platònic o idealista i aristotèlic o materialista que ja mencionava Coleridge. En qualsevol cas, són moltes les referències clàssiques que cal tenir en compte si volem comprendre fins a quin punt el cristianisme de Lewis és també un cristianisme clàssic, és a dir, grecollatí.

El objetivo de este artículo es mostrar los parámetros clásicos de Shadowlands de R. Attenborough, con guión de W. Nicholson, sobre la vida y obra de C. S. Lewis. Basándose en un análisis minucioso de los textos de Lewis, el autor propone interpretar la oposición Lewis / Gresham como la traducción en la vida real de la oposición entre los temperamentos platónico o idealista y aristotélico o materialista que ya mencionaba Coleridge. En cualquier caso, son muchas las referencias clásicas que hay que tener en cuenta si se quiere comprender hasta qué punto el cristianismo de Lewis es también un cristianismo clásico, es decir grecolatino.

Classical parameters of Shadowlands by Richard Attenborough (On C. S. Lewis's Life and Work)

The aim of this article is to show the classical parameters of Shadowlands by R. Attenborough, with a screenplay by W. Nicholson, on C. S. Lewis's life and work. Based upon an accurate reading of Lewis's works, the author of this article proposes to interpret the opposition Lewis / Gresham as the translation into the real life of the opposition between the Platonic or idealistic and the Aristotelian or materialistic temperaments which was already maintained by Coleridge. In any case, there are many classical references which must be taken into account in order to understand to what extent C. S. Lewis's Christianity is also a classic Christianity, that is, a Greek and Latin one.

Phylogenetic studies in Gnaphalieae (Compositae): The genera Phagnalon Cass. and Aliella Qaiser & Lack

The precise generic delimitation of Aliella andPhagnalon, and their closest relatives within the Gnaphalieae are discussed in this review. Among the main results obtained, wehave found that the genera Aliella and Phagnalon are nested withinthe “Relhania clade” and Anisothrix, Athrixia and Pentatrichia aretheir closest relatives. Macowania is also part of the “Relhaniaclade”, whereas the subtribal affinities of Philyrophyllum liewithin the “crown radiation clade”. The monophyly of Aliellaand Phagnalon is not supported statistically. In addition,Aliella appears to be paraphylethic in most of the analysesperformed. The resulting phylogeny suggests an African origin forthe ancestor of Aliella and Phagnalon and identifies three mainclades within Phagnalon that constitute the following naturalgroups on a geographic basis: (1) the Irano-Turanian clade; (2) the Mediterranean-Macaronesian clade; and (3) the Yemen-Ethiopian clade. Some endemics to Yemen and Ethiopia appeared merged in the Mediterranean-Macaronesian clade, providing new evidence of the phytogeographical links betweenMacaronesia, Eastern Africa and Southern Arabia. Incongruities between thechloroplast and nuclear molecular data and the lack of resolution in some clades mayindicate that hybridization could have played an important role in the evolution anddiversification of both Phagnalon and Aliella.

Cocoa flavonoid-enriched diet modulates systemic and intestinal immunoglobulin synthesis in adult Lewis rats

Previous studies have reported that a diet containing 10% cocoa, a rich source of flavonoids, has immunomodulatory effects on rats and, among others effects, is able to attenuate the immunoglobulin (Ig) synthesis in both systemic and intestinal compartments. The purpose of the present study was focused on investigating whether these effects were attributed exclusively to the flavonoid content or to other compounds present in cocoa. To this end, eight-week-old Lewis rats were fed, for two weeks, either a standard diet or three isoenergetic diets containing increasing proportions of cocoa flavonoids from different sources: one with 0.2% polyphenols from conventional defatted cocoa, and two others with 0.4% and 0.8% polyphenols, respectively, from non-fermented cocoa. Diet intake and body weight were monitored and fecal samples were obtained throughout the study to determine fecal pH, IgA, bacteria proportions, and IgA-coated bacteria. Moreover, IgG and IgM concentrations in serum samples collected during the study were quantified. At the end of the dietary intervention no clear changes of serum IgG or IgM concentrations were quantified, showing few effects of cocoa polyphenol diets at the systemic level. However, in the intestine, all cocoa polyphenol-enriched diets attenuated the age-related increase of both fecal IgA and IgA-coated bacteria, as well as the proportion of bacteria in feces. As these effects were not dependent on the dose of polyphenol present in the diets, other compounds and/or the precise polyphenol composition present in cocoa raw material used for the diets could be key factors in this effect.

Applications of optically active metallacycles: new useful materials for the determination of the enantiomeric excess of Lewis bases and as resolving agents for monodentate phosphines

Es descriu la síntesi de nous compostos ciclopal·ladats derivats d'imines i amines primàries, òpticament actius, així com les seves aplicacions per a la determinació de l'excés enantiomèric i per a la resolució de bases de Lewis. També es comenta la síntesi i resolució de noves fosfines P-quirals, així com la seva aplicació a processos de catàlisi asimètrica. A més, es descriu la preparació d'algunes fosfines secundàries quirals i s'estudia la seva estabilitat configuracional.

Clarke critical values of subanalytic Lipschitz continuous functions

We prove that any subanalytic locally Lipschitz function has the Sard property. Such functions are typically nonsmooth and their lack of regularity necessitates the choice of some generalized notion of gradient and of critical point. In our framework these notions are defined in terms of the Clarke and of the convex-stable subdifferentials. The main result of this note asserts that for any subanalytic locally Lipschitz function the set of its Clarke critical values is locally finite. The proof relies on Pawlucki's extension of the Puiseuxlemma. In the last section we give an example of a continuous subanalytic function which is not constant on a segment of "broadly critical" points, that is, points for which we can find arbitrarily short convex combinations of gradients at nearby points.

Reduction, Linearization and stability of relative equilibria for mechanical systems on riemannian manifolds

Consider a Riemannian manifold equipped with an infinitesimal isometry. For this setup, a unified treatment is provided, solely in the language of Riemannian geometry, of techniques in reduction, linearization, and stability of relative equilibria. In particular, for mechanical control systems, an explicit characterization is given for the manner in which reduction by an infinitesimal isometry, and linearization along a controlled trajectory "commute." As part of the development, relationships are derived between the Jacobi equation of geodesic variation and concepts from reduction theory, such as the curvature of the mechanical connection and the effective potential. As an application of our techniques, fiber and base stability of relative equilibria are studied. The paper also serves as a tutorial of Riemannian geometric methods applicable in the intersection of mechanics and control theory.

Canvi i transició en els serveis públics

Les biblioteques universitàries, i els bibliotecaris que hi treballen, estan immersos en un procés de transformació important des dels anys vuitanta. El nou context educatiu, econòmic i tecnològic ha fet que les biblioteques es replantegin el model tradicional (límits entre serveis tècnics i serveis públics, repartiment de tasques i recursos, etc. ) a la vegada que intenten dissenyar nous serveis adients a les canviants necessitats formatives i informatives dels seus usuaris. Per a dur a terme el canvi, cal gestionar el període de transició des de diversos enfocaments: personal (involucrant els bibliotecaris en l'estratègia de canvi), organitzatiu (reassignant responsabilitats i recursos dins la biblioteca) i institucional (creant enllaços amb altres unitats i serveis de la universitat).

Una estratègia per a les biblioteques acadèmiques del primer quart del segle XXI

L'extensió de l'aplicació de les tecnologies digitals a les comunicacions acadèmiques ha estat tal que ha alterat el model de servei que les biblioteques acadèmiques havien estat oferint durant el darrer segle. Tenint en compte el creixement explosiu del contingut digital en el web, avui en dia no està gaire clar el que hauria de ser una biblioteca acadèmica. Aquest article és un intent de proporcionar a les biblioteques acadèmiques una estratègia per el que queda del primer quart de segle XXI. El model té cinc elements: 1) completar el pas de les col·leccions en paper a les col·leccions en format electrònic; 2) retirar col·leccions patrimonials ("legacy")impreses; 3) redistribuir l'espai de la biblioteca; 4) modificar l’orientació dels instruments, els recursos i els coneixements tècnics de la biblioteca i la informació; 5) traslladar el focus de les col·leccions de l'adquisició de fons a la gestió del contingut. Es tindran en compte cadascun dels elements de l'estratègia i les seves interaccions. Es d'esperar que el resultat proporcioni un mapa útil per les biblioteques acadèmiques i els campus als quals donen servei.

Canvi de format i de sistema: noves prestacions en la catalogació cooperativa

L'any 2008 el Catàleg Col·lectiu de les universitats de Catalunya (CCUC) juntament amb els altres catàlegs de les institucions del Consorci de Biblioteques Universitàries de Catalunya (CBUC) han migrat de sistema de gestió de biblioteques. Això ha comportat una sèrie de canvis i aprenentatges que han anat des de la realització del procés de conversió del format MARC de les dades i la reelaboració de les Pautes de catalogació del CCUC, fins a catalogar amb les noves prestacions catalogràfiques del nou sistema. Es tracta d’un article tècnic que fa primer un breu resum dels antecedents, explica el procés de planificació i d’implementació del nou sistema en el CBUC, els treballs fets pel canvi de format de les dades bibliogràfiques i d’autoritat, i fa especial èmfasi en les noves prestacions catalogràfiques. Finalment inclou unes pinzellades sobre les possibilitats que ja estan permetent i permetran en un futur tots aquests canvis.

De CATMARC a MARC 21: actuacions del Consorci de Biblioteques Universitàries de Catalunya

Aquesta comunicació descriu el procés de preparació dels registres bibliogràfics del Catàleg Col·lectiu de les Universitats de Catalunya (CCUC) i dels catàlegs locals que el conformen, per al canvi del format CATMARC al format MARC 21.

Generic optimality conditions for semi-algebraic convex programs

We consider linear optimization over a nonempty convex semi-algebraic feasible region F. Semidefinite programming is an example. If F is compact, then for almost every linear objective there is a unique optimal solution, lying on a unique \active" manifold, around which F is \partly smooth", and the second-order sufficient conditions hold. Perturbing the objective results in smooth variation of the optimal solution. The active manifold consists, locally, of these perturbed optimal solutions; it is independent of the representation of F, and is eventually identified by a variety of iterative algorithms such as proximal and projected gradient schemes. These results extend to unbounded sets F.
