Anna Senyé Ramisa (Manlleu, 1881-Barcelona, 1956) fou una dona de caràcter aventurer que va tenir una vida poc convencional. Va escriure en diferents revistes i diaris catalans des de 1914 i durant la primera meitat del segle xx, com a poeta, periodista i activista social, amb la publicació d’articles i manifestos en defensa dels drets dels animals. Senyé també participà en els Jocs Florals i va guanyar-hi premis en els celebrats a l’Escala i a Molins de Rei. L’any 1922 va publicar el seu treball poètic en un volum, Remolinada.

A broad and simple method permitted halide ions in quaternary heteroaromatic and ammonium salts to be exchanged for a variety of anions using an anion exchange resin (A− form) in non-aqueous media. The anion loading of the AER (OH− form) was examined using two different anion sources, acids or ammonium salts, and changing the polarity of the solvents. The AER (A− form) method in organic solvents was then applied to several quaternary heteroaromatic salts and ILs, and the anion exchange proceeded in excellent to quantitative yields, concomitantly removing halide impurities. Relying on the hydrophobicity of the targeted ion pair for the counteranion swap, organic solvents with variable polarity were used, such as CH3OH, CH3CN and the dipolar nonhydroxylic solvent mixture CH3CN:CH2Cl2 (3:7) and the anion exchange was equally successful with both lipophilic cations and anions.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: A smoking law was passed by the Spanish Parliament in December 2005 and was enforced by 1 January 2006. The law bans smoking in all indoor workplaces but only in some hospitality venues, because owners are allowed to establish a smoking zone (venues>100 m2) or to allow smoking without restrictions (venues<100 m2). The objective of the study is to assess the impact of the Spanish smoking law on exposure to secondhand smoke (SHS) in enclosed workplaces, including hospitality venues. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study design is a before-and-after evaluation. We studied workplaces and hospitality venues from eight different regions of Spain. We took repeated samples of vapor-phase nicotine concentration in 398 premises, including private offices (162), public administration offices (90), university premises (43), bars and restaurants (79), and discotheques and pubs (24). RESULTS: In the follow-up period, SHS levels were markedly reduced in indoor offices. The median decrease in nicotine concentration ranged from 60.0% in public premises to 97.4% in private areas. Nicotine concentrations were also markedly reduced in bars and restaurants that became smoke-free (96.7%) and in the no-smoking zones of venues with separate spaces for smokers (88.9%). We found no significant changes in smoking zones or in premises allowing smoking, including discotheques and pubs. CONCLUSIONS: Overall, this study shows the positive impact of the law on reducing SHS in indoor workplaces. However, SHS was substantially reduced only in bars and restaurants that became smoke-free. Most hospitality workers continue to be exposed to very high levels of SHS. Therefore, a 100% smoke-free policy for all hospitality venues is required.

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar los resultados de un proceso de innovación docente que ha llevado a cabo el equipo del practicum de educación social de la Universidad de Barcelona, en dos niveles diferentes: la supervisión y la evaluación en la transferencia de competencias. El primer aspecto centra la mirada en la supervisión de los estudiantes para el desarrollo de su identidad y rol profesional. En este marco, el artículo presenta las funciones, y competencias que le subyacen de la supervisión en los diferentes momentos del proceso de las prácticas. El segundo aspecto aborda la evaluación de los aprendizajes de las prácticas. En este sentido, se presenta un instrumento que permite concretar los estándares de cada competencia con el fin de valorar el proceso de adquisición y aprendizaje. Este instrumento pretende informar a los estudiantes, de forma transparente, de los criterios por los cuáles van a ser evaluados, as como también, establecer un instrumento de registro para que los diferentes agentes educativos recojan el grado de consecución de las competencias en diferentes momentos del curso. En definitiva, se defiende la supervisión y la evaluación como elementos clave del proceso formativo activo y transformador de la formación de la identidad profesional. We uncover the global organization of clustering in real complex networks. To this end, we ask whether triangles in real networks organize as in maximally random graphs with given degree and clustering distributions, or as in maximally ordered graph models where triangles are forced into modules. The answer comes by way of exploring m-core landscapes, where the m-core is defined, akin to the k-core, as the maximal subgraph with edges participating in at least m triangles. This property defines a set of nested subgraphs that, contrarily to k-cores, is able to distinguish between hierarchical and modular architectures. We find that the clustering organization in real networks is neither completely random nor ordered although, surprisingly, it is more random than modular. This supports the idea that the structure of real networks may in fact be the outcome of self-organized processes based on local optimization rules, in contrast to global optimization principles.

Hypertension is a major public health problem and a leading cause of death and disability in both developed and developing countries, affecting onequarter of the world"s adult population. Our aim was to evaluate whether the consumption of gazpacho, a Mediterranean vegetable-based cold soup rich in phytochemicals, is associated with lower blood pressure (BP) and/or reduced prevalence of hypertension in individuals at high cardiovascular risk. Methods and results: We selected 3995 individuals (58% women, mean age 67 y) at high cardiovascular risk (81% hypertensive) recruited into the PREDIMED study. BP, weight, and dietary and physical activity data were collected. In multivariate linear regression analyses, after adjustment, moderate and high gazpacho consumption categories were associated with reduced mean systolic BP of 1.9 mm Hg [95% confidence interval (CI): 3.4; 0.6] and 2.6 mm Hg (CI: 4.2; 1.0), respectively, and reduced diastolic BP of 1.5 mm Hg (CI: 2.3; 0.6) and 1.9 mm Hg (CI: 2.8; 1.1). By multiple-adjusted logistic regression analysis, gazpacho consumption was associated with a lower prevalence of hypertension, with OR Z 0.85 (CI: 0.73; 0.99) for each 250 g/week increase and OR Z 0.73 (CI: 0.55; 0.98) for high gazpacho consumption groups compared to the no-consumption group. Conclusions: Gazpacho consumption was inversely associated with systolic and diastolic BP and prevalence of hypertension in a cross-sectional Mediterranean population at high cardiovascular risk. The association between gazpacho intake and reduction of BP is probably due to synergy among several bioactive compounds present in the vegetable ingredients used to make the recipe.

El proyecto de innovación docente que se presenta pretende introducir en los estudiantes, el concepto de promoción de la salud basada en la evidencia, mediante la revisión documental y análisis de programas. El trabajo colaborativo interuniversitario para la elaboración de instrumentos y material docente para las buenas prácticas, mediante estrategias efectivas y recursos innovadores, servirá de orientación para establecer criterios de evaluación de programas y de guía para la práctica profesional.

Integrar docencia e investigación en el ámbito del consumo de fármacos y el uso de terapias complementarias por los estudiantes universitarios de Enfermería y de Administración y Dirección de Empresas (ADE) frente a los trastornos de salud. El objetivo docente es fomentar la competencia transversal “Capacidad de aprendizaje y Responsabilidad” relacionada con la integración los conocimientos necesarios para poder cuidarse y prevenir riesgos. Los resultados del estudio se comunicarán a través del Campus Virtual a los alumnos de las dos facultades (asignaturas a concretar por los profesores de los dos centros) e irán acompañados de un feed-back con recomendaciones sobre el uso responsable de fármacos y terapias complementarias.
