La comunicación pretende ser una aproximación holística a la Seguridad Marítima, enel sentido aristotélico del término: “el todo es mayor que la suma de sus partes». Elholismo es el tratamiento de un tema de tal forma que se consideren todos suscomponentes, incluyendo sus relaciones invisibles pero igualmente evidentes oexistentes. El elemento central del discurso es el tratamiento del riesgo: partiendo que elriesgo, en cualquier actividad humana nunca es 0, la seguridad se reduce a una opciónentre riesgos. Cuando hablamos de riesgo, debemos abordarlo desde una tripledimensión: el análisis del riesgo, la evaluación del riesgo y de manera principal lagestión del riesgo. La seguridad siempre es una opción de riesgo.

Hacia el liaison librarian: transformación de servicios bibliotecarios para dar apoyo a la docencia en la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC)

Es descriu la transformació esdevinguda en els últims dos anys en un dels dos grups operatius de la Biblioteca Virtual de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), l'equip de Serveis de Biblioteca per a l'Aprenentatge (SBA), que té com a objectiu principal el suport al procés d'aprenentatge i la docència. Es descriu en detall l'elaboració d'una carta de serveis específica per als docents, el propòsit del qual és acompanyar-los en la recerca i selecció de recursos d'aprenentatge per a les assignatures que s'imparteixen a la UOC.

Camino hacia el coraje: terapia de constructos personales en un caso de depresión mayor, fibromialgia y otras comorbilidades

Se presenta el caso de Sara, una mujer con fibromialgia, depresión, y otras comorbilidades. A nivel psicológico, una de sus mayores dificultades estriba en poner límites a los demás. Ello perjudica la relación que mantiene tanto con sus seres queridos como con ella misma. Analizando sus constructos personales con la técnica de rejilla y la autocaracterización se observa que vive como incompatibles la satisfacción de sus necesidades y el acceder a las demandas de los demás. Termina por ceder con el fin de preservar para sí misma una imagen de buena persona que resulta central en su sentido de identidad y nuclear en su sistema de constructos. La terapia de constructos personales realizada en un formato breve aborda este dilema y se producen algunos cambios significativos que perduran al seguimiento.

Pensamiento geográfico versus teoría de la comunicación. Hacia un modelo de análisis comunicativo del paisaje

The study of the communicative implications related to landscapes opens a wide range of possibilities concerning the treatment of the communication and landscape relationship. Issues such as the effects of the landscape on the processes of human communication (intrapersonal and interpersonal communication), the follow-up of the communicative processes by means of which the landscape becomes an object of trade (mass communication), the construction of individual and collective imaginaries arising from the citizenship and landscape exchange and, recently, the construction of territorial identities through the production of a brand image of a city or country (i. e., tourist promotion, city marketing and branding). All of them have important implications in the contemporary societies. For that reason, it appears almost essential to progress towards a communicative landscape model, a target which becomes possible if we interrelate geography and communication studies, two fields apparently unrelated one another concerning their origins and practice, although they are very close if we look at the recent evolution of their paradigms and the approach to certain concepts, such as space and landscape.

Hacia una mayor incorporación de la perspectiva del paciente en el diseño de los instrumentos de evaluación de la efectividad y calidad de los cuidados

Sin duda alguna, nadie está mejor situado que el paciente mismo a la hora de aprehender su propio punto de vista sobre la experiencia y el resultado de unos cuidados o unas intervenciones. Por ello solo mirando a través de los ojos del paciente veremos cómo mejorar los cuidados que dispensamos. Posibilitar unos cuidados realmente centrados en el paciente requiere una evaluación de dichos cuidados igualmente centrada en el paciente. Dicha evaluación únicamente será posible si, entre otros requisitos como el de la firmeza psicométrica, se considera el grado de incorporación de la perspectiva de los pacientes en el instrumento antes de seleccionar alguno entre los disponibles, o se estima previamente el grado de sensibilidad hacia dicha perspectiva en el caso de que únicamente existan cuestionarios desarrollados sin la participación directa de los pacientes. Asimismo, si el objetivo de alguna de vuestras investigaciones futuras fuera desarrollar un nuevo instrumento de medida, dicho grado de incorporación de la perspectiva del paciente es un aspecto primordial a considerar y fortalecer.

Comunicar la ciudad desde el paisaje: hacia una teoría del landscape branding

The need to decode landscape meanings, the society- landscape interaction (intra- and inter-personal communication) and, more recently, the uses of landscape as a territorial sight linked to advertising communication, citymarketing or place branding (mass communication) highlights the study of landscape persuasion, which includes clear emotional, symbolic and, therefore, communicative aspects. The landscape, as a territory image or face, gathers the essence of the implicit message in the space, thus working as a great metaphor for city communication. Regarding the foregoing, specific communication research with intangible landscapes —together with the recent emergence of emotional geographies— suggests a new territorial message theory based on the union of geographical, landscape, emotional and communicational variables. Landscape has historically been studied by geographers, architects, historians or sociologists, among others researchers, but it has not been analysed from communicational viewpoints. In this sense, the proliferation of analyses highlighting the role played by the territory as a communication mediator in the interaction process between society and its spaces (cognition and/or perception) is also remarkable. Current sales of territorial identities lead to increases in the production of territory brands, which have gathered a noticeable relevance within the last years.

Hacia la autoformación permanente de los docentes en las comunidades de práctica: los talleres de internet en el Aula

El objetivo principal de este trabajo es determinar si las comunidades virtuales de práctica son un espacio adecuado para la autoformación de los docentes. Con este fin, primero se especifican algunos conceptos clave que ayuden a contextualizar el tema de la formación; en segundo lugar se recogen los rasgos que se consideran hoy necesarios para llevar a cabo la labor docente, dibujándose así el perfil “ideal” del profesor en el contexto actual desde distintos ángulos de vista; y por último, se narran algunas experiencias personales en las redes sociales para ilustrar el funcionamiento de este nuevo paradigma social.

Of the many dimensions of the problem of violence exercised by men toward women in the context of the relations of partner or ex partner, this article deals with the analysis of the discursive productions of the institutional actors that are part of the judicial process. Our intention is to investigate the relationship between criminal law and gender-based violence starting from the implementation of the Law of Integral Gender-based Violence in Spain (LO. 1 / 2004) from a theoretical perspective which includes contributions from social psychology, and socio-legal feminism. We have approached the legal instrument - the Law of Integral Gender-based Violence - through the discourse of legal officers with a perspective that questions the values, so often proclaimed, of universality, objectivity and neutrality of the law
