The aim of this studywas to adapt and assess the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the sMARS in terms of evidence of validity and reliability of scores. The sMARS was administered to 342 students and, in order to assess convergent and discriminant validity, several subsamples completed a series of related tests. The factorial structure of the sMARSwas analyzed by means of a confirmatory factor analysis and results showed that the three-factor structure reported in the original test fits well with the data. Thus, three dimensions were established in the test: math test, numerical task and math course anxiety. The results of this study provide sound evidence that demonstrates the good psychometric properties of the scores of the Spanish version of the sMARS: strong internal consistency, high 7-week testretest reliability and good convergent/discriminant validity were evident. Overall, this study provides an instrument that allows us to obtain valid and reliable math anxiety measurements. This instrument may be a useful tool for educators and psychologists interested in identifying individuals that may have a low level of math mastery because of their anxiety.

In response to an increasing need for ever-shorter personality instruments, Gosling, Rentfrow, and Swann (2003) developed the Ten-Item-Personality Inventory (TIPI), which measures the dimensions of the Five Factor Model (FFM) using 10 items (two for each dimension) and can be administered in about one minute. In two studies and using a multi-judge (self and observer) and multi-instrument design, we develop Spanish (Castilian) and Catalan versions of the TIPI and evaluate them in terms of internal consistency, test-retest reliability, convergent, discriminant, and content validity, as well as self-observer correlations. Test-retest correlations were strong, and convergence with the NEO-PI-R factors was significant. There were also strong correlations between observer ratings and the participants’ self-ratings. Despite some inconsistencies with respect to the Agreeableness scale, the Catalan translation and both translations into Spanish of the original TIPI demonstrated sufficient psychometric properties to warrant use as a Five Factor personality measure when the use of longer instruments is not convenient or possible. Furthermore, as the first translation of a brief standard Big Five Instrument into Catalan, this work should facilitate future research on personality in the Catalan-speaking population.

The business incubators were newness in Catalonia during the last decade. They proliferated throughout all catalan geography, although during the last three years there have appeared some stabilization signals in the sector. Actually, it has only been created two new business incubators and the existing ones have not increased their supply, neither in physical available space nor in new services. It is observed that the profile of the existing incubators explains the strong presence of service companies. Thus, a clear attempt of specialization of the incubators is detected. At the same time, the virtual incubators and incubators linked to universities are arising new models that could be the paradigm of business incubators from now on

Healthcare accreditation models generally include indicators related to healthcare employees' perceptions (e.g. satisfaction, career development, and health safety). During the accreditation process, organizations are asked to demonstrate the methods with which assessments are made. However, none of the models provide standardized systems for the assessment of employees. In this study, we analyzed the psychometric properties of an instrument for the assessment of nurses' perceptions as indicators of human capital quality in healthcare organizations. The Human Capital Questionnaire was applied to a sample of 902 nurses in four European countries (Spain, Portugal, Poland, and the UK). Exploratory factor analysis identified six factors: satisfaction with leadership, identification and commitment, satisfaction with participation, staff well-being, career development opportunities, and motivation. The results showed the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, which when applied to healthcare organizations, provide a better understanding of nurses' perceptions, and is a parsimonious instrument for assessment and organizational accreditation. From a practical point of view, improving the quality of human capital, by analyzing nurses and other healthcare employees' perceptions, is related to workforce empowerment.

El 25 de gener d’enguany el Consell Executiu de la Generalitat va aprovar el Pla de Recerca i Innovació (PRI) 2005-2008. El PRI és un dels principals instruments de la Generalitat per impulsar les activitats de recerca, desenvolupament i innovació en els sectors públic i privat, i per poder assolir l’objectiu d’inversió d’un 2,1% en recerca respecte al producte interior brut català l’any 2008. El PRI ha estat elaborat durant l’any 2004 pel Departament d’Universitats, Recerca i Societat de la Informació, el Departament de Treball i Indústria. El Consell Interdepartamental de Recerca i Innovació Tecnològica, n’ha coordinat l’elaboració, alhora que ha facilitat la col·laboració dels altres departaments de la Generalitat. L’article descriu la importància de la recerca, el desenvolupament i la innovació per al progrés econòmic, social i cultural, en el que ja s’anomena societat o economia del coneixement. Es fa un repàs dels criteris i mecanismes emprats per elaborar el Pla, així com una anàlisi de la situació de la ciència, la innovació i la transferència de coneixements i de tecnologia a Catalunya. Es descriuen a continuació els principals trets d’aquest pla: missió, objectius, programes transversals i complementaris, línies prioritàries, estratègia sectorial. Finalment, es descriuen els disset indicadors genèrics de recerca i innovació que seran emprats pel seu seguiment, juntament amb el pressupost destinat a l’execució del PRI

També es posa l'accent en la introducció de la poda de l'arbre familiar com una opció poc a tenir en compte en la dinàmica pròpia de l'Empresa Familiar.

One of the goals of psychological assessment focuses on the adaptation of its instruments to different populations. The objective of this study is to establish the psychometric properties and dimensional structure of the Spanish version of the Coping Responses Inventory- Adult Form (CRI-Adult, Moos, 1993). The following criteria were analyzed: a) descriptive statistics; b) internal consistency reliability (Cronbach"s alpha, and intercorrelations between scales); c) test-retest reliability (4-week interval); d) dimensionality of CRI-Adult (exploratory factor analysis); e) construct validity (confirmatory factor analysis); f) convergent criterion validity (correlations between CRI-Adult and Coping Strategies Indicator, CSI, Amirkhan, 1990), and g) predictive criterion validity (correlations between CRI-Adult, and SCL-90-R, Derogatis, 1983). The results, obtained with 800 adults from Barcelona and surrounding area (334 men and 466 women, aged between 18 to 76 years) indicate that the Spanish version of CRIAdult has satisfactory psychometric properties that allow using this test with guarantee.

The aim of this research is to examine the psychometric properties of a Spanish version of the Human System Audit transformational leadership short-scale (HSA-TFL-ES). It is based on the concept of Bass developed in 1985. The HSA-TFL is a part of the wider Human System Audit frame. We analyzed the HSA-TFL-ES in five different samples with a total number of 1,718 workers at five sectors. Exploratory Factor Analysis corroborated a single factor in all samples that accounted for 66% to 73% of variance. The internal consistency in all samples was good (α = .92 - .95). Evidence was found for the convergent validity of the HSA-TFL-ES and the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire. These results suggested that the HSA-TFL short-scale is a psychometrically sound measure of this construct and can be used for a combined and first overall measurement.

Presentem el Projecte d'Innovació Docent que es porta a terme des de la Unitat d'Infermeria de Salut Mental de l'Escola d'Infermeria de la Universitat de Barcelona dins de la formació especialitzada d'Infermeria de Salut Mental. Aquesta especialitat es desenvolupa en règim de residència clínica on el EIR (Enfermero Interno Residente) rep formació des de l'àmbit assistencial i docent. El portafoli de l'alumne es planteja com un instrument d'autoaprenentatge reflexiu que ha de contribuir a facilitar l'adaptació de la formació global del EIR als criteris del Espai Europeu de Formació Superior on el treball de l'alumne (concretat en el crèdit ECTS) és l'eix central de les metodologies docents.

The aim of this study is to measure the psychometric properties of a Catalan translation of the Approaches and Study Skills Inventory for Students (ASSIST), and to analyse the different learning styles used by university students, considering the influence of gender and type of studies. The instrument was administered to 834 students at the University of Girona. The results showed that most students interviewed had a deep approach to learning, although the analysis by gender showed that females tended to use a more strategic approach, while males used a deep approach predominantly. As to whether the type of studies influenced learning styles, a prevalence of deep approach was found among Science and Technology students, while a more strategic approach was found among Humanities and Education students

Actualment, és cada vegada més present en la nostra societat la paraula inclusió i més concretament en el nostre àmbit educatiu, el concepte d’educació inclusiva. Aquest treball pretén presentar una eina adaptada i traduïda al català anomenada Student Program Observation Tools, la qual serveix per fer un anàlisi d’una de les mesures d’atenció a la diversitat: els Plans Individualitzats, per tal de millorar-ne el contingut i ésser una ajuda per a les escoles però també perquè els alumnes amb necessitats educatives especials puguin tenir accés al currículum ordinari com la resta dels seus companys de classe.

Sempre és difícil assignar un origen a les iniciatives socials perquè, la majoria de vegades, solen resultar conseqüència de l'esforç col.lectiu de moltes persones i institucions. De totes formes podríem dir que del Col·legi Professional se'n parla, en molts dels àmbits de l'educació social, des de mitjans dels anys vuitanta. De fet, ja en la I Trobada d'Educadors Especialitzats Faustino Guerau (Barcelona, octubre de 1988), en parlar de les formes organitzatives del col.lectiu professional, ja va fer aparició aquest objectiu. Però llavors, ni tan sols existien associacions d'educadors en tot l'Estat espanyol, ni una Federació que les coordinés. El tema es reprèn en el I Congrés d'Educadors de Pamplona (març de 1987) i en el X Col.loqui Internacional de la AIEJI(J) (Barcelona, novembre de 1989). La prioritat es fixà en la creació de la Diplomatura i en això es posaren tots els esforços fins 1991. Després va seguir un període de crisi en les Associacions d'Educadors que se supera a finals del 1993. D'aquesta crisi se'n surt col·lectivament, amb una sèrie d'objectius entre els que ocupa un espai central el Col·legi Oficial. Així doncs, en el I Congrés de l'Educador Social d'abril de 1995 a Múrcia, un dels àmbits temàtics oberts fou el del Col·legi Professional. Més en concret, l' Associació Professiona1 d'Educadors Socials de Catalunya -APESC-, escull des del 1994, aquesta com una de les seves fites fonamentals per al bienni 1994-96. I en aquesta línia inicia des del 94 diferents contactes instituciona1s, polítics, amb altres col.lectius professionals, a1umnes ...
