La evolución del turismo residencial ha provocado cambios fundamentales en las regiones mediterráneas. Los estudiosos de este proceso han fijado su atención en los aspectos relacionados con la cultura material y la estructura social. Por eso, son mayoría las investigaciones que hacen hincapié en el análisis de las dinámicas urbanísticas, los perfiles socioeconómicos de los turistas y los protagonistas de los distintos tipos de movilidad residencial, los impactos ecológicos o los cambios en las estructuras demográficas. Reconociendo la necesidad y la importancia de estos trabajos, aquí se propone recuperar el valor central de la cultura no material como factor explicativo. A partir de la teoría política del discurso de E. Laclau, se identifican y analizan las características de las principales posiciones ideológicas que actualmente compiten por conseguir una posición de hegemonía en el sistema turístico-residencial que se articula en las sociedades mediterráneas. El trabajo de campo realizado a través de la a licación de 37 entrevistas en profundidad y 6 grupos de discusión permite reconocer qué actores sociales se asocian a las posiciones más enconadas y cuál es la lógica de actuación de cada una.

Una de las principales líneas de trabajo del grupo de investigación EDUTIC-ADEI de la Universidad de Alicante se centra en el ámbito de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) relacionadas con la Educación. Desde el año 2006 este grupo de investigación ha estado trabajando de manera interdisciplinar, entre otras líneas temáticas relacionadas, en lo que se refiere a la integración de las TIC en la docencia universitaria. En este vídeo, se presenta una de las experiencias educativas que se han desarrollado en el seno de EDUTIC-ADEI en la cual alumnos del Grado de Maestro en Educación Primaria y en Educación Infantil han utilizado software social para elaborar y publicar e-contenidos (contenidos en formato electrónico) que puedan utilizarse en el ámbito educativo, aprovechando de esta manera los recursos multimedia, hipertextuales y telemáticos que ofrece Internet para compartir conocimiento (ver http://recursosedutic.blogspot.com.es/).

Context: Today’s project managers have a myriad of methods to choose from for the development of software applications. However, they lack empirical data about the character of these methods in terms of usefulness, ease of use or compatibility, all of these being relevant variables to assess the developer’s intention to use them. Objective: To compare three methods, each following a different paradigm (Model-Driven, Model-Based and Code-Centric) with respect to their adoption potential by junior software developers engaged in the development of the business layer of a Web 2.0 application. Method: We have conducted a quasi-experiment with 26 graduate students of the University of Alicante. The application developed was a Social Network, which was organized around a fixed set of modules. Three of them, similar in complexity, were used for the experiment. Subjects were asked to use a different method for each module, and then to answer a questionnaire that gathered their perceptions during such use. Results: The results show that the Model-Driven method is regarded as the most useful, although it is also considered the least compatible with previous developers’ experiences. They also show that junior software developers feel comfortable with the use of models, and that they are likely to use them if the models are accompanied by a Model-Driven development environment. Conclusions: Despite their relatively low level of compatibility, Model-Driven development methods seem to show a great potential for adoption. That said, however, further experimentation is needed to make it possible to generalize the results to a different population, different methods, other languages and tools, different domains or different application sizes.

Culture is the system of knowledge, from whose meanings the human being screened and selected their understanding of Reality in the broad sense, and interprets and regulates the facts and data of social behavior. In this sense, culture is a program for social action and acting in humans during the process of socialization and social interaction. The meanings of each culture are the cumulative product of collective and individual thinking, in ecological economic, social and political specific situations, so are the expression of each particular cultural historical conjuncture. Moreover, the universal cognitive structure for the apprehension of cultural reality is the World Vision (WV). Due to its importance and significance as substratum of religious and political belief systems, we will gird our study to mythical cognitive mode or mythical WV.

Object tracking with subpixel accuracy is of fundamental importance in many fields since it provides optimal performance at relatively low-cost. Although there are many theoretical proposals that lead to resolution increments of several orders of magnitude, in practice, this resolution is limited by the imaging systems. In this paper we propose and demonstrate through numerical models a realistic limit for subpixel accuracy. The final result is that maximum achievable resolution enhancement is connected with the dynamic range of the image, i.e. the detection limit is 1/2^(nr.bits). Results here presented may help to proper design of superresolution experiments in microscopy, surveillance, defense and other fields.

Integrity assurance of configuration data has a significant impact on microcontroller-based systems reliability. This is especially true when running applications driven by events which behavior is tightly coupled to this kind of data. This work proposes a new hybrid technique that combines hardware and software resources for detecting and recovering soft-errors in system configuration data. Our approach is based on the utilization of a common built-in microcontroller resource (timer) that works jointly with a software-based technique, which is responsible to periodically refresh the configuration data. The experiments demonstrate that non-destructive single event effects can be effectively mitigated with reduced overheads. Results show an important increase in fault coverage for SEUs and SETs, about one order of magnitude.
