Prospectando más de 50 localidades repartidas por todo el Mediterráneo ibérico, hemosencontrado Lithophyllum lichenoides Philippi en las provincias de Gerona, Barcelona y Tarragona. En Alicante, Granada, Cádiz y Baleares hallamos citas bibliográficas, respectivamente, Barceló (1987), Conde & Soto (1985), Seoane (1969) y Ribera (1983). En el resto de lasprovincias del Mediterráneo espaflol no la hemos- encontrado ni fisica ni bibliográficamente. Esprobable que la temperatura del agua y la insolación sean los factores principales que influyenen esta localización (Sanchís, 1986; Zabaleta, 1976). En la zona más septentrional del Meditrráneo ibérico (provincia de Gerona) y en las Islas Baleares, la especie puede verse formando «trottoirs», comisas mediolitorales construidas por confluencia de numerosos talos. En dichas áreas las condiciones de desarrollo son mucho mejores que en las demás zonas observadas por el autor, más meridionales, de la costa mediterránea española. El «trottoir» goza de una gran complejidad estructural, que implica una intensa diversificación de hábitats, aun más acusadapor la variación de condiciones que suponen los cambios estacionales (Sanchís, 1986).

Se propone una representación de la distribución actual del endrino (Prunus spinosa L.) en Navarra. Para la canfección del mapa se dividió la superficie de Navarra según una malla cuadrada de 10 km. de lado. En cada cuadricula se realizaron recorridos detallados que permitieron conocer el grado de presencia de la especie estudiada.

Se han estudiado 969 pliegos de especies y subespecies del género Lavandula L. de la Península Ibérica y se han confeccionado los mapas de distribución de estos taxones tomando en consideración la provincias y sectores de Rivas-martínez (1982).

Se ha realizado un estudio comparativo de la composición y zonación de la vegetación macrófita en tres lagos de montaña de la provincia de León: Truchillas, La Hafia e Isoba, basado en transectos y mapas de distribución. Se deduce que los factores primarios que controlan las diferencias esenciales entre los tres sistemas son la configuración de la orilla, ligada a las características fisiográficas de la zona de asentamiento, textura del sustrato, profundidad y composición química del agua. Se imponen cambios en la forma de crecimiento de las especies; y asi, mientras que los isoétidos dominan en Truchillas, en La Baña se desarrollan rizófitos de tallos largos y hojas flotantes, y en Isoba se introducen helófitos junto a una vegetación sumergida con y sin hojas flotantes.

Se comenta la variación de los vientos con respecto de los macizos de Javalambre (2020 m) y Peñagolosa (1814 m), así como la seriación altitudinal en las laderas Nordeste y Este del Javalambre relacionándola con los vientos procedentes del mar.También se presentan esquemas de la estructura interna del Junipero sabinae-P¡netum sylvestris Rivas Goday & Borja 1961, en las zonas cacuminales del Javalambre y del Erodio-Erinaceetum (Rivas Goday & Borja 1961) 0. de Bolós & Vigó, del Peñagolosa.

Se estudia la distribución peninsular y la composición en derivados del b-orcinol de Melanelia acetabulum (Neck.) Essl. Las muestras mediterráneas analizadas presentan constantemente ácidos connorestícticos y norestíctico, careciendo de ácido salacínico y atranorina. Las muestras de la única localidad eurosiberiana estudiada presentan las mismas depsidonas, pero además contienen pequeñas cantidades de atranorina. Se discute, en base a estos resultados, la relación entre Melanelia acetabulum y M. koflerae (Clauzade & Poelt) Essl.

Food is one of the main exogenous sources of genotoxic compounds. In heated food products, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) represent a priority group of genotoxic, mutagenic and/or carcinogenic chemical pollutants with adverse long-term health effects. People can be exposed to these compounds through different environments and via various routes: inhalation, ingestion of foods and water and even percutaneously. The presence of these compounds in food may be due to environmental contamination, to industrial handling and processing of foods and to oil processing and refining. The highest levels of these compounds are found in smoked foods, in seafood which is found in polluted waters, in grilled meats and, to a lesser extent, in vegetable fats and oils. Lower levels of PAHs are found in vegetables and in cereals and its products.

Measures of prevention and control against polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) focus on an official food control, a code of best practice to reduce PAHs levels by controlling industry and in the development of a chemopreventive strategy. Regulation (EU) 835/2011 establishes maximum levels of PAHs for each food group. In addition, Regulations (EU) 333/2007 and 836/2011 set up the methods of sampling and analysis for its official control. Scientific studies prove that the chemopreventive strategy is effective against these genotoxic compounds effects. Most chemopreventive compounds studied with proven protective effects against PAHs are found in fruit and vegetables.

There is abundant empirical evidence on the negative relationship between welfare effort and poverty. However, poverty indicators traditionally used have been representative of the monetary approach, excluding its multidimensional reality from the analysis. Using three regression techniques for the period 1990-2010 and controlling for demographic and cyclical factors, this paper examines the relationship between social spending per capita —as the indicator of welfare effort— and poverty in up to 21 countries of the region. The proportion of the population with an income below its national basic basket of goods and services (PM1) and the proportion of population with an income below 50% of the median income per capita (PM2) were the two poverty indicators considered from the monetarist approach to measure poverty. From the capability approach the proportion of the population with food inadequacy (PC1) and the proportion of the population without access to improved water sources or sanitation facilities (PC2) were used. The fi ndings confi rm that social spending is actually useful to explain changes in poverty (PM1, PC1 and PC2), as there is a high negative and signifi cant correlation between the variables before and after controlling for demographic and cyclical factors. In two regression techniques, social spending per capita did not show a negative relationship with the PM2. Countries with greater welfare effort for the period 1990-2010 were not necessarily those with the lowest level of poverty. Ultimately social spending per capita was more useful to explain changes in poverty from the capability approach.

La gráfica se encuentra en un proceso de simbiosis con la cultura visual en el que la tecnología de la imagen, la descentralización de la matriz y la adaptación del formato expositivo se funden con el resto de las actividades artísticas. El análisis de las comunidades formadas alrededor de esta práctica configura un puzzle, aparentemente bien encajado, que se divide entre el formalismo y el conceptualismo y entre la idea y el proceso. Las bienales y trienales, a la vanguardia del discurso, cuestionan cualquier concepto que se haya podido asentar con solidez: ante la decadencia del proceso artesanal el mensaje se profundiza nutriéndose de la invectiva provocada por las contradicciones sociales, territoriales y medioambientales para convertirse en un reflejo de la sociedad contemporánea. Comprender la gráfica actual pasa por un ejercicio de aperturismo y un proceso de adaptación al cambio técnico e iconográfico de los sectores implicados. El grabado es ahora un territorio en el que la integración de todas las artes permite cruzar sus fronteras con fluidez.

Nanotechnology is a multidisciplinary science that is having a boom today, providing new products with attractive physicochemical properties for many applications. In agri/feed/food sector, nanotechnology offers great opportunities for obtaining products and innovative applications for agriculture and livestock, water treatment and the production, processing, storage and packaging of food. To this end, a wide variety of nanomaterials, ranging from metals and inorganic metal oxides to organic nanomaterials carrying bioactive ingredients are applied. This review shows an overview of current and future applications of nanotechnology in the food industry. Food additives and materials in contact with food are now the main applications, while it is expected that in the future are in the field of nano-encapsulated and nanocomposites in applications as novel foods, additives, biocides, pesticides and materials food contact.

Currently, there is increasing use of nanomaterials in the food industry thanks to the many advantages offered and make the products that contain them more competitive in the market. Their physicochemical properties often differ from those of bulk materials, which require specialized risk assessment. This should cover the risks to the health of workers and consumers as well as possible environmental risks. The risk assessment methods must go updating due to more widespread use of nanomaterials, especially now that are making their way down to consumer products. Today there is no specific legislation for nanomaterials, but there are several european dispositions and regulations that include them. This review gives an overview of the risk assessment and the existing current legislation regarding the use of nanotechnology in the food industry.

The Green Economy offers real possibilities for productive innovation, economic growth and employment creation in Spain. These three factors are critical to facilitate the necessary change in the productive model to overcome the crisis. However, the measures taken by the current Conservative government have moved in the opposite direction: significant cutting in incentives for renewable, increasing tax burden on renewable energy production to self-consumption and privatizing public spaces of social and environmental interest. This hinders the achievement of the environmental objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy. A strategy that is born already in itself highly limited, unambitious and subordinated to the interests of energy oligopolies and the imperatives of the Stability and Growth Pact (Maastricht) and the Austerity policies imposed from EU institutions to overcome the 2008 financial crisis. So the Ecological Transition goes further, claiming a substantially change in Economic Policy away form the increasing commodification proposed by the Green Economy. Despite these limitations, young and unemployed people have much to gain from a comprehensive development of environmental industries. Therefore, innovative-sustainable plans, investment and training in green sectors are necessary to make easier the transition from a services low-valued economy to an innovative and sustainable model to make our country an environmental reference in Europe.

This work aims to reflect on the concept of social innovation, questioning its explanatory capacity for the discipline of social work. For this purpose, certain on-going debates with regard to this concept are examined and certain minimum dimensions are offered to enable an analysis of the social innovation strategies that certain affected groups implement to meet social needs. The approach is to construct «glasses» that permit an analytical engagement with new realities and with the strategies used by certain social groups to resolve situations of severe vulnerability. Finally, a case study is presented: a strategic group known as the Corrala Utopía that seeks to respond to severe housing problems and is developing in the city of Seville. The article highlights the elements of community social innovation emerging from the experience studied.

Concept maps are a technique used to obtain a visual representation of a person's ideas about a concept or a set of related concepts. Specifically, in this paper, through a qualitative methodology, we analyze the concept maps proposed by 52 groups of teacher training students in order to find out the characteristics of the maps and the degree of adequacy of the contents with regard to the teaching of human nutrition in the 3rd cycle of primary education. The participants were enrolled in the Teacher Training Degree majoring in Primary Education, and the data collection was carried out through a training activity under the theme of what to teach about Science in Primary School? The results show that the maps are a useful tool for working in teacher education as they allow organizing, synthesizing, and communicating what students know. Moreover, through this work, it has been possible to see that future teachers have acceptable skills for representing the concepts/ideas in a concept map, although the level of adequacy of concepts/ideas about human nutrition and its relations is usually medium or low. These results are a wake-up call for teacher training, both initial and ongoing, because they shows the inability to change priorities as far as the selection of content is concerned.
