This paper provides theoretical perspectives and the corresponding epistemological approaches on the study of disabilities. It explains diverse focuses to see disabilities from their different points of view; it also includes debates between those focuses. This paper contributes to a conceptual-theoretical clarification for the study and research on disabilities.

Objective: determine the effect on the disability index of adult patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) using vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) and human movement. Subjects: six subjects with an average age of 49.5 ± 14.22 years who have been diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo by an otolaryngologist. Instruments: the Dizziness Handicap Inventory and a questionnaire to determine impact on the quality of life of patients with this pathology (Ceballos and Vargas, 2004). Procedure: subjects underwent vestibular therapy for four weeks together with habituation and balance exercises in a semi-supervised manner. Two measurements were performed, one before and one after the vestibular therapy and researchers determined if there was any improvement in the physical, functional, and emotional dimensions. Statistical analysis: descriptive statistics and Student’s t-test of repeated measures were applied to analyze results obtained. Results: significant statistical differences were found in the physical dimension between the pre-test (19.33 ± 4.67 points) and post-test (13 ± 7.24 points) (t = 2.65; p < 0.05). In contrast, no significant statistical differences were found in the functional (t = 2.44; p>0.05), emotional (t = 2.37; p>0.05) or general dimensions (t = 2.55; p>0.05). Conclusion: vestibular therapy with a semi-supervised human movement program improved the index of disability due to vertigo (physical dimension) in BPPV subjects.

Abstract:The article comprises the theoretical frameworks of the Geography of Perception and significant learning by means of a didactic sequence for the teaching of cartography in the Didactic course of Social Studies for Basic education, the Diploma course of study in pedagogy with emphasis on cycles I and II of general Basic Education, Universidad Nacional. The general objective is focused on analyzing the usefulness of the cognitive map in the teaching of cartography in order to contrast it other traditional methods. The results reveal that the spatial configurations represented in the cognitive maps bear little resemblance to the conventional cartographic representations. Nevertheless, the methodology implemented produces significant learning.Key Words: Geography of Perception, significant learning, didactic sequence, cognitive map, cartography education, cartography.

Abstract:In this article it is tried to rescue the analysis of networks independently of the approach to aureole, emphasizing its virtues in a globalized world, in where more and more the distance concept is replaced by the time, until arriving at the end of which the cost, no longer depends on the distance as the case of the flat tariffs of Internet. A theoretical/ methodological approach that questions the regional analysis, because, this one approach in some aspects no longer can solve the problems that the present society demand. In the space network, the notion of absolute location loses use while the importance of the connection to the networks is reinforced. The proposed methodologies could improve the boarding of the present networks in the regulating plans, so in rows, our country.
