DOCUMENT CONTROL OF NATIONAL MAPPING AND METRIC STUDIES CHARACTERIZING NATIONAL IDENTITY AND INDIVIDUAL. I STAGE

This is a project of the School of Library, Documentation and Information of the National University, is performed to support the initiative of UNESCO to build the Memory of the World (UNESCO, 1995) and to help provide universal access to documentation. To this end, the School of Library Science students has promoted the realization of final graduation work on documentary control of domestic production. This project has the following objectives:Objectives1. Conduct mapping national documentary through the identification, analysis, organization and access to documentary heritage of Costa Rica, to contribute to the Memory of the World.2. Perform bibliometric analysis of documentary records contained in the integrated databases.This project seeks to bring undergraduate students graduating from the school, in making final graduation work on document control. Students have the opportunity to make final graduation work on the documentary production of Costa Rica on a specific theme or on a country's geographical area.Desk audits aimed at identifying the document using access points and indicate its contents to allow recovery by the user.The result is the production of a new document, other than the original, a secondary document: the bibliography. The records in the database each control documentation completed work will be integrated into a single database to be placed on the website of EBDI, for consultation of researchers and interested users.

LOS RIESGOS DE DETERIORO DEL PATRIMONIO DOCUMENTAL EN AMÉRICA LATINA

La conservación preventiva se ha convertido en la única vía para salvaguardar la memoria histórica de los pueblos. Existen múltiples definiciones de conservación preventiva, lo que con frecuencia la convierten en centro de discusiones interminables, pero casi todos coincidimos en que por conservación preventiva podemos entender todas las acciones que se dirigen a disminuir el riesgo de deterioro de las colecciones. Y he aquí que el término riesgo ocupa un sitio de gran importancia para la conservación. Entendemos por riesgo la contingencia ó proximidad de un daño, en otras palabras la probabilidad de sufrir un evento peligroso ó indeseable, que en el caso del patrimonio documental se traduce en deterioro o pérdida de valores.El riesgo de deterioro de un documento, esta dado por la relación de dos aspectos, la vulnerabilidad del objeto, y las amenazas a la que está expuesto.

It is a matter of pride that Costa Rica and the National University, both with extensive experience in the development of library we are the headquarters for the first time, an event that brings together three different activities on this theme: the Central American Seminar, Workshops and Standing Committee of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, which will strengthen the monitoring and Manifestos on Public Libraries, Schools and Internet IFLA-UNESCO. Thank you very much to all of you for allowing us this honor and a double thanks to the comrades of the UNA university who took the initiative and made this opportunity possible.

SEMINAR ON CENTRAL CONCLUSIONS MANIFESTS IFLA-UNESCO FOR PUBLIC LIBRARY, SCHOOL AND INTERNET

Central America is a region with accumulated experiences of collaborative work in developing the Central Library, among them are: The CSUCA (Council of Central American Universities) globally recognized organization founded in 1948 has strengthened the development of University Libraries, with the creation of the Central American University Libraries. Another significant contribution is made by the Public Libraries and supported by SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) has substantially expanded the concept of National Public Library. Today is forming the Confederation of Associations and Colleges Central Library, a product of the Workshop held in El Salvador, with the support of IFLA / ALP.
