CONCERNS REGARDING THE PROTECTION OF COPYRIGHT IN THE INTERNET

The advent of the World Network(Net) Internet and the use of the technology in the digital environment raised new challenges to the author's copyright. These worries were considered in the last international agreements, so that the warning is not true of those who postulate that the Internet is a " territory of nobody ", where the works are unprotected completely. To educate on the topic of the protection of the author's copyright and to provide with resources the instances(authorities) in charge of the observance of these rights looks like an ineluctable task.

INTERNET EN LAS BIBLIOTECAS PÚBLICAS COSTARRICENSES: SU IMPORTANCIA PARA ACORTAR LA BRECHA DIGITAL

Al ser la biblioteca pública de acceso libre y gratuito, se constituye como uno de los medios de información y conocimiento que ofrece oportunidades a todos los miembros de la comunidad y desde donde se pueden hacer efectivos los derechos a la información, la educación, la cultura y la recreación.De acuerdo con la UNESCO, es responsabilidad de la bibliotecapública facilitar el acceso al conocimiento y a la información a través de Internet, y con ello lograr su desarrollo y evolución tecnológica.Actualmente, la biblioteca pública costarricense esta incursionando paulatinamente en el mundo de las TIC y está tratando de integrarse en la revolución digital para ofrecer servicios novedosos, de calidad y seguir siendo útiles para los ciudadanos (as), y a la vez, está procurando acortar la brecha digital de quienes tienen menos oportunidades.

EL BIBLIOTECÓLOGO FRENTE A LA REVOLUCION DE LA INFORMACIÓN

El panorama que se tiene es difícil de enfrentar en un mundo de pasos gigantescos en donde el avance de la tecnología se ve todos los días. Los problemas que presentan las unidades de información documental como presupuesto, personal y espacio físico, además de un usuario líder en el manejo de Internet y la cantidad de información que está disponible para todos en la red mundial, es un reto que debe desafiar el bibliotecólogo actual, en un mundo de cambios constantes y que son difíciles de alcanzar, pero que deben ser la meta de todo profesional en el área.El bibliotecólogo como un profesional destacado en el manejo de la información, debe estar al día en los últimos adelantos tecnológicos para manipular la inmensa cantidad de documentación que está en los centros en forma impresa, así como aquella que está en el mundo viajando por autopistas electrónicas y algunas veces sin control.Hoy todavía no se ha olvidado la impresión en papel, pero sí se está viviendo un cambio fuerte en la forma de enviar los productos y servicios que se deben brindar en una unidad de información, sea ésta de ente público o privado, especializada o general.El mundo nos pide un cambio y un acelerado proceso en nuestras mentes que asimile parte de este desarrollo globalizado que la sociedad está viviendo a pasos gigantescos.

It is a matter of pride that Costa Rica and the National University, both with extensive experience in the development of library we are the headquarters for the first time, an event that brings together three different activities on this theme: the Central American Seminar, Workshops and Standing Committee of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, which will strengthen the monitoring and Manifestos on Public Libraries, Schools and Internet IFLA-UNESCO. Central America is a region with accumulated experiences of collaborative work in developing the Central Library, among them are: The CSUCA (Council of Central American Universities) globally recognized organization founded in 1948 has strengthened the development of University Libraries, with the creation of the Central American University Libraries. Another significant contribution is made by the Public Libraries and supported by SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) has substantially expanded the concept of National Public Library. Today is forming the Confederation of Associations and Colleges Central Library, a product of the Workshop held in El Salvador, with the support of IFLA / ALP.
