During "The reader and their information needs" students tried to implement the theory discussed in class. To this end, organized into sub-groups and worked in different types of libraries. The following paper covers the practice that the students: Jenssy Arguedas Salazar Hernández Sandoval Lidiette Oses and Olga Corrales held in the Library "Sister Onorina Leporati" Help Ma College of Alajuela.

This study examines the services provided by the bookmobile of SINABI-Public Libraries in rural communities visited Costa Rica during 2009 and 2010 according to the sample selected for the presentation of a proposed Mobile Library Network to Costa Rica.Each country has very heterogeneous populations and the populations in unfavorable geographical areas (rural or urban fringe areas) and areas without library service or cultural institution, they have specific information needs. By its terms can not exercise the right to information, while urban areas have greater influence and social advantage to have easy access to various information resources.The mobile library services are presented as an ideal tool to deliver library services to any population, mainly those remote communities and vulnerable state as rural areas. Bookmobile is defined as any means of transport (buses, trains, boats, motorcycles, boats, animals, etc.), which shifts documentary material.

Este documento describe el proceso que se llevó a cabo para conocer las necesidades de información de los(as) usuarios(as) reales y potenciales de las comunidades Jardines Universitarios 1 y Jardines Universitarios 2 que atiende la Biblioteca Infantil “Miriam Álvarez Brenes” de la Universidad Nacional. Además presenta las conclusiones y recomendaciones generadas por el estudio de usuarios(as), así como la caracterización actualizada de las comunidades meta contempladas en el estudio.

No existe en nuestro medio ningún estudio completo sobre la educación de los usuarios que pudiera aplicarse a cualquier tipo de biblioteca.Tampoco contamos todavía con parámetros que nos permitan evaluar en que medida los objetivos propuestos en un plan a desarrollar durante un determinado tiempo, se cumplieron o no.

This project is a diagnosis of update needs and training for professionals in bibliotecology and its results will be used for the design of a Program of Permanent training in bibliotecology, which will be implemented in Bibliotecology School, Documentation and Information of the National University.The studied population is composed by all the teachers of Bibliotecology School, Documentation and Information of the National University, in October, 2007, and all the graduated students of licentiate of the EBDI from 2000 to 2007.The results of this investigation were obtained by means of a questionnaire that was filled by each one of the members of these two populations, who corresponded to 25 teachers of the EBDI and 18 graduates of licentiate. This one also presents the information that was obtained in interviews realized to the managers of the principal institutions who are professionals contracted in bibliotecology.The results obtained of this diagnosis will allow the elaboration of the Program of Permanent training in bibliotecology, considering the formative needs of the professionals in bibliotecology of the EBDI. This project includes the following products:a) Description of the social and demographic characteristics of teachers and of graduated of licentiate of the EBDI.b) Diagnosis of needs to update and training of bibliotecology professional teachers and of graduated of licentiate of the EBDI.c) Determination of the knowledge and skills that the needs to satisfy what big employers ask for.d) Recommendations for the program. Implementation.

We can categorically state that the information is the main ingredient of the culture of a people. Defining information as a set of processed data that are needed, have value and meaning for individuals and for developing countries where data is any fact.The information could also be considered as an international resource indispensable. The scientific and technological development is a consequence of the relevant information is handled. The "heap" is a source of information that libraries must consider and integrate them because they give rise to more information and new technology. The need for improved information systems in recent years, it has become critical because the information data grows in quantity and complexity of organization. Consequently, some libraries have tried to coordinate functions, redistribute resources, identify needs and work together to give easier access to information

Linked to the investigation is, without being able to do without it, the information. In fact it is a factor without which the research is done by halves, or does not occur at all.Research in any field or discipline, needs the support of those who previously investigated in the work of interest. Researchers need to give more authoritative backing, more scientific, his creation of what others wrote, reported or are inquiring about a hypothesis. Thus, the information defined as "a means of communication" without being an end in itself, is an indispensable means to strengthen, guide and accelerate any research process, and in many cases up to edit to change completely.The information was therefore an unusual importance in developing nations, as the link that binds makes available to the researcher or student, all I thought of Man produces and has produced over time and world geography.
