Proposal for the creation of a Center for Learning Resources (CRA) in the School of San Lorenzo de Tarrazu

Education is the basis for economic and social development, but there are great inequalities in education and access to documentary resources, audiovisual and technology, a situation that affects school performance. The Organization of the United Nations Educational and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) found a correlation between levels of inequality in a country and performance: the greater the inequality, the worse the performance. Investment in education affects human development and benefit is obtained for the individual and society, which is necessary to ensure social equity, so that there is quality education for all. One of the fundamental purposes of the educational process is to train Costa Rican human thinking, analytical and critical of their environment. The purpose of that is acquired through various methods of academic achievement, learning, participation and constant communication of knowledge between the administrative staff, faculty and students. It is appropriate for schools and colleges have a school library or Resource Center for Learning, it is the gathering, analysis and work of the educational community, working with the intellectual growth of students, faculty, staff and community through access to different services and learning resources provided by the library or CRA.

LA ESCOLARIZACIÓN DE LA BIBLIOTECA PÚBLICA, CON UNA PROPUESTA PARA EXTENDER LA COBERTURA DE LAS BIBLIOTECAS PÚBLICAS OFICIALES DE COSTA RICA A LA COMUNIDAD

De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos por medio del diagnóstico y a fin de reducir el fenómeno de la escolarización en las bibliotecas públicas estudiadas, se elaboró una propuesta que gira en torno a la fase de organización, distribución, promoción y evaluación de un nuevo modelo de gestión fundamentado en el desarrollo de un servicio de información a la comunidad (SIC). 

DOCUMENTARY DIRECTED PRACTICE CONTROL IN CANTON PURISCAL, SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA

The Directed Practice Seminar was developed under the theme Document Control in Canton Puriscal, San Jose Costa Rica. The practice consisted of a process of identification, collection, description, analysis and typing of documents Puriscal of historical, scientific and cultural, to publicize the county's documentary heritage, thus contributing to the Costa Rican national literature, and also promote the rescue culture of the peoples, a task that performs modern librarianship.The search, identification and collection of documents that have been published or not, in and to the Canton Puriscal was thorough and in all possible formats: books, journals, letters, brochures, memos, videos, newspaper articles, manuscripts , periodicals, electronic resources, among others.

Control documental del cantón de San Joaquín de Flores, Heredia, desde 1880 al 2006

El objetivo primero de la producción intelectual de un país se materializa cuando se informa, con la mayor claridad y rapidez posibles, sobre lo que se publica en ese lugar o fuera de él. Un estudio con la naturaleza del presente, pretende sensibilizar al público o comunidad acerca de la necesidad de la protección del patrimonio documental. Se pueden mencionar, en Costa Rica, gran cantidad de publicaciones desconocidas por los ciudadanos, pues, aunque, estas se ubican en bibliotecas, archivos y otros repositorios, no han sido difundidas adecuadamente; por lo que su valor como testimonio de la historia y de la cultura no se estima en los ámbitos nacional e internacional. Por estas razones, y la importancia de contar con un control documental en el cantón de San Joaquín de Flores de Heredia, se consideró relevante realizar esta investigación, en la que se rescataron documentos de valor histórico, científico y cultural, que permitieron conocer la memoria documental de este cantón y que representan un aporte muy valioso para la bibliografía nacional costarricense.
