In bacteriophage, transcription elongation is regulated by the N protein, which binds a nascent mRNA hairpin ( termed boxB) and enables RNA polymerase to read through distal terminators. We have examined the structure, energetics and in vivo function of a number of N boxB complexes derived from in vitro protein selection. Trp18 fully stacks on the RNA loop in the wild-type structure, and can become partially or completely unstacked when the sequence context is changed three or four residues away, resulting in a recognition interface in which the best binding residues depend on the sequence context. Notably, in vivo antitermination activity correlates with the presence of a stacked aromatic residue at position 18, but not with N boxB binding affinity. Our work demonstrates that RNA polymerase responds to subtle conformational changes in cis-acting regulatory complexes and that approximation of components is not sufficient to generate a fully functional transcription switch.

The crystal of complex [Li(THF)(4)][Fe(S2C2B10H10)(2)(THF)] 3 belongs to monoclinic, space group P2(1) with a = 11.964(2), b = 16.527(3), c = 12.554(3) Angstrom,beta = 108.70(3)degrees, V= 2351.3(8) Angstrom(3), Z = 2, M-r = 835.95, D-c = 1.181 g/cm(3), mu (MoKalpha) = 5.30 cm(-1), f(000) = '874, R = 0.0622 and Rw 0.1538 for 1641 observed reflections with I > 2sigma(I). The ionic complex,of 3 contains the square pyramidal anion of [Fe(S2C2B10H10)(2)(THF)](-) and the tetrahedral cation of [Li(THF)(4)](+). The iron is 5-coordinated and located in the square pyramidal configuration. The iron atom and the four sulfur atoms are almost coplanar. The Lithium atom is coordinated with four oxygen atoms of four THF molecules and located in a tetrahedral configuration.

The anion of MeO2CCH2CH2SnCl4 - was obtained by decomposing the yellow solution of MeO2CCH2CH2SnCl3.(2-OHC6H4CH=NC6H5) by standing for 15 days, which is the product of 3-methoxy-carbonylethyltin trichlorides with Schiff base (2-OHC6H4CH=NC6H5). The title compound was characterized by elemental analysis, IR. H-1 NMR,C-13 NMR and X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal of the title compound belongs to orthorhombic system, space group P2cn, a=7.852(2), b=12.236(1),c=16.952(4)Adegrees, V=1628.7 Angstrom(3), Z=4, D-c=1.79g/cm(3) F(000)=860, mu=22.2cm(-1), R=0.0449, Rw=0.0382. The title compound exists as a discrete molecule, and the tin atom attains a distorted octahedral geometry via the coordination of intramolecular carbonyl oxygen and chloride ion. The coordination number of tin atom is 6.

在用酯基锡MeO2CCH2CH2SnCl3合成配合物MeO2CCH2CH2SnCl3·(2-OHC6H4CH=NC6H5)时,其配合物的甲苯溶液放置培养单晶时(放置十天以上)会发生分解生成配合物MeO2CCH2CH2SnCl4—·H+。研究了标题化合物的合成反应,用元素分析、IR、NMR对配合物进行了表征,并测定了晶体结构。为正交晶系,空间群为P2cn, a=7.852(2), b=12.236(1), c=16.952(4) ? V=1628.7?, Z=4, Dc=1.79g/cm3, F(000)= 860,m=22.2cm—1(Mo),R=0.0449, Rw=0.0382。标题化合物的空间构型为畸变的八面体构型,中心锡原子的配位数为6。

Novel high spin tri-, tetra-, pentaradicals, composed of triazine coupling units and cationic amino radical spin centers (+ . NH) under various configurations and linkages, are predicted from AM1-CI calculations. It is found that for charged planar multiradicals the stability of high spin ground states depends on both the molecular configuration and the number of end groups. Generally, cyclic 1,3-bridged charged multiradicals (S less than or equal to 5/2) possess more stable high spin ground states than their isomers under the branched 1,3,5,-bridged configuration. Therefore, it is suggested that in the design of planar high spin molecules with stable high spin ground states, less end groups and all the supposed spin centers and/or the coupling units should be under the same structural situation. [Al(C15H9O3)(3)](2) . 2CHCl(3) . 8H(2)O was synthesized, and its crystal structure was determined. It belongs to trigonal system, R3, a=b=1. 655 8(3) nm, c=3. 646 5(20) nm, alpha = beta = 90 degrees, gamma = 120 degrees, V = 8. 656 08(0. 005 86) nm(3). D-c = 1.45 g/cm(3), mu(Mo K alpha) = 3. 20 cm(-1), F (000) = 3 924. The crystal structure was solved by Patterson and Fourier techniques, and refined by a block-diagonal least-squares method. A total of 3 737 independent intensity data were collected, of which 1 033 with I greater than or equal to 3 sigma(I-0) were observed, R = 0. 091 8, Rw=0. 091 8. Al3+ ion was 6-coordinated, bound to six oxygen atoms from three 3-hydroxyflavones to form a distortional coordination octahedron.

报道了标题化合物〔C14H18Br2OSn〕的合成及晶体结构。该晶体属于单斜晶系,空间点群为P21/c,晶胞参数a=11.711(2),b=9.114(2),c=16.864(3)A,β=102.94(1)°,V=1604.55(0)A3,Mr=480.78,Z=4,Dc=1.99g/cm3,u=65.20cm-1,F(000)=919,R=0.050,Rw=0.050.晶体结构由直接法解出。标题化合物分子中的锡原子被配体的2个碳、2个溴和1个氧原子配位,配位原子呈畸变的三角双锥构型,环已基为椅式构象,五员杂环为信封构象。

The compounds of [Z]-1-[2-(triphenyl stannyl) vinyl] cyclooctanol (1) and [Z]-1-[2-(tri-p-tolyl stannyl) vinyl] cyclooctanol (2) were synthesized by the reactions of triphenyltin hydride and tri-p-tolyltin hydride with 1-ethynyl cyclooctanol. The crystal structure of compound 1 was determined. The reactions of compound 1 and 2 with IC1, Br-2, I-2 formed nine organotin halides. The organotin oxide or hydroxide were prepared by the reactions of [Z]-1-[2-(phenyl dibromo stannyl) vinyl] cyclooctanol (6) and [Z]-1-[2-(diphenyl monobromo stannyl) vinyl] cyclooctanol (5) with KOH. Three complexes were obtained by the reactions of [Z]-1-[2-(phenyl diiodide stannyl) vinyl] cyclooctanol (8) with three ligands (2,2'-bipyridyl,5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline,8-Hydroxyquinoline). The sixteen new compounds synthesized in this paper were characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR. The reaction mechanism of triphenyltin hydride and tri-p-tolyltin hydride with 1-ethynyl cyclooctanol were also proposed.

Dinuclear complexes [Mo-2(mu-pyS)(2)(CO)(4)(PPh(3))(2)] (1), [Mo-2(mu-pyS)(2)(CO)(5)(PPh(3))] (2) and a trace quality of trinuclear complex [Mo-3(mu-pyS)(2)(mu(3)-pyS)(2)(CO)(6)] (3) were obtained from the reaction of [Mo(CO)(3)(MeCN)(3)] with pyridine-2-thione (pySH) and PPh(3) in THF. The crystal structures of 1.2C(7)H(8) and 3.7 C7H8 have been determined by X-ray diffraction studies. Crystals of 1.2C(7)H(8) are monoclinic, space group C2/c and Z = 4, with a = 18.797(3), b = 11.143(4), c = 28.157(7) Angstrom, beta = 101.23(2)degrees. The structure was refined to R = 0.050 and Rw = 0.057 for 3146 observed reflections, Crystals of 3.7 C7H8 are monoclinic, space group P2(1)/a and Z = 4, with a = 13.912(2), b = 17.161(2), c = 15.577(3) Angstrom, beta = 101.17(1)degrees. The structure was refined to R = 0.046 and Rw = 0.051 for 4357 observed reflections. The molecule of 1 consists of two Mo(CO)(2)(PPh(3)) fragments linked by an Mo-Mo bond (2.974(2)Angstrom) and by two doubly-bridging pyS ligands. The compound 3 contains a bent open geometry of three molybdenum atoms (Mo(1)-Mo(2)-Mo(3) angle 122.99(3)degrees) linked by two Mo-Mo bonds (2.943(1) and 2.950(1) Angstrom) and by two doubly- and two triply-bridging pyS ligands.

The reaction of buckministerfullerene (C-60) with tri-n-blltyltin hydride(n-Bu(3)SnH) in toluene solution has been investigated. According to mass spectrometry analysis, the products of above reaction are C-60(BuH)(n)(n = 1 similar to 3) and Bu(x)Sn(y)H(x) (x = 3 similar to 8, y = 1 similar to 4,approximate to = 0 similar to 3). The reaction maybe provide a new method for the synthesis of alkylated fullerene derivatives. Where C-60 also takes a role of a catalysis of organtic-tin polymerization. The radical reaction mechanism has been discussed.

Six compounds of M2F3 center dot 1.2H(2)O (M=EU, Ga, Tb, Y, Er, LU: H2F=Fumaric acid) have been synthesized. The structures of Eu(III), T b(III), Y(III), Er(III) and Lu(III) compounds have been determined by singal crystal X-ray diffraction method. The complex of Eu(III) crystallizes in tri-clinic space group P (1) over bar, and the coordination number of Eu3+ is ten. The other four complexes crystallize in monclinic space P2(1)/c, and the coordination numbers of the metal ions are eight. Each of the complexes shows a three-dimensional net structures.

A tri-phasic catalytic system consisting of aqueous hydrogen peroxide, benzyl alcohol and a solid catalyst such as tungsten trioxide has been proved effective for the oxidation of benzyl alcohol in the presence of cetyl trimethyl aniline bromide (CTMAB). At first, the oxide reacts with CTMAB to form a complex, which can be oxidized by aqueous hydrogen peroxide to form a peroxide which effectively oxidizes benzyl alcohol.

Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of (p-carboxyphenoxy)-tri(2,4-di-tert-pentyl phenoxy)phthalocyanine copper(II) (asyCuPc) are prepared; the associated forms of the compound in chloroform solution and the particular orientation of asyCuPc molecular macrocycles in LB films is determined by polarized UV-VIS.
