The title compound, (H(2)en)(3)H3O {MO8V4O36 (VO4) (VO)(2)} . 4H(2)O, was hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by means of IR, ESR spectrum and single crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallized in a monoclinic system with space group P2(1)/c, a=1. 980 4(4) nm, b=2. 063 4(4) nm, c=1. 192 0(2) nm, (beta =94. 76(3)degrees and deep black colour. The compound contains V-centered bi-capped alpha -Keggin fragments {Mo8V7O42} that are linked together by edge-shared units (VO5)-O-N via V-O-V bonds, forming a chain.

A novel compound was synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR and UV spectra, TG, CV and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallized in an orthorhombic space group C222 with a=1. 622 4(3) nm, b=3. 498 4(7) nm, c=1. 301 5(3) nm, V=7. 387 (3) nm(3), Z=6, R-1= 0. 037 3, wR(2)=0. 114 0. The Ala (Ala = alanine) molecules were protonated at the amino nitrogen N (1) and the C (2) of Ala group with the terminal oxygen atom O(15), O(14), O(26) and O(27) of the polyoxometalates participating in the hydrogen bond network. The anti-tumor activity of the title compound was estimated against Hela and Pc-3m cancer cells.

A novel heteropoly tungstophosphates, H-8[P4W14O58Na4(H2O)(20)] . 16H(2)O, was synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum and single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. The thermal stability of the compound was investigated by using TG-DTA. The crystal is triclinic system with space group P (1) over bar, a = 1. 137 9(2) nm, b=1. 363 2(3) nm, c=1. 627 1(3) nm; alpha=78. 20(3)degrees, beta=71, 20(3)degrees, gamma= 71. 62(3)degrees; V = 2. 252 5(8) nm(3), Z=1, M-r= 4 374. 38, D-c = 3. 225 mg/cm(3), mu = 18. 007 mm(-1), F(000)=1 972, R=0. 074 2, R-w=0. 200 4. The result of structure analysis shows that the anion of the compound consists of two PW7O29Na2(H2O)(10) subunits and two linked phosphorous atoms. A kind of microporous with size of 0. 661 4 nm X 0. 318 9 nm was formed in the crystal structure.

Co(En)(3)MoO4 was synthesized by using the method of hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, ESR and single-crystal X-ray methods. It crystallizes in hexagonal space group P (3) over bar C1 with a=1.596 4(2) nm, b=1.596 4(2) nm, c = 0.993 5(2) nm, alpha=beta=90 degrees gamma=120 degrees, M-c=399.18, V=2.192 6(6) nm(3), D-c=1.814 g/nm(3), Z=6, F(000)=1 2181 R-1=0.070 3, R-w=0.220 7. According to separation of anion which acted on electrostatic potential, the anion and cation ions formed a type of organic and inorganic material.

Some novel macrocyclic (arylene ether sulfone) containing cardo groups and (arylene ether ketone sulfone) oligomers have been synthesized in high yields by a nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction of 4,4'-difluorophenylsulfone with bisphenols in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate under a pseudo-high-dilution condition. Detailed structural characterization of these oligomers by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight-mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS), fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (f.a.b.-m.s.), nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry (n.m.r.) and single-crystal X-ray structure analysis confirms their cyclic nature, and the composition of the oligomeric mixtures is provided by g.p.c. analysis. Ring polymerization of cyclic oligomers 3a to a high molecular weight polymer with M-w of 59.1 k was achieved by heating at 290 degrees C for 40 min in the presence of a nucleophilic initiator. Spherulites and lamellar single crystals of poly(aryl ether ketone ketone) containing isophthaloyl moieties (PEKK(I)) were obtained from dilute alpha-chloronaphthalene solution. The morphology and structure of the spherulites and single crystals were studied by electron microscopy and electron diffraction. The spherulites were found to consist of elongated lamellar branches that grow with the b crystallographic axis in the radial direction. Single crystals possess a similar habit, with b parallel to the long axis, a transverse, and c perpendicular to the lamellae plane. High-resolution images of the PEKK(I) crystals which show the perfection of and defects in the crystals, were obtained, and many defects or dislocations a,ere observed. Macrocyclic arylene ether ketone dimer was isolated from a mixture of cyclic oligomers obtained by the nucleophilic substitution reaction of bisphenol A and 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone and easily polymerized to high molecular weight linear poly(ether ketone). The cyclic compound was characterized by FTIR, H-1- and C-13-NMR, and single-crystal x-ray diffraction. Analysis of the spectral and crystal structure reveals extreme distortions of he phenyl rings attached to the isopropylidene center and of the turning points of the molecular polygons. The release of the ring strain on ring-opening combined with entropical difference between the linear polymer chain and the more rigid macrocycle at temperatures of polymerization may be the proposed motivating factors in the polymerization of this precursor to high molecular weight poly(ether ketone). The luminescence properties of Ce3+, Gd3+, and Tb3+ have been investigated in the compound CaAl2B2O7. The single excitation band peaking at about 320 nm and single emission band peaking at about 384 nm for Ce3+, without the characteristic doublet, are attributed to the extensive crystal-field splitting of 4f ground state. The emission of Gd3+ consists of well-known sharp lines and two weak bands around 319.5 and 325 nm. These bands are due to the coupling of Gd3+ with BO33- groups. The green emission of Tb3+ is considerably sensitized by Ce3+. Energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ in CaAl2B2O7 is efficient. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.

The miscibility and phase behavior of polysulfone (PSF) and poly(hydroxyether of bisphenol A) (phenoxy) with a series of copoly(ether ether ketone) (COPEEK), a random copolymer of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK), and phenolphthalein poly(ether ether ketone) (PEK-C) was studied using differential scanning calorimetry. A COPEEK copolymer containing 6 mol % ether ether ketone (EEK) repeat units is miscible with PSF, whereas copolymers containing 12 mol % EEK and more are not. COPEEK copolymers containing 6 and 12 mol % EEK are completely miscible with phenoxy, but those containing 24 mol % EEK and more are immiscible with phenoxy. Moreover, a copolymer containing 17 mol % EEK is partially miscible with phenoxy; the blends show two transitions in the midcomposition region and single transitions at either extreme. Two T(g)s were observed for the 50/50 blend of phenoxy with the copolymer containing 17 mol % EEK, whereas a single composition-dependent T-g appeared for all the other compositions. An FTIR study revealed that there exist hydrogen-bonding interactions between phenoxy and the copolymers. The strengths of the hydrogen-bonding interactions in the blends of the COPEEK copolymers containing 6 and 12 mol % EEK are the same as that in the phenoxy/PEK-C blend. However, for the blends of copolymers containing 17, 24, and 28 mol % EEK, the hydrogen-bonding interactions become increasingly unfavorable and the self-association of the hydroxyl groups of phenoxy is preferable as the content of EEK units in the copolymer increases. Three new bromophenols coupled with pyroglutamic acid derivatives and one bromophenol coupled with deoxyguanosine were obtained from the red alga Rhodomela confervoides. By spectroscopic methods including 2D NMR and single-crystal X-ray structure analysis their structures were elucidated as N-(2,3-dibromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzyl)methyl pyroglutamate (1), N-(2,3-dibromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzyl)pyroglutamic acid (2), N-[3-bromo-2-(2,3-dibromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzyl)-4,5-dihydroxybenzyllmethyl pyroglutamate (3), and 2-N-(2,3-dibromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzylamino)deoxyguanosine (4), respectively. Compounds 1-4 were evaluated against several microorganisms and human cancer cell lines, but found inactive. To our knowledge this is the first report of bromophenols coupled with amino acid or nucleoside derivatives through the C-N bond.

Based on Navier-Stokes equations and structural and flight dynamic equations of motion, dynamic responses in vertical discrete gust flow perturbation are investigated for a supersonic transport model. A tightly coupled method was developed by subiterations between aerodynamic equations and dynamic equations of motion. First, under the assumption of rigid-body and single freedom of motion in the vertical plunging, the results of a direct-coupling method are compared with the results of quasi-steady model method. Then, gust responses for the one-minus-cosine gust profile arc analyzed with two freedoms of motion in plunging and pitching for the airplane configurations with and without the consideration of structural deformation.

采用分子动力学方法模拟了铜-铝扩散焊过程,分析了理想平面铜-铝试件(001)晶面间扩散焊的过渡层厚度,并利用径向分布、键对分析方法分析了在不同的降温速率下过渡层的结构变化.降温速率大时,过渡层保持原有无序结构,降温速率小时,过渡层从无序结构向面心立方结构转变.还对扩散焊后的铜-铝试件进行了拉伸模拟,并与尺寸大小相近的单晶铜和单晶铝的拉伸模拟结果进行比较.结果发现焊接后的强度比单晶铝和单晶铜的强度都要小,最大应变值也小.

We recently proposed a strain gradient theory to account for the size dependence of plastic deformation at micron and submicron length scales. The strain gradient theory includes the effects of both rotation gradient and stretch gradient such that the rotation gradient influences the material character through the interaction between the Cauchy stresses and the couple stresses; the stretch gradient measures explicitly enter the constitutive relations through the instantaneous tangent modulus. Indentation tests at scales on the order of one micron have shown that measured hardness increases significantly with decreasing indent size. In the present paper, the strain gradient theory is used to model materials undergoing small-scale indentations. A strong effect of including strain gradients in the constitutive description is found with hardness increasing by a factor of two or more over the relevant range behavior. Comparisons with the experimental data for polycrystalline copper and single crystal copper indeed show an approximately linear dependence of the square of the hardness, H 2, on the inverse of the indentation depth, 1/h, I.e., H-2 proportional to 1/h, which provides an important self-consistent check of the strain gradient theory proposed by the authors earlier.

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme to generate various types of entangled states of light fields by using beam splitters and single-photon detectors. Two beams of light fields are incident on two beam splitters respectively with each beam being asymmetrically split into two parts in which one part is supposed to be so weak that it contains at most one photon. We let the two weak output modes interfere at a third beam splitter. A conditional joint measurement on both weak output modes may result in an entanglement between the other two output modes. The conditions for the maximal entanglement are discussed based on the concurrence. Several specific examples are also examined.

采用单电子近似和软核势模型,通过数值求解一维含时薛定谔方程,理论研究了当脉冲分别带有正、负啁啾的情况下所产生的阿秒脉冲,分析了不同脉冲啁啾特性对阿秒脉冲的强度和宽度的影响,研究结果表明,无论是正啁啾还是负啁啾,随着啁啾量的增加,都将使激光脉冲由产生单个阿秒脉冲趋向于产生阿秒脉冲链,正啁啾和负啁啾对于阿秒脉冲宽度的影响是不同的,负啁啾对于阿秒脉冲宽度影响很小,适当的负啁啾有利于缩小阿秒脉冲的宽度;而正啁啾脉冲产生的阿秒脉冲较无啁啾时展宽,且随着啁啾量的增加,其阿秒脉冲宽度迅速增大。
