We investigated memory impairment in newly hatched chicks following in ovo exposure to a 50-Hz magnetic field (MF) of 2 mT (60 min/day) on embryonic days 12-18. Isolated and paired chicks were used to test the effect of stress during training, and memory retention was tested at 10, 30, and 120 min, following exposure to a bitter-tasting bead (100% methylanthranilate). Results showed that memory was intact at 10 min in both isolated and paired chicks with or without MF exposure. However, while isolated chicks had good memory retention levels at 30 and 120 min, those exposed to MF did not. The results suggest a potential disruption of memory formation following in ovo exposure to MF, with this effect only evident in the more stressed, isolated chicks. We have demonstrated a compact and an efficient passively Q-switched microchip Nd:YVO4 laser by using a composite semiconductor absorber as well as an output coupler. The composite semiconductor absorber was composed of an LT (low-temperature grown) In0.25Ga0.75As absorber and a pure GaAs absorber. To our knowledge, it was the first demonstration of the special absorber for Q-switching operation of microchip lasers. Laser pulses with durations of 1.1 ns were generated with a 350 mu m thick laser crystal and the repetition rate of the pulses was as high as 4.6 MHz. The average output power was 120 mW at the pump power of 700 mW. Pulse duration can be varied from 1.1 to 15.7 ns by changing the cavity length from 0.45 to 5 mm. Pulses with duration of 1.67 and 2.41 ns were also obtained with a 0.7 mm, thick laser crystal and a 1 mm thick laser crystal, respectively. (C) 2007 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.

Equilibrium geometries, stabilities, and electronic properties of TinAl (n=1-13) clusters have been studied by using density-functional theory with local spin density approximation and generalized gradient approximation. The ground-state structures of TinAl clusters have been obtained. The resulting geometries show that the aluminum atom remains on the surface of clusters for n<9, but is slowly getting trapped beyond n=9, meanwhile, the Al atom exhibits a valent transition from monovalent to trivalent. The geometric effects and electronic effects clearly demonstrate the Ti4Al cluster to be endowed with special stability. The studies on the bonds indicate the change from ionic to metalliclike. 天花粉蛋白(Trichosanthin,TCS)是从葫芦科植物括楼(TrichosanthesKiriloii)球根中提取的一种由247个氨基酸组成的I型核糖体失活蛋白(RibosomeInactivatingProtein,RIP)。TCS具有广谱的生物学和药学活性,包括抗肿瘤、免疫抑制、中期引产以及抗病毒活性,TCS还具有抗白血病和淋巴瘤的作用。TCS能够抑制HI卜1在急性感染的T淋巴细胞和慢性感染的巨噬细胞中的复制。TCS抗HIV的机制还不清楚,一般认为与R1(RibosolneInactivating)活性有关。TCS的毒副作用限制了它在抗HIV/AIDS临床上的进一步应用。人们期望通过改造或修饰,在保留TCS抗HIV活性的同时,降低其神经毒副作用及所引起的变态反应。因此,研究TCS的抗HIV-1作用机制及构效关系,有利于拓宽TCS的临床应用适应症,也对RIP类化合物基础研究和应用研究具有重要的指导作用。本论文在实验室己有研究工作的基础上,对TCS抗HIV-1作用、机制及构效关系进一步研究。首先,采用MTT比色法检侧TcS对人T淋巴细胞系C8166、HIV-1慢性感染细胞系H9/HIV-1IIIB细胞毒性作用以及采用台盼蓝染色法检测了TCs对刺激转化的人外周血单个核细胞(PeriphejralBloodMononuclearCen,PBMC)的细胞毒性作用;以合胞体形成抑制实验检测了TCS对实验株HIV-1ms诱导C8166细胞致细胞病变的抑制作用;以捕捉HIV-1p24抗原ELISA方法检测TCS对实验.株HIV-1IIIB在急性感染C8166,细胞和慢性感染Hg细胞中复制的抑制作用、临床分离株HIV-1KMO18在PBMC中复制的抑制作用、耐药株HIV-174v在C8166细胞中复制的抑制作用。其次,利用荧光实时定量RT-PCR检测了TCS对HIV-IIIB吸附和融合宿主细胞的抑制作用;采用高效液相色谱(HighPerformanceLiquidChromatograPhy,HPLC)检测了TCS脱HIV-IRNA腺嘿呤作用;另外还检测了TCS对病毒颗粒的直接杀伤作用、TCS对HIV感染和未感染细胞融合的抑制以及对HIV重组逆转录酶活性的抑制作用。最后,利用以蛋白工程技术构建的14个TCD突变体研究其抗HIV的构效关系,其中活性中心突变体:结果表明,TCS不仅能够有效抑制实验株HIV-1mB在C8166细胞中的复制和HIV-1ms诱导宿主细胞的病变作用,还能抑制临床分离株HIV-1KM018在PMBC中的复制和耐药株HIV-174v在C8166细胞中的复制,但TCS对HIV-1在慢性感染H9细胞中的复制无直接抑制作用。TCS不能抑制HIV-1进入宿主细胞;对感染细胞和未感染细胞的融合没有抑制作用;TCS也不能抑制HIV-1重组逆转录酶活性;TCS对病毒颗粒的直接杀伤作用不大;但TCS能够使裸露的HIV-1RNA脱腺漂呤,可能TCS的脱缥岭活性或其它酶活性直接损伤病毒或者病毒感染细胞的核酸,而胞质腺嗦岭含量的增高则可以导致线粒体膜电位的降低、细胞色素C的释放、活性氧的增加和抗凋亡因子表达的下降,结果使感染细胞更多的凋亡,这可能是TCS抗HIV的一个机制。结果也表明,活性中心突变体TCSM(120-123)与TCSE160A/E189A,在失去绝大部分R工活"性的同时,也几乎完全失去抗HIV活性。、而另一个活性中心突变体TCSR122G,RI活性下降1的倍,却仍保留一定的抗HIV活性。TcSC末端删除突变体(TCSC2,TCSC4和TCSC14)抗HIV活性的下降(1.4-4.8倍)与其R1活性呈平行下降(1.2-3.3倍)。这些结果表明TCS抗HIV-1活性与其R1活性显著相关,但似乎又不是唯一的决定因素,因为我们发现二个分别在C末端加上末端19个氨基酸延伸肤或KDEL信号肤的突变体TCS饥触与TCSKDEL,虽然保留全部的RI活性,但却几乎完全失去抗HIV活性,表明有其它机制介入了TCS的抗HIV-1活性。TCS抗原决定簇位点突变后对TCS抗HIV-1活性没有显著影响,但当在抗原决定簇突变体所引入的Cys残基上加上PEG漱后,这些突变体则显著降低了抗HIV-1的活性。

The multi-electron processes are investigated for 17.9-120keV/u C1+, 30-323 keV/u C2+, 120-438 keV/u C3+, 287-480keV/u C4+ incident on a helium target. The cross-section ratios of double electron (DE) process to the total of the single electron (SE) and the double electron process (i.e. SE+DE), the direct double electron (DDI) to the direct single ionization (DSI) as well as the contributions of DDI to DE and of TI to DE are measured using coincidence techniques. The energy and charge state dependences of the measured cross-section ratios are studied and discussed.

In this article, vertical structure p-type permeable-base organic transistors were proposed and demonstrated. A hole-type organic semiconductor N,N-'-diphentyl-N,N-'-bis(1-naphthylphenyl)-1,1(')-biphenyl-4,4(')-diamine was used as emitter and collector. In the permeable-base transistors, the metal base was formed by firstly coevaporating Al and Ca in vacuum and then annealing at 120 degrees C for 5 min in air, followed by a thin Al deposition. These devices show a common-base current gain of near 1.0 and a common-emitter current gain of similar to 270.

Stabilization effect on metastable phase II of isotactic polybutene-1 (iPB-1) by coated carbon has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron diffraction (ED) techniques. The results indicate that after evaporating carbon, the phase II-I crystal transformation time is greatly prolonged from 9 days for carbon-uncoated samples to 120 days for carbon-coated ones under atmospheric pressure, while under high pressure (50 bar), the phase transformation time increases from 5 min for the former to 20 min for the latter. The stabilization effect on metastable phase II of carbon coated iPB-1 is attributed to a surface fixing effect of the evaporated carbon.

Y2(1-x) Gd2xSiWO8 : A ( 0 <= x <= 1; A= Eu3+, Dy3+, Sm3+, Er3+) phosphor films have been prepared on silica glass substrates through the sol - gel dip-coating process. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), atomic force microscope (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence spectra as well as lifetimes were used to characterize the resulting films. The results of the XRD indicated that the films began to crystallize at 800 degrees C and crystallized completely at 1000 degrees C. The AFM and SEM study revealed that the phosphor films, which mainly consisted of closely packed grains with an average size of 90 - 120 nm with a thickness of 660 nm, were uniform and crack free. Owing to an efficient energy transfer from the WO42- groups to the activators, the doped lanthanide ion ( A) showed its characteristic f - f transition emissions in crystalline Y2(1-x) Gd2xSiWO8 (0 <= x <= 1) films. The optimum concentrations for Eu3+, Dy3+, Sm3+, Er3+ were determined to be 21, 5, 3 and 7 mol% of Y3+ in Y2SiWO8 films, respectively.

在合成BCPDA基础上 ,对甲胎蛋白抗体与BCPDA连接及与铕离子螯合条件进行了研究。BCPDA与甲胎蛋白抗体反应后 ,分离纯化最佳淋洗液为pH9.1的0.1mol/L碳酸盐缓冲溶液 ,BCPDA用量为甲胎蛋白抗体量 (mol)的120~160倍;反应时间为30min。讨论了Eu3+ BCPDA AFP抗体螯合物的荧光光谱 ,最佳温育时间为60min,体系pH值为7.8的Tris HCl溶液。当Eu3+ 浓度为10-6mol/L时,BCPDA的检出限为4.3×10-11mol/L。
