对离子交换波导制备过程中掺铒磷酸盐玻璃表面的侵蚀问题进行了研究,分析了产生侵蚀的原因,提出镀K9玻璃薄膜的方法,对掺铒磷酸盐玻璃表面进行保护.采用光学显微镜和原子力显微镜对波导表面特性进行了表征。同时对平板波导的光学特性进行了测试.研究表明K9玻璃薄膜不仅能够对掺铒磷酸盐玻璃起到保护作用,同时允许交换离子透过进入磷酸盐玻璃形成波导层.

综述了基于电光材料的光学相控阵(OPA)的研究进展。介绍了光学相控阵技术的基本原理以及不同电光材料(铌酸锂电光晶体,AlGaAs光波导,液晶和掺镧锆钛酸铅(PLZT)电光陶瓷)光学相控阵技术的基本构想和涉及的关键技术;着重介绍近年来基于PLZT电光陶瓷材料光学相控阵技术的发展情况以及在这方面的最新研究成果,包括单级相控阵、级联相控阵、不同电极结构(表面电极和上下电极结构)相控阵技术等;最后简要介绍了光学相控阵技术在激光雷达等军事领域中的应用。

We propose a miniature pulse compressor that can be used to compensate the group velocity dispersion that is produced by a commercial femtosecond laser cavity. The compressor is composed of two identical highly efficient deep-etched transmissive gratings. Compared with prism pairs, highly efficient deep-etched transmissive grating pairs are lightweight and small. With an optimized groove depth and a duty cycle, 98% diffraction efficiency of the -1 transmissive order can be achieved at a wavelength of 800 nm under Littrow conditions. The deep-etched gratings are fabricated in fused silica by inductively coupled plasma etching. With a pair of the fabricated gratings, the input positively chirped 73.9 fs pulses are neatly compressed into the nearly Fourier transform-limited 43.2 fs pulses. The miniature deep-etched grating-based pulse compressor should be of interest for practical applications. (c) 2008 Optical Society of America

An approximate analytical description for fundamental-mode fields of graded-index fibers is explicitly presented by use of the power-series expansion method, the maximum-value condition at the fiber axis, the decay properties of fundamental-mode fields at large distance from the fiber axis, and the approximate modal parameters U obtained from the Gaussian approximation. This analytical description is much more accurate than the Gaussian approximation and at the same time keep the simplicity of the latter. As two special examples, we present the approximate analytical formulas for the fundamental-mode fields of a step profile fiber and a Gaussian profile fiber, and we find that they are both highly accurate in the single-mode range by comparing them with the corresponding exact solutions.

A laser-diode array (LDA) side-pumped Nd:YAG slab ring laser is described that incorporates a prism-shaped acousto-optic modulator to enforce unidirectional operation and Q-switching. When pumped by the maximum power of 50 W, Q-switched energies of 3.6 mJ and 50 ns duration, corresponding to a peak power of 72 kW, are obtained. 提出了一种基于光纤环形镜的全光脉冲整形器。该全光脉冲整形器利用波分复用器将控制光脉冲引入光纤环形镜中,控制光脉冲由于交叉相位调制在信号光上产生了非线性附加相移。信号光在耦合器中发生干涉,经过整形的信号光脉冲从脉冲整形器的出射端出射,信号脉冲的波形由非线性附加相移的波形决定。实验中.利用对控制脉冲光谱整形和啁啾展宽的方法来对控制脉冲进行时间脉冲的整形,该全光脉冲整形器实现了对单纵模激光的脉冲整形,同时实现了飞秒脉冲和单纵模整形脉冲的精确同步。在理论上数值计算了该全光脉冲整形器的输出特性,理论计算结果和实验结

We have investigated the basic properties of subwavelength-diameter hollow optical fiber with exact solutions of Maxwell's equations. The characteristics of modal field and waveguide dispersion have been studied. It shows that the subwavelength-diameter hollow optical fibers have interesting properties, such as enhanced evanescent field, local enhanced intensity in the hollow core and large waveguide dispersion that are very promising for many miniaturized high performance and novel photonic devices. 针对激光惯性约束聚变实验研究对高功率激光驱动器前端系统复杂时间形状种子激光脉冲的需求, 应用孔径耦合带状线集成波导整形系统设计了满足需要的前端整形激光脉冲。用一种新方法精确计算了孔径耦合带状线电脉冲整形器的耦合系数和孔径宽度的数值关系, 并针对高衬比度整形激光脉冲的需求, 提出了高衬比度双极型集成波导整形系统方案。由该系统可以得到100 ps脉冲前沿、1~3 ns脉冲宽度可调、高衬比度(大于100∶1)、光滑无纹波调制、可精确满足神光II八路及第九路装置需求的前端整形激光脉冲。

基于棱镜的色散特性,提出一种楔形窗口与聚焦透镜组合的方式,解决了高功率激光装置三倍频谐波分离所存在的问题,即三倍频的高通量传输和靶面辐照。结合“神光Ⅱ”装置多功能高能激光系统有关参数进行系统设计,确定了楔形窗口参数,并对其所引起的B积分和间距误差进行了分析。通过实验测试,三倍频传输通量由0.7~1 J/cm2提高到2.8 J/cm2,同时靶面三倍频和二倍频分离间距达到2.85 mm,实现了高功率激光装置高通量传输的三倍频谐波分离。

在起偏器待测波片检偏器系统基础上提出一种四区域测量波片相位延迟量的方法。调整待测波片和检偏器的方位角,获得相应的四组光强值,通过线性运算得到待测波片的相位延迟量,完全消除了起偏器和检偏器不完全消光带来的误差。由于测量系统中不存在标准波片或其他相位调制元件,允许测量波长仅受偏振棱镜和探测器的限制,因此四区域法可适用于很大波长范围内的波片测量。以λ/4波片为例,理论分析了测量系统利用四区域测量法后的仪器误差为σ≤±3.49065×10-3rad(约0.2°),精度比原算法提高约1个数量级。实验验证了四区域法能有效提高系统精度。

提出了一种新型的基于电光调制的激光光谱整形方案,该整形技术可以减轻啁啾脉冲放大系统中的增益窄化效应。傅立叶变换限的宽带种子激光脉冲通过光学展宽器线性展宽后,耦合到加载有整形电脉冲的集成波导调制器中进行整形,整形电脉冲由孔径耦合带状线电脉冲发生器产生。由于线性啁啾脉冲时间-频率的直接对应关系,在时域内对宽带种子激光脉冲整形,其光谱也得到了同样形状的整形。模拟了整形光谱形状,相应的整形电脉冲波形,分析了该整形技术的光谱整形分辨率,以及整形过程中引入的相位畸变。

We analyze the electromagnetic spatital distributions and address an important issue of the transmission properties of spherical transverse-electric (TE) and transverse-magnetic (TM) eigenmodes within a tapered hollow metallic waveguide in detail. Explicit analytical expressions for the spatital distributions of electromagnetic field components, attenuation constant, phase constant and wave impedance are derived. Accurate eigenvalues obtained numerically are used to study the dependences of the transmission properties on the taper angle, the mode as well as the length of the waveguide. It is shown that all modes run continuously from a propagating through a transition to an evanescent region and the value of the attenuation increases as the distance from the cone vertex and the cone angle decrease. A strict distinction between pure propagating and pure evanescent modes cannot be achieved. One mode after the other reaches cutoff in the tapered hollow metallic waveguide as the distance from the cone vertex desreases. (C) 2008 Optical Society of America

详细描述了用光纤耦合、波长复用的全息光盘仔储光路.指出在全息光盘驱动器即将市场化的今天.由于其光路简单、光学元件较少、性价比高.很有可能成为新的全息光盘驱动器的核心技术之一。由于短波长单模光纤及其双波长光纤分束器件的要求比较高.而用多模光纤进行准单模输出调整.以及用分光棱镜进行光束的分光.同时用对双波长敏感的光致聚合物材料进行存储.其光谱灵敏度均匀.光谱范围互不重叠。实验结果表明.光路结构合理.存储效果良好。

采用面泵浦的CAMIL结构,我们研究了970 nm泵浦的Yb:YAG/YAG复合陶瓷薄片激光器,获得了连续和调Q的激光输出。在连续运转情况下,获得了最高1.05 W的激光输出,中心波长为1031 nm,后腔输出镜透射率为2%。我们同时获得了声光调Q的脉冲输出,重复频率从1 kHz到30 kHz,脉宽分别从166 ns到700 ns。

根据波导模理论,推导了高功率激光二极管阵列的远场分布,根据其分布特点,设计了一种离轴外腔.运用这种外腔,在工作电流为17A时,光束的束宽积从自由运转时的1100mm.mrad减小到128mm.mrad,二极管阵列的光束质量提高了8.5倍左右,输出功率约为自由运转时的75%.
