The self-assembled monolayer(SAM) of 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid [HS(CH2)(10)COOH] was formed on a gold electrode and the effect of the charge of end group on the electrochemical response of Fe(CN)(6)(3-) at the SAM modified electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry. At high pH, when the -COOH groups are dissociated, the current of Fe(CN)(6)(3-) is suppressed; as the solution pH is lowered, the current of Fe(CN)(6)(3-) increases. The electrochemical titration curve was obtained by correlating the currents of Fe(CN)(6)(3-) to the different pH values of electrolyte, from which the surface pK(a) was obtained to be 3. 0+/-0. 2. Furthermore, the reason of small pK(a) value was explained using SAMs of different surface coverage.

在BaMAl10O17 体系中 ,将M扩大到除镁以外的其它离子 ,研究和讨论了离子半径与基质结构的形成关系 ,提出能稳定(形成)尖晶石结构的M离子有相应的磁铅矿或β Al2O3 结构的化合物存在的思想 ,并研究了Eu2 +在体系中的发光性能。结果表明 ,M=Zn,Cd,Mn,Co,Li时可形成 β Al2O3 结构化合物 ,M=Ca,Be时不能形成这类结构 ,Ca形成多相共存 ,Be形成一未知相 ;Eu2 +在M=Li,Be,Zn体系中具有良好的发光性能 ,发射波长450nm ,半高宽在50nm附近 ,将是一类很有前途的新的蓝色发光材料 ,Eu2 +在M=Mn的体系中存在Eu2 +和Mn2 +的同时发射 ,在M=Cd体系中 ,Eu2 +产生一双重宽带发射。对实验结果进行了合理的解释

A novel compound was synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR and UV spectra, TG, CV and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallized in an orthorhombic space group C222 with a=1. 622 4(3) nm, b=3. 498 4(7) nm, c=1. 301 5(3) nm, V=7. 387 (3) nm(3), Z=6, R-1= 0. 037 3, wR(2)=0. 114 0. The Ala (Ala = alanine) molecules were protonated at the amino nitrogen N (1) and the C (2) of Ala group with the terminal oxygen atom O(15), O(14), O(26) and O(27) of the polyoxometalates participating in the hydrogen bond network. The anti-tumor activity of the title compound was estimated against Hela and Pc-3m cancer cells.

9,10-Phenanthrenequinone (PQ) supported on graphite powder by adsorption was dispersed in propyltrimethoxysilane-derived gels to yield a conductive composite which was used as electrode material to fabricate a PQ-modified carbon ceramic electrode. In this configuration, PQ acts as a catalyst, graphite powder guarantees conductivity by percolation, the silicate provides a rigid porous backbone, and the propyl groups endow hydrophobicity and thus limit the wetting region of the modified electrode. Square-wave voltammetry was exploited to investigate the pH-dependent electrochemical behavior of the composite electrode and an almost Nernstian response was obtained from pH 0.42 to 6.84. Because the chemically modified electrode can electrocatalyze the reduction of iodate in acidic aqueous solution (pH 2.45), it was used as an amperometric sensor for the determination of iodate in table salt. The advantages of the electrode are that it can be polished in the event of surface fouling, it is simple to prepare, has excellent chemical and mechanical stability, and the reproducibility of surface-renewal is good.

Nylon 10 10 crystals, which isothermally crystallized from the molten state and cold crystallized from melt-quenched samples at various temperatures, were investigated by using temperature-variable wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). No Brill transition occurred for the melt-crystallized crystals. However, this transition was easily observed for the cold-crystallized nylon 10 10, and the transition temperature is pertinent to the crystallization temperature. The sizes of these crystals was determined by SAYS and correlated with the Brill transition temperatures (T-B). It was found that the T-B had a linear relationship with the size of crystals, which was used to predict the T-B for those crystals with thick lamella and to calculate the crystal size showing T-B below room temperature. Nylon 10 10 crystal will possess the gamma form (pseudohexagonal form) rather than the a phase at room temperature if its size becomes small enough.

A composite solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) of (PEO)(10)LiClO4-Al2O3 was prepared and Pt and stainless steel(SS) blocking electrodes were used for an impedance study. It was found that the semicircle in the high frequency range and the straight line in the low frequency range depend upon different blocking electrodes and polarization potentials applied in the experiments. In the equivalent circuit. two constant phase elements (CPE) have been used instead of the pure geometrical and double layer capacitances. respectively. A theoretical line calculated from their estimated values has a good correlation with the experiment data. Moreover. the equivalent circuit also can be used to explain the impedance properties of Pt and stainless steel (SS) blocking electrodes both in the high and the low frequency ranges. A new solvent, dimethylformamide (DMF), and the traditional solvent, 1,4-butanediol, were used to prepare single crystals of nylon-10,10 from a dilute solution. The lamellae grown from DMF inhabited a more perfect structure and regular shape than those crystals crystallized from traditional solvents such as 1,4-butanediol and glycerin. These thin and perfect lamellar crystals demonstrated patterns of variation in spacing different from those of melt-crystallized spherulites on heating. Specifically, the two main spacings slightly separated rather than continuously approaching each other when the temperature was greater than 180 degreesC. This is a novel phenomenon observed in nylons. Nevertheless, the usual pattern of change in spacing was observed during the cooling process. These lamellar crystals showed more compact spacing of the (002) and (010/100) planes than spherulites at room temperature. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

The nanoscale and microscale fibrillar crystals of nylon 10 10 were obtained by atomizing the very dilute formic acid solution. The length-diameter ratio of these fibrillar crystals increases as the concentration of the atomizing solution increases. Electron diffraction (ED) analysis showed that the hydrogen-bonded sheet in these solution-grown fibrillar crystals was imperfect and had a lower order. Both electron diffraction and characteristic morphology show that melt-crystallized fibrillar crystals always possess perfect packing order and stable structure. A rather perfect ED pattern of the triclinic form of nylon 10 10 along the [001] zone was obtained by tilting the specimen 41 degrees along the elongated direction of the crystal. Fibrillar crystals from bulk have a great tendency to aggregate with parallel packing to form crystal clusters, which look like shish kebabs in morphology. 用 WAXD、偏光显微镜 (PM)及 DSC研究了聚烯烃弹性体乙烯 - α-烯烃共聚物 (EOCP)对 PA10 10结晶行为的影响。WAXD结果显示纯弹性体 (EOCP)和接枝弹性体 (EOCP- g- MA)对 PA10 10的晶型均不产生影响。PM观察则表明共混体系中 EOCP与 PA10 10的相互作用很弱 ,在 PA10 10结晶过程中 ,大部分 EOCP被排除在球晶之外 ;而接枝 EOCP与 PA10 10存在较强的相互作用 ,大量的 EOCP- g- MA作为成核剂 ,使 PA10 10球晶向细晶化方向发展 ,而且随弹性体含量的增多而加强。DSC分析证实了接枝EOCP以异相成核剂的方式促进了 PA10 10的结晶 ,尤其是促进了 PA10 10的高温结晶

Three new asymmetrical ruthenium (II) complexes: [Ru(phen)(2){phen-NHCO(CH2)(4)Br}](PF6)(2), [Ru(phen)(2){phen-NHCO(CH2)(5)Br}](PF6)(2) and [Ru(phen)(2){phen-NHCO(CH2)(10)Br}](PF6)(2) were synthesized, which were confirmed by the technique of FT-IR, H-1 NMR and ESI-MS. The electrochemical and fluorescent properties of three Ru (II) complexes were investigated with cyclic voltammetry and fluorometry.

A manganese molybdenum phosphate, (NH3CH2CH2NH3)(10)(H3O)(3)(H5O)Na-2[MnMo12O24(OH)(6) (PO4)(4)(PO3OH)(4)][MnMo12O24 (OH)(6)(PO4)(6)(PO3OH)(2)]. 9H(2)O, has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of this compound may be considered to be two [Mo6O12(OH)(3)(PO4)(2)(HPO4)(2)](7-) units bonded together by a manganese atom, although several P-O groups are not protonated on account of coordination to a Na+ cation. One-dimensional tunnels were formed in the solid. A probe reaction of the oxidation of acetaldehyde with H2O2 using this compound as catalyst was carried out in a liquid-solid system, showing that the manganese molybdenum phosphate has high catalytic activity in the reaction.

Four novel screw-like Ru(II) complexes, tris(5-lauramide-1,10-phenanthroline)Ru(II) bishexafluorophosphate, tris(5-myristamide-1,10-phenanthroline)Ru(II) bishexafluorophosphate, tris(5-palmitamide-1,10-phenanthroline)Ru(II) bishexafluorophosphate and tris (5-stearamide-1,10-phenanthroline)Ru(II) bishexafluorophosphate have been efficiently synthesized. They are confirmed by the techniques of IR, H-1 NMR, H-1-H-1 COSY and ES-MS. Also, their electrochemistry, fluorescence and electrochemiluminescence are reported.
