Policy Coordination in an Oligopolistic Housing Market

This paper analyzes the consequences of the interaction between two different levels of government (regulators) in the development of housing policy when their decisions determine the level of competition in the housing market. The analysis discusses the implications derived from a lack of coordination between a local regulator who controls the supply of land for housing development and a central regulator who decides on housing subsidies. The results suggest that lack of coordination has significant effects on prices and supply of houses, housing developers’ profits, and buyers’ surplus.

Tiempos de crisis, tiempos de des-ajustes, tiempos de mujeres

El objetivo de este artículo es reflexionar sobre cómo está impactando la crisis actual a la población del estado español, en el marco europeo, desde un enfoque de género. Con este fin, se intentan analizar los efectos que la crisis y las políticas que se están tomando para afrontarla, están teniendo en la vida y en los trabajos de las mujeres y los hombres, a partir de las estadísticas disponibles. Así, se reflexiona sobre los efectos más evidentes que esta crisis está teniendo tanto sobre la esfera mercantil como sobre los trabajos no mercantiles. El artículo finaliza con una serie de propuestas de mínimos para avanzar en la superación de esta crisis desde una perspectiva feminista.

Coordination and crystallisation molecules: Their interactions affecting the dimensionality of metalloporphyrinic SCFs

Synthetic metalloporphyrin complexes are often used as analogues of natural systems, and they can be used for the preparation of new Solid Coordination Frameworks (SCFs). In this work, a series of six metalloporphyrinic compounds constructed from different meso substituted metalloporphyrins (phenyl, carboxyphenyl and sulfonatophenyl) have been structurally characterized by means of single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The compounds were classified considering the dimensionality of the crystal array, referred just to coordination bonds, into 0D, 1D and 2D compounds. This way, the structural features and relationships of those crystal structures were analyzed, in order to extract conclusions not only about the dimensionality of the networks but also about possible applications of the as-obtained compounds, focusing the interest on the interactions of coordination and crystallization molecules. These interactions provide the coordination bonds and the cohesion forces which produce SCFs with different dimensionalities.
