Apuntes para una historia de la librería Denné (1785-1885)

Desde comienzos del siglo XIX, el sector editorial experimenta un fuerte crecimiento en París. Entre los libreros-editores, unas pocas editoriales, como Denné, se especializan en la venta y la producción de obras en lenguas extranjeras. El establecimiento fundado por esta familia, la Librería Española y Americana, se vuelve el punto de encuentro de hispanohablantes que se encuentran en la capital y que quieren comprar o hacer publicar sus libros en su lengua materna. Tal fue, probablemente, el caso de Eugenio Cambaceres

From the beginning of the XIXth century, the printing industry in Paris shows a strong growth. Among the numerous booksellers-editors in the sector, a few of them, such as Denné, specialize in the selling and printing of books in foreign languages. The establishment founded by this family, Librería Española y Americana, soon becomes the meeting point for the Spanish-speaking community residing in the French capital, whose members want to buy or publish books or periodicals in their mother tongue.
