Kaupallisten komposiittituotteiden materiaaliominaisuuksien määritys ja vertailu

Tässä kandidaatintyössä tutkittiin viiden kaupallisen puu-muovikomposiittituotteen säänkestävyyttä kolmen eri materiaaliominaisuuden avulla. Tuotteet olivat Suomessa markkinoilla olevia terassirakentamisen tuotteita ja niiltä mitattiin Charpy -iskulujuutta, veden absorptiokykyä ja värinmuutosta. Tuloksia verrattiin sekä keskenään, että muualla maailmassa tutkittujen kaupallisten tuotteiden kanssa. Tulosten perusteella havaittiin, että Suomen markkinoilla olevien tuotteiden säänkestävyys on erinomainen.

In this Bachelor’s thesis, resistance of weathering of five commercial wood-plastic composite products’ was examined by testing three different material properties. The products were decking products that are available in Finnish market. Charpy impact strength, water absorption and color change were the three material properties that were measured. Results were compared between each product, and with other commercial products that had been tested elsewhere in the world. Based on the results, the resistance of weathering in Finnish market’s products was excellent.
