Inserido no âmbito do Projeto Europeu “My Food My Medicine” (Meu Alimento Meu Medicamento), que tem como ideia base o conselho de Hipócrates de que a nossa alimentação deve ser o nosso medicamento, realizou-se um Trabalho de Projeto de formação sobre a manutenção da saúde através da promoção de uma alimentação saudável e pela recuperação do uso de receitas tradicionais/caseiras de medicamentos naturais usados ancestralmente na resposta aos distúrbios de saúde mais comuns. Objetivos Gerais: O principal objetivo do projeto é levar os participantes a compreender os princípios e receitas da medicina tradicional e natural, as características dos ingredientes e os seus benefícios para a saúde. Metodologia: Elaboração de um projeto de formação com materiais educativos, testados pela sua aplicação, e realização de questionários a formadores e formandos. Resultados: Verificou-se algum conhecimento por parte dos formandos de grande parte das receitas de remédios caseiros, embora por vezes com alguma desconfiança da sua eficácia, acreditamos terem ficado com intenção de usar a maior parte das receitas expostas pela sua facilidade de elaboração e pela valorização crescente da tradicionalidade e ancestralidade, julgamos desta forma poder ter contribuído para a promoção e manutenção da saúde; Abstract: As part of the European Project "My Food My Medicine” which has as its central idea the Board of Hippocrates that our food should be our medicine i.e., a healthy diet is the foundation of a healthy life, this report presents an educational project about the maintenance of health through the promotion of healthy eating that is reflected also by the use of natural medicines based on homemade/traditional recipes used ancestrally that respond to the most common health disorders. Objectives: Take the participants to understand the basic principles and the recipes of traditional medicine, the characteristics of the ingredients and their health benefits. Methodology: Development of an educational project and educational materials, tested trough out its implementation, and conducting questionnaires to trainers and trainees. Results: The objective was accomplished. It was found some familiarity on the part of the graduates of most recipes for home remedies although sometimes with some distrust of their validity. The schooling contributed to health promotion. The trainees demonstrated the intention to use the recipes exposed as a way to maintain a healthy life.

No actual contexto empresarial, com uma competitividade e complexidade dos mercados crescente, o marketing tem ganho uma grande relevância na direcção e desenvolvimento das empresas, independentemente do sector onde actuem. As áreas da geriatria e dos serviços de saúde não são excepção, apesar de por vezes nas pequenas e médias empresas, não estarem claramente identificadas todas as políticas e estratégias de marketing que deverão pautar as decisões a tomar. Toma-se então não só importante, como de extrema necessidade, que tal como as decisões financeiras, também as decisões de marketing sejam tomadas de forma explícita e estratégica, de forma que se clarifique no interior da organização o rumo a seguir. Este trabalho irá incidir sobre o marketing de uma empresa que desenvolve a sua actividade num ramo de negócio emergente em Portugal, os Cuidados Continuados Integrados e as Residências Assistidas, tendo como objectivo a sustentabilidade e expansão da organização. Como acontece com a maior parte das empresas de pequena dimensão, a L Nostrum S.A. não dispõe de um plano de marketing, sendo de extrema importância que se proceda à elaboração e implementação de um projecto desta natureza Assim, a proposta que aqui se apresenta têm como objectivo central o desenvolvimento de um plano de marketing de curto prazo para a empresa L Nostrum S.A. ABSTRACT: ln the actual business context, with growmg market competitiveness and complexity, marketing has been getting higher relevance in company development, regardless the sector in which these companies operate. The areas of geriatrics and healthcare aren't an exception, although sometimes in some SME's the marketing strategies that shall regulate some of the company's decisions, aren't clearly defined. So, it becomes not only important, as a dire need, that, just like financial decisions, also marketing decisions, are made in an explicit and strategic way, so it becomes clear the path that the organization should follow. This work will focus on the marketing campaign of a company which acts on a business branch emerging in Portugal, the Integrated Continuous Care and Assisted Living Facilities, having as its objective the sustainability and expansion of this organization. Like most small companies, L Nostrum S.A., does not have a marketing plan, being of extreme significance the elaboration and implementation of a project of this nature. So, the proposal here presented has as its main objective the development of a short term marketing plan for the company L Nostrum S.A.

In competitive tourism markets the consumer-traveller is spoilt by choice of available destinations. Successfully differentiating a destination and getting noticed at decision time is arguably the focus of activities by destination marketing organisations (DMOs). In pursuit of differentiation, three emergent themes in the marketing literature during the past decade have been branding, integrated marketing communications (IMC), and customer relationship management (CRM) a fundamental goal of each being stimulating customer loyalty. However there has been little attention given to destination loyalty in the tourism literature. The purpose of this paper is to report an exploratory investigation of visitor relationship management (VRM) by DMOs. Based on interviews with the management of 11 regional tourism organisations (RTO) in Queensland, Australia, the opportunities for, and immediate challenges of, VRM are discussed. While each RTO recognised the potential for VRM, none had yet been able to develop a formal approach to engage in meaningful dialogue with previous visitors from their largest market.

This paper reports on a study that investigates the emotions elicited from appraising SMS-based mobile marketing (m-marketing) communications under three marketing conditions: product consistency, incentives and permission giving. Results from the experimental design show that appraising m-marketing communications elicits both single emotions and mixed emotions; that is, a mixture of positive and negative emotions in the same response. Additionally, the results show that the influence of specific marketing conditions may increase or reduce the intensity of the emotions elicited. This study contributes to marketing practice by examining consumer appraisals of m-marketing communications under different combinations of marketing conditions. The results provide insights into which emotions are likely to be elicited as a result, and how a specific marketing condition might influence their levels of intensity. The study contributes to marketing theory also through combining appraisal theory with Richins (1997) consumption emotion set.

This paper reports on a Q-methodology study on the consumption of mobile phones and opinions on SMS-marketing, extracted from interpretive interviews and focus groups. The Metaphors Q-sort, developed within a framework of Holt's (1995) four metaphors of consumption, identifies three experiential value clusters in the consumption of mobile phones: the Mobile Pragmatists, the Mobile Connectors and the Mobile Revelers. The SMS-marketing Q-sort identifies two key clusters of subjective opinions on various aspects of SMS-based mobile-marketing. By integrating the findings from these two Q-sorts, we demonstrate that while all three value clusters express positive opinions towards ‘location specific’ and ‘customer initiated contact’ SMS-marketing, there are noticeable differences in how marketers should develop their strategies to maximize the consumers’ perceived experiential value derived from the consumption of their mobile phones. Marketing communications as a discipline has changed significantly in both theory and practice over the past decade. But has our teaching of IMC kept pace with the discipline changes? The purpose of this paper is to explore how far the evolving concepts of IMC are reaching university learners. By doing this, the paper offers an approach to assessing how well marketing curricula are fulfilling their purpose. The course outlines (syllabi) for all IMC courses in 30 universities in Australia and five universities in New Zealand were analyzed. The findings suggest that most of what is taught in the units is not IMC. It is not directed by the key constructs of IMC, nor by the research informing the discipline. Rather, it appears to have evolved little from traditional promotion management units and is close in content and structure to many introductory advertising courses. This paper suggests several possible explanations for this, including: (1) a tacit rejection of IMC as a valid concept; (2) a lack of information about what IMC is and what it is not; and (3) a scarcity of teaching and learning materials that are clearly focused on key constructs and research issues of IMC.
