This paper explores how the amalgamated wisdom of East and West can instigate a wisdombased renaissance of humanistic epistemology (Rooney & McKenna, 2005) to provide a platform of harmony in managing knowledge-worker productivity, one of the biggest management challenges of the 21st century (Drucker, 1999). The paper invites further discussions from the social and business research communities on the significance of "interpretation realism" technique in comprehending philosophies of Lao Tzu Confucius and Sun Tzu (Lao/Confucius/Sun] written in "Classical Chinese." This paper concludes with a call to build prudent, responsible practices in management which affects the daily lives of many (Rooney & McKenna, 2005) in today's knowledgebased economy. Interpretation Realism will be applied to an analysis of three Chinese classics of Lao/Confucius/Sun which have been embodied in the Chinese culture for over 2,500 years. Comprehending Lao/Confucius/Sun's philosophies is the first step towards understanding Classical Chinese culture. However, interpreting Chinese subtlety in language and the yin and yang circular synthesis in their mode of thinking is very different to understanding Western thought with its open communication and its linear, analytical pattern of Aristotelian/Platonic wisdom (Zuo, 2012). Furthermore, Eastern ways of communication are relatively indirect and mediatory in culture. Western ways of communication are relatively direct and litigious in culture (Goh, 2002). Furthermore, Lao/Confucius/Sun's philosophies are difficult to comprehend as there are four written Chinese formats and over 250 dialects: Pre-classical Chinese Classical Chinese Literary Chinese and modern Vernacular Chinese Because Classical Chinese is poetic, comprehension requires a mixed approach of interpretation realism combining logical reasoning behind "word splitting word occurrences", "empathetic metaphor" and "poetic appreciation of word.

Pierre Hadot, dans Qu’est-ce que la philosophie antique? et dans Exercices spirituels et philosophie antique, propose une relecture des textes fondateurs de la philosophie occidentale afin de démontrer qu’originellement, les philosophes de l’Antiquité avaient pour but non seulement d’élaborer une systématisation rationnelle du monde, mais également de modifier concrètement, grâce à certains exercices, leur manière de vivre. Aujourd’hui, cette conception de la philosophie n’est plus privilégiée : l’aspect intellectuel à pris le dessus sur l’aspect expérientiel, ce qui incite à considérer la philosophie avant tout comme un discours rationnel et objectif. Pour cette raison, la pensée métaphorique, imagée et poétique de Zhuangzi, ne peut pour certains être considérée comme véritablement philosophique puisqu’elle ne cherche pas à élaborer une conception systématique de la réalité. Elle propose plutôt des moyens de s’ouvrir à l’expérience, grâce à certaines pratiques concrètes, afin de devenir plus sage. Ce mémoire cherchera à réhabiliter l’aspect expérientiel de la philosophie privilégié notamment par les penseurs grecs de l’antiquité, afin de démontrer la valeur proprement philosophique de l’oeuvre de Zhuangzi.

Systemic thinking may be traced hack to several roots. Some of them can he found in Taoism, the basic concepts of which are the achievement of cosmic harmony and a well-balanced social order. Others can be found in Greek philosophy. Similarly, modern physics in its most advanced branches is now recognizing basic aspects of these same roots in a scientific guise. The more the process of research and theory building advances, the more phenomena are recognized as complex and interdependent with other phenomena. Interdisciplinary research and the constitution of new disciplines are contributing to a scientific approximation of integral reality, which is becoming more and more like the one everyone knows as prescientific. The transcendence of the narrow boundaries of positivist sciences seems to be becoming a necessity for scientific evolution. The ecological crisis of the twentieth century may itself lead to increased systemic thinking, and it is in full awareness of the fact that there are no simple solutions that the systemic evaluator tries to cope with the problems of the dynamics of social and political interventions in the Third World as a means of development co-operation..
