OPTIMAX research summer school: um projeto pedagógico para a promoção da investigação em radiologia

Porquê este projeto? Conhecimentos, aptidões, competências; desenvolvimento de competências (instrumentais, interpessoais, sistémicas); contributo para uma concepção de carácter multidimensional do estudante, preparando-o para apreender a importância da investigação, preparando-o para uma profissão de saúde; as novas soluções tecnológicas, a par da inovação e a mudança nos cuidados de saúde e dos processos de trabalho, constituem hoje os desafios do presente e do futuro para os profissionais de saúde [o desenvolvimento da tecnologia e da informática, a educação e a prática baseada na evidência (investigação), as mudanças nos processos de trabalho, o trabalho em equipa, a dimensão internacional]; a investigação e o seu impacto na profissão (desenvolvimento de conhecimentos próprios das profissões, autonomia, impacto positivo nas práticas profissionais, benefício do doente); a investigação auxilia no processo de definição dos parâmetros de uma profissão (nenhuma profissão terá um desenvolvimento sustentado sem o contributo da investigação; é através da investigação que se constitui um domínio de conhecimentos baseados na evidência que permitam as boas práticas); apostar num projeto associado à investigação, com uma base científica que contribua para uma melhor educação e prática profissional visando assegurar a credibilidade da profissão; aprendizagem centrada no estudante; adopção de metodologias de ensino que promovam a autonomia, o raciocínio, a capacidade crítica e a resolução de problemas.

Renewable energy systems the theme for the PACITA summer school on TA, Liège, Belgium, 25 28 June 2012

The summer school “Renewable Energy Systems: Role and Use of Parliamentary Technology Assessment” was the first European Summer School with a pure focus on technology assessment. The aim of the three-day long summer school of the European project Parliaments and Civil Society in Technology Assessment (PACITA) was to create awareness of the potential of technology groups in Europe. Therefore, the summer school involved keynotes, practical exercises, mutual reflection, cutting edge training and networking to deal with the theme of renewable energy systems out of the perspective of Technology Assessment (TA), to meet transition objectives or to critically assess energy technologies.

Summer School Programme

The Summer School aims to enable and foster a climate of inquiry for critical thinking, quantitative analysis and explore existing relevant data sources. We aim to develop the concepts and tools associated with quantitative research related to child health and wellbeing. Building on participants’ existing knowledge of research, policy and practice, we will focus on the quantitative skills necessary to mine and critique relevant national databases, conduct basic quantitative research and apply these skills to work. The SPSS workshops will provide  participants with a basic understanding of a statistical programme for analysing empirical data and the open clinics will allow participants to discuss their own research issues with experts.

The Quantitative Methodologies in Policy and Practice for Child Health and Wellbeing Summer School is organised by the Children’s Research Network for Ireland and Northern Ireland in conjunction with TCD School of Nursing & Midwifery. The Children’s Research Network for Ireland and Northern Ireland is a not for profit membership-based organization which supports the research community to better understand and improve the lives of children and young people, by creating and maintaining an inclusive, independent network through which  information, knowledge, experience, learning and skills can be shared. Membership to the network facilitates access to workshops, summer schools, and events focused on children’s research. The Summer School is funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
