Estudo comparado do pensamento de Joan Robinson e Milton Friedman

É objetivo deste trabalho a ánalise comparada do pensamento de dois economista: Milton Frideman que acredita no capitalismo como um sistema que garante a maximização do desenvolvimento e Joan Robinson cujos são diferentes e que propõe o socialismo como solução mais plausível para os problemas econômicos que atingem a maioria dos povos. Esta análise nos permitirá compreender melhor como são tratados e explicados os problemas sócio-econômicos partindo de premissas diferentes sobre suas causas.

Un marco analítico de la discriminación laboral. Teorias, modalidades y estudios para Colombia

Este documento presenta un resumen de las principales corrientes teóricas que han tratado de dar una explicación a la discriminación laboral, asi como una exposición pedagógica de las principales modalidades mediante las cuales dicha discriminación se manifiesta. Se realiza un particular análisis de las consecuencias que dicha discriminación tiene, en particular para el caso de los jóvenes de América Latina, y finalmente se realiza una revisión de los estudios que sobre el tema se han realizado en Colombia, sus aspectos metodológicos y las conclusiones a las que dichos estudios han llegado.

Quaternary Glacial Geology of Alta Ribagorqa Basin (Central Southern Pyrenees)

This paper is an abstract of the doctoral thesis presented by the autor at the University of Barcelona on September 1983. It constitutes a regional study about the Quatemary Glacial Geology in the Ribagorca high valleys. It is the first work in relation to the geomorphology, sedimentology and stratigraphy of the glacial and related deposits in this zone of the Pyrenees. Several formations of quatemary deposits have been studied in detail (mainly in Llauset Valley and in Tall area); and the local quatemary stratigraphy is established and finally a correlation with some previously studied areas in the Pyrenees is attemped.

Geochemistry of basalts near the Tamayo Fracture Zone

Recent investigations of the southern Gulf of California (22°N) on Leg 65 of the Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP) allow important comparisons with drilled sections of ocean crust formed at different spreading rates. During Leg 65 the Glomar Challenger drilled seven basement holes at sites forming a transect across the ridge axis near the Tamayo Fracture Zone. An additional site was drilled on the fracture zone itself, where a small magnetic "diapir" was located. Together with the material from Site 474 (drilled during Leg 64) the cores recovered at these sites are representative of the upper basaltic and sedimentary crust formed since the initial opening of the Gulf. The pattern of magmatic accretion at the ridge axis is conditioned by the moderate to high rate of spreading (~6 cm/y.) and comparatively high sedimentation rates that now characterize the Gulf of California. In terms of spreading rate, this region is intermediate between the "superfast" East Pacific Rise axis to the south (up to 17 cm/y.) and the slow-spreading Mid-Atlantic Ridge (2-4 cm/y.) both of which have been extensively studied by dredging and drilling.
