O objetivo central desta tese investigar o potencial de transformao social da organizao no-governamental, ligada a CNBB(Confederao Nacional dos Bispos do Brasil).- Pastoral da Criana - para a libertao de mulheres que l atuam, das relaes de dominao e opresses inerentes ao contexto kyriarchal. Esta pesquisa procura considerar o espao religioso subjacente organizao em decorrncia das influncias das CEBs (Comunidades Eclesiais de Base) e do MRCC (Movimento de Renovao Catlica Carismtica). feita pesquisa de campo na regio de Curitiba com observaes e entrevistas semi-estruturadas com doze mulheres atuando na Pastoral da Criana, valorizando-se a relao intersubjetiva entre pesquisadora e pessoas envolvidas na pesquisa. A anlise qualitativa de dados em relao ao marco terico feminista desenvolvido em Cincias Sociais pela sociologia, psicanlise e tambm a teologia, mostra o discurso das representaes sociais das mulheres envolvidas, a percepo de suas prprias identidades e a importncia da organizao na construo de suas vidas. Nos traz a concluso que a organizao reproduz o perfil tradicional de mulheres na funo materna e facilita a formao de redes comunitrias. Averigua-se que a Pastoral da Criana est vinculada ao sistema neoliberal de pensamento que reproduz os discursos de dominao do sistema kyriarchal da hierarquia da Igreja Catlica e da medicina higienista. Essas instituies de apropriam da vida e dos corpos das mulheres e os reduzem s suas funes meramente biolgicas, reprodutivas e de cuidados. A Pastoral da Criana caracterizada por atividades que no consideram as causas estruturais da pobreza, mas apenas tentam amenizar os seus efeitos e conseqncias. Em suas capacitaes, a organizao usa a forma bancria de educao que reproduz as relaes de dominao e dependncia de mulheres pobres. A organizao, mesmo com a estrutura da ideologia religiosa analisada, no est vinculada sistematicamente em um espao religioso. Sugere-se em relao situao da organizao, a abertura das idias e valores feministas nos campos da sade e religio a fim de promover a libertao e empoderamento reais de mulheres pobres. Esta recomendao est ligada com a abertura, a necessidade de reflexo e de conhecimento, mostradas pelas mulheres entrevistadas durante a pesquisa de campo. Considera-se como limitao aos resultados da pesquisa, o local pesquisado por no ter influncias de movimentos sociais.(AU)

This article aims to provide an overview of the products Catalonia has to offer in terms of religious tourism. The growing interest in this kind of tourism worldwide, and in Catalonia itself, along with the region's wealth of religious heritage (particularly connected to the Christian Church) contrast with the lack of religion-based tourism products available, which results in its absence from the region's image as a tourism destination. In view of this, the Faculty of Tourism (University of Girona), the Vic Bishopric's Albergueria-Centre for Cultural Dissemination and the Tarraconense Episcopal Conference's Interdiocese Secretariat for the Custody and Promotion of Holy Art (SICPAS) decided to address the situation with the help of funding from the Autonomous Government of Catalonia. In order to re-position Christian religious heritage in the image of Catalonia as a tourist destination, the aforementioned parties embarked upon a project to set up a series of routes throughout the region, branded under the name Catalonia Sacra

Abstract This thesis argues that poverty alleviation strategies and programs carried out by the government and Non Governmental Organizations in Ghana provide affirmative solutions to poverty. This is because, these intervention strategies have been influenced by conventional discourses on poverty that fail to adequately address non-economic issues of poverty such as powerlessness, marginalization and tmder-representation. The study is carried out in a two-pronged manner; first, it analyses state policies and strategies, particularly the Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy (GPRS), on poverty alleviation and compares these to NGO programs, implemented with funds and support from external donor organizations. Specifically, I focus on how NGOs and the governnlent of Ghana negotiate autonomy and financial dependency with their funding donor-partners and how these affect their policies and programs. Findings from this study reveal that while external influences dominate poverty alleviation policies and strategies, NGOs and the government of Ghana exercise varying degrees of agency in navigating these issues. In particular, NGOs have been able to adapt their programs to the changing needs of donor markets, and are also actively engaged in re-orienting poverty back to the political domain through advocacy campaigns. Overall, rural communities in Ghana depend on charitable NGOs for the provision of essential social services, while the Ghanaian government depends on international donor assistance for its development projects.

El cristianisme, en els seus inicis, signific per la dona la possibilitat de triar un dest diferent al del matrimoni i la maternitat que li deparava la societat greco-romana. Tanmateix, en el procs d'institucionalitzaci de la nova religi (s. I-IV), la dona, que en les primitives comunitats cristianes havia ocupat llocs de responsabilitats al costat dels seus companys masculins, va quedar relegada al desenvolupament de tasques assistencials. Els canvis experimentats pel rol femen durant aquest perode es manifestaran en les transformacions operades a travs de la literatura en la figura de Tecla d'Iconi (santa Tecla), un personatge intemporal, tan capa de representar els diferents arquetips de dona ideal que ha creat l'Esglsia cristiana, com les nsies emancipadores d'alguns collectius feministes.

Citizenship education was intensively discussed during the 1910s. Patriotic ideals and the love of the fatherland were described with diligence in teachers' journals. After the outbreak of the World War I, Swiss teachers reacted immediately to the new circumstances and published lessons in their weekly teacher journals for every day of school for different grade levels. These lessons comprised current events and civic education as well as didactical instructions for the teacher. In pupils' essays, citizens are often depicted as religious members of society who are industrious and hardworking, whereas in the journals, religious aspects are related to peace but not to citizenship education. As a multilingual and neutral country, Switzerland struggled with major domestic problems due to the cultural conflict between the French- and the German-speaking regions, especially during wartime. However, teachers promoted unity from the beginning. Therefore, changes and continuities during this decade concerning citizenship education are of crucial research interest. The practical sections of teachers' journals, including lessons and didactical instructions, and pupils' essays provide insight into what happened in the classrooms. Which forms of national identity and citizenship were taught in classrooms before, during and shortly after WW1 in public schools in Switzerland? How did pupils describe the current issues of war and citizenship?

El present estudi analitza una part de la bibliografia existent sobre els itineraris culturals, recollint les aportacions de major rellevncia i elaborant un model propi per a la elaboraci daquests. Fer notori el fet que safegeixen tamb nocions que orienten a la seva gesti i control. Tanmateix, es fa una proposta ditinerari basada en un personatge histric, Moss Ben Nahman, i el seu lligam amb les ciutats de Girona i Barcelona. Destacar la rellevncia de les temtiques tractades, ja que ambdues es troben presents en estudis i projectes en curs, esdevenint subjectes en perode dexpansi i anlisi

Turkey's accession to the European Union (EU) has become, over the years, one of the most contentious issues of European integration. On October 3rd 2005, the European Commission began negotiations for its accession, and, although they will probably not be completed within a decade, its objective is the full accession to the Union. Turkey's accession to the EU presents challenges for both parties, but especially for the European Union. There are very different challenges from the previous accessions, indeed. This work aims to analyze the challenges the EU will face towards Turkey's possible accession to the European Community. Therefore, this work has been divided into three sections. In the first of them, entitled "Brief history of a complex negotiation", the negotiation is briefly described. The second, "Aspects to take into account for Turkey's accession to the European Union", in which different relevant (geopolitical, economic and financial, demographic, cultural and religious) aspects of the possible a cession are discussed: aspects that will have an important impact in the development and performance of the European Community, once accession is fulfilled. The third and last section, "Turkey's incorporating challenges", discusses the challenges the EU will have to face with the potential accession of Turkey, specifically concerning four dimensions: institutional capacity, regional and cohesion policy, EU common security and foreign policy.

Abortion is a very controversial and stigmatized subject, target of many criticism and discussions, mainly regarding to the legal, bioethical and religious aspects involved. In Brazil, abortion is considered a serious public health problem, being the major cause of maternal death due to its criminalization. The woman who causes an abortion is not up looked by society, since motherhood, culturally and historically, was imposed as a destination. Our main goal is to understand, from the existential-phenomenological perspective, the unique experience of the woman who induced the abortion This study is an offshoot of a larger study from USP in partnership with UFRN. Our participants were women who checked in on a maternity hospital in Natal with a miscarriage diagnosis and, among them, those who reported having induced abortion. Altogether, five women were interviewed. The used method was a phenomenological hermeneutics. The research revealed that the experience of abortion is a possibility that permeates women s life, being understood as a choice. This choice pervaded by much suffering, once it goes against everything that women are culturally taught and meant to be. The feeling more surfacing in this experiment, confirming the literature review, was blame. Abortion was also shown as an experience of helplessness and loneliness, due to lack of support from family and the partner. It was also revealed that abortion was made, mainly, by the desire of going along with future projects, including the prosecute of motherhood in the therms of what they consider ideal to a son s arrival, meaning, a family formation grounded on a stable relationship. Regarding the care provided by health professionals to these women, there is the need of restructuring the operating logic of SUS, so that women have the right to health in a integrate manner. This experience also made women reconsider the meanings they had towards abortion, and their life projects

Ao inventariarmos as grandes celebraes da monarquia portuguesa, encontraremos algumas que so cerimoniais eminentemente religiosos. Dentre eles, h a procisso do Anjo da Guarda do Reino de Portugal (no terceiro domingo de julho), instituda no sculo XVI como celebrao da realeza, das quais toda a Corte participava e eram realizadas por todo o reino portugus. Tambm as aclamaes de Da. Maria I (1777) e D. Joo VI (1818) utilizam elementos de carter religioso (smbolos e idias). Estas celebraes colocam-nos a hiptese de uma srie de articulaes entre os procedimentos religiosos e o poder real. em funo do exame daquelas procisses e destes cerimoniais, procuramos esboar uma imagem do rei portugus: um rei-protetor, detentor de um poder de salvao.

Ce texte analyse le crmonial royal de la monarchie constitutionnelle brsilienne: le sacre et le couronnement de l'Empereur D. Pedro I. Notre examen de ce crmonial a comme point de dpart son caractre liturgique, pour comprendre pourquoi cet aspect a t considr essentiel alors pour affirmer l'autonomie du nouveau royaume et, en mme temps, a contribu pour dfinir le pouvoir politique de l'Empire du Brsil.
