The main goal of this work is analyze the way which the Natal City Prefecture was constructed as a place of subversion by those we call defenders of the order, in the period right after the outbreak of military coup in 1964. To reach it, the main resource of search was the Relatório Subversão no Rio Grande do Norte , document produced from the investigations realized in Natal City Prefecture as a result of the Commission of Inquiry s work, established by the governor Aluízio Alves to determine the subversion in Rio Grande do Norte s society. Based on the anti-comunist speech. That document introduces other image of the Prefecture, which activities developed by de second Djalma Maranhão administration (1961-1964), specially those developed in the educational area, as the campaign De Pé no Chão Também se Aprende a Ler , were considered subversive , communist , dangerous , threatening , names that served as backing to embed Natal City Prefecture in the general view about subversion existing in Rio Grande do Norte, according to the repression speech in this initial period of military regime. Militarising the body politic : new media as weapons of mass instruction

As militarization of bodies politic continues apace the world over, as military organizations again reveal themselves as primary political, economic and cultural forces in many societies, we argue that the emergent and potentially dominant form of political economic organization is a species of neo-feudal corporatism. Drawing upon Bourdieu, we theorize bodies politic as living habitus. Bodies politic are prepared for war and peace through new mediations, powerful means of public pedagogy. The process of militarization requires the generation of new, antagonistic evaluations of other bodies politic. Such evaluations are inculcated via these mediations, the movement of meanings across time and space, between formerly disparate histories, places, and cultures. New mediations touch new and different aspects of the body politic: its eyes, its ears, its organs, but they are consistently targeted at the formation of dispositions, the prime movers of action.

David Williamson's The Club : football politic, a dirty story

'Pues no entiendo tus palabras, / y tus bofetones siento': Linguistic Subversion in Lope de Vega's 'El perro del hortelano'

En los últimos años los críticos han dedicado mucha atención a la investigación de las voces conflictivas de la obra dramática de Lope de Vega. Se ha enfatizado en particular el papel subversivo de la lengua, sobre todo desde la perspectiva de la teoría de los actos de habla. Este artículo sobre El perro del hortelano opera dentro de un marco teórico similar para analizar cómo las retóricas poco estables del honor y del amor conducen a una desintegración de estos códigos artificiales linguísticos. Además, sugieren la presencia de una inestabilidad social colectiva más siniestra y más comprometida fuera del escenario. La ironía dramática, que sostiene el encubrimiento y la revelación de la 'verdad' a lo largo de la obra, lleva a un desenlace más liminal que cerrado y, quizás, permite la recuperación de unas voces significativas que penetren más allá del tiempo y la época en que fue escrita la obra.

Press, politic, and social order in Buenos Aires during the 1850s

The paper examines some reflections and discussions about the role and nature of the press that took place in Buenos Aires during the 1850s, referring to the difficulties involved in congenial freedom and order. This was caused by the fact that the press was considered a pillar of republican and civilized societies, but also an agent capable of corroding the social and political order.

Non-agrocultural co-peratives and economy transformation in Cuba: politic processes and strategies

Contribution of co-operatives has been demonstrated since the 1970s as the main development line in agricultural production in Cuba. In contrast, there has been a late recognition of urban co-operatives, even if the need of transformations based on the realization of property in different territorial scenarios had been identified. The article analyses the reform processes launched since the first decade of the 21st century focusing on the nature of the initiatives fostering formation and promotion of nonagricultural co-operatives including follow up of their performance. The potential and limitations of the recent experiences are examined in order to reflect on the organizational processes and transformations from the point of view of their members. To conclude, some questions are posed about whether these co-operatives are capable of avoiding the impact of earlier employment circumstances and of developing strategies aimed at reinforcing voluntary membership and autonomy on which they are founded.

‘Some Good Clean Fun’: Humour, Control and Subversion in an Advertising Agency

This article explores the relation between humour and control, drawing on participant observation in an organization in which humour was central to daily life. Keys is a leading advertising agency whose staff spent an unusually large amount of time sending humorous e-mails. Examining these e-mails in some depth, we unpack the role of humour in subverting various forms of control, including gender norms and managerial authority. We find the relation between humour, control and subversion to be ambiguous. Building upon current debates in organization studies, we develop the concept of humour based on our observations at Keys. Specifically, we argue that humour is always in excess of both control and subversion, a 'nicely impossible' object that cannot be captured. This article thus contributes to theoretical approaches on organizational humour, conceptualizing the concept of 'newness' through Judith Butler's re-reading of Derridean différance and the Lacanian Real. In addition, we contribute a novel empirical account of the study of e-mail list humour in a contemporary advertising firm. © 2012 Blackwell Publishing Ltd.

Histoire, littérature et subversion dans Le Bulletin des agriculteurs (1940-1959)

Le Bulletin des agriculteurs existe depuis 1918 et a eu une incidence considérable sur la population rurale du Québec.Le présent mémoire porte sur la subversion dans douze récits fantastiques publiés dans la revue entre 1940 et 1959. Ce mémoire est divisé en trois chapitres distincts.Le premier relate la petite histoire de la revue. À ses débuts, en 1918,Le Bulletin des agriculteurs est une revue purement agricole qui n'a d'autre but que celui d'informer ses abonnés. Mais dès 1936, la revue adopte le style revue et apporte à ses nombreux lecteurs, en plus de l'information générale, des chroniques féminines, des articles humoristiques et des récits de fiction. Ce sont ces derniers qui sont à l'origine de ce mémoire.Le deuxième chapitre insistera sur l'aspect théorique de l'étude. Dans un premier temps, nous avons fait la typologie de tous les récits de fiction parus dans la revue entre 1934 et 1984 les classant par genre et par sous-genre. Dans un deuxième temps, nous avons étudié le fantastique et son potentiel subversif. Enfin, dans un troisième temps, nous avons identifié l'idéologie qui prévalait au Québec rural dans les années quarante et cinquante.Le troisième chapitre est consacré exclusivement à la recherche de subversion dans les douze contes fantastiques sélectionnés afin d'en faire une lecture sociocritique.
