Common Themes in Multi-block Structured Quad/Hex Mesh Generation

The automatic generation of structured multi-block quadrilateral (quad) and hexahedral (hex) meshes has been researched for many years without definitive success. The core problem in quad / hex mesh generation is the placement of mesh singularities to give the desired mesh orientation and distribution [1]. It is argued herein that existing approaches (medial axis, paving / plastering, cross / frame fields) are actually alternative views of the same concept. Using the information provided by the different approaches provides additional insight into the problem.

Estudo sobre a influência do massará no processo de formação de salitre em rebocos na região de Teresina - PI

This work had to verify the influence of massará, while mortar component, in the process of formation of saltpeter in cementitious plaster walls of buildings. The massará is a ceramic material, texture areno usually found in large volumes argillaceous sediments in Teresina, Piaui State capital, which is associated with the Portland cement mortar form for fixing and finishing in construction. Saltpeter or flowering is a pathology that happens in gypsum wallboard, which invariably reaction between soluble salts present in materials, water and oxygen. This pathology, supposedly credited to massará caused its use to suffer significant reduction in the market of the buildings. Verify this situation with particular scientific rigor is part of the proposal of this work. Grading tests Were performed, consistency limits (LL, LP and IP), determination of potential hydrogen, capacity Exchange (CTC), electrical conductivity (EC), x-ray fluorescence (FRX) and x-ray diffraction (DRX). Massará analysed samples in number six, including sample plastering salitrado presented potential hydrogen medium 5.7 in water and 5.2 on KCl n and electrical conductivity (EC), equal to zero. These results pointed to the affirmative that massará is a material that does not provide salinity content that can be taken into consideration. It is therefore concluded that the material analyzed not competing, at least with respect to the presence of soluble salts, for the formation of saltpeter

Produtividade de cana soca sem queima em função do uso de gesso e vinhaça

A compreensão da influência da palhada de cana-de-açúcar sobre a dinâmica da aplicação de vinhaça e corretivos é essencial para o bom gerenciamento do sistema produtivo. O objetivo da realização deste trabalho foi avaliar os teores de nutrientes do solo, produtividade de colmos e a qualidade tecnológica da cana soca (2º ciclo), em função da aplicação de vinhaça e gesso, em Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo distrófico do noroeste paulista. O trabalho foi desenvolvido com a cultivar RB867515 e o delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições, em esquema fatorial 2x3, ou seja, com e sem gessagem (1,0 t ha-1) e aplicação de vinhaça em três doses: 0,0 m³ ha-1 (testemunha), 100,0 m³ ha-1 e 200,0 m³ ha-1. O uso de gesso incrementou os teores de Ca2+, Mg2+ e SO4(2-) e valores de pH e V%, bem como reduziu os teores de Al3+, nas camadas de 0-0,20 m e 0,20-0,40 m, e aumentou o teor de SO4(2-), na camada de 0,40-0,60 m, aos 180 e 360 dias, respectivamente. A gessagem e a aplicação de vinhaça não resultaram em aumento na produtividade de colmos, ou melhoria da qualidade tecnológica.

An advance of the study undertaken of the plastering of the few dwellings that still exist in the historical area of Maracaibo is presented, with a base of restoration mortar of the plastering of sandstone known as “piedra de ojo”. The mortars are made of lime with a ferruginous stone aggregate that gives them a pinkish color, with additions of ceramics, bamboo, sand, wood and straw, and kneaded with salty water from Lake Maracaibo
