The reconstruction of extended maxillary and mandibular defects with prefabricated free flaps is a two stage procedure, that allows immediate function with implant supported dentures. The appropriate delay between prefabrication and reconstruction depends on the interfacial strength of the bone–implant surface. The purpose of this animal study was to evaluate the removal torque of unloaded titanium implants in the fibula, the scapula and the iliac crest. Ninety implants with a sandblasted and acid-etched (SLA) surface were tested after healing periods of 3, 6, and 12 weeks, respectively. Removal torque values (RTV) were collected using a computerized counterclockwise torque driver. The bicortical anchored 8 mm implants in the fibula revealed values of 63.73 Ncm, 91.50 Ncm, and 101.83 Ncm at 3, 6, and 12 weeks, respectively. The monocortical anchorage in the iliac crest showed values of 71.40 Ncm, 63.14 Ncm, and 61.59 Ncm with 12 mm implants at the corresponding times. The monocortical anchorage in the scapula demonstrated mean RTV of 62.28 Ncm, 97.63 Ncm, and 99.7 Ncm with 12 mm implants at 3, 6, and 12 weeks, respectively. The study showed an increase of removal torque with increasing healing time. The interfacial strength for bicortical anchored 8 mm implants in the fibula was comparable to monocortical anchored 12 mm implants in the iliac crest and the scapula at the corresponding times. The resistance to shear seemed to be determined by the type of anchorage (monocortical vs. bicortical) and the length of the implant with greater amount of bone–implant interface.

由于科学的发展和社会的需要、探索新的半导体材料、开辟稀土化合物的新用途成了重大的研究课题。众所周知,Ⅲ_a-Ⅴ_a族化合物是已被广泛应用的重要半导体材料。而对于Ⅲ_b-Ⅴ_a族化合物是否是半导体还在探索中。人们对Ⅲ_b-Ⅴ_a族化合物的磁学光学、电学性质及热电性质做了大量的研究。但是,对其是否是半导体未能得出一致的结论。Sclar等人总结了求Ⅲ-Ⅴ族化合物带宽度的公式,预言稀土单氮族化合物是半导体;Yim等人测量了稀土磷化物的吸收光谱,由此证实了其半导体性;Hasegawa用Apw法计算了GdX (x = N、P、As、Sb)的能带,计算得出GdP的能带重迭,故他认为LnP是金属性材料;(Ln=稀土元素)。Guntherodt测量了GdP晶体介电常数与波长关系,由此得出GdP是高载流了浓度材料,他由此解释了GdP电阻率低的现象,但对其是否是半导体未做结论。大量的研究已证实了LnN是半导体,而对LnP却未能得出一致结论。本文以La、Nd、Sm、Y为代表研究了稀土磷化物的光学性质、电学性质和热电性质。由实验结果证实了稀土磷化物是N型半导体。稀土磷化物多晶粉末是用元素合成法制备的。合成LnP的最佳条件为:温度:950 ℃-1000 ℃;时间:10 ~ 36小时;真空度:3 * 10~(-5)笔。对制备后的LnP做了X-ray衍射分析,确定了LnP有氯化钠结构。其中,YP没有ASTM卡,我们参照其衍射图计算了它的晶面间距值,得出其晶格常数为a = 5.652A,计算的d_(nkL)值与实验值符合很好。通过实验证实了合成的LnP是单一化合物。在实验中测量了LnP薄膜的吸收光谱并将其与GaAs的吸收光谱做了比较,证实了稀土磷化物是直接跃迁型材料。同时也求出了LnP的禁带宽度值。其中,NdP、LaP、YP的禁带宽度值是首次得到,文献中未见有报导。从La到Y随着晶格常数变小,禁带宽度值亦减小,该实验结果与Sclar用经验式计算的结果是一致的。在实验中还利用热探针、霍尔系数和热电菌率系数测量了LnP的导电类型,结果表明它们是N型半导体。用四探针测量了它们的电阻率为~10~(-3)ncm。并研究了它们的电阻与温度关系,发现LnP具有半导体的重要特征-电阻的负湿度系数。同时,从电阻与温度关系求出了LnP的激活能、该值较小,说明LnP中存在浅施主能级,我们分析是由于磷缺位在LnP形成正电中心而引入的。所测量的LnP的热电功率系数为近百μv/℃。也以热电功率系数与温度的关系求得了LnP的激活能,这与从电阻与湿度关系所得的激活能值是相符的。这证实了我们对LnP存在浅施主能级所做的判断。本文还对上述试验结果做了简要分析讨论。提出了LnP的能带图。我们认为:稀土磷化物是直接跃迁型的N型半导体。

本文用X射线衍射方法研究了PrP_5O_(14)的晶体结构和铁弹相变。晶体空间群为P2_1/c,晶胞参数a=8.777(1)A,b=9.029(2)A,c=13.068(2)A,β=90.35°(1),z=4,最终R值为0.046。在130±5℃转变成正交晶系,空间群为P_(ncm),a=8.813(7)A,b=9.075(2)A,c=13.119(10)A。高温相变使晶体产生了铁弹性孪晶,室温下晶体属mmmF2/m类铁弹体。

BACKGROUND: The HIV/AIDS epidemic is a significant public health concern in North Carolina, and previous research has pointed to elevated mental health distress and substance use among HIV-infected populations, which may impact patients' adherence to medications. The aims of this study were to describe the prevalence of mental health and substance use issues among patients of a North Carolina HIV clinic, to examine differences by demographic characteristics, and to examine factors associated with suboptimal adherence to HIV medications. METHODS: This study was a secondary analysis of clinical data routinely collected through a health behavior questionnaire at a large HIV clinic in North Carolina. We analyzed data collected from February 2011 to August 2012. RESULTS: The sample included 1,398 patients. Overall, 12.2% of patients endorsed current symptomology indicative of moderate or severe levels of depression, and 38.6% reported receiving a psychiatric diagnosis at some point in their life. Additionally, 19.1% had indications of current problematic drinking, and 8.2% reported problematic drug use. Nearly one-quarter (22.1%) reported suboptimal adherence to HIV medications. Factors associated with poor adherence included racial/ethnic minority, age less than 35 years, and indications of moderate or severe depression. LIMITATIONS: The questionnaire was not completed systematically in the clinic, which may limit generalizability, and self-reported measures may have introduced social desirability bias. CONCLUSION: Patients were willing to disclose mental health distress, substance use, and suboptimal medication adherence to providers, which highlights the importance of routinely assessing these behaviors during clinic visits. Our findings suggest that treating depression may be an effective strategy to improve adherence to HIV medications.

De récentes découvertes montrent le rôle important que joue l’acide ribonucléique (ARN) au sein des cellules, que ce soit le contrôle de l’expression génétique, la régulation de plusieurs processus homéostasiques, en plus de la transcription et la traduction de l’acide désoxyribonucléique (ADN) en protéine. Si l’on veut comprendre comment la cellule fonctionne, nous devons d’abords comprendre ses composantes et comment ils interagissent, et en particulier chez l’ARN. La fonction d’une molécule est tributaire de sa structure tridimensionnelle (3D). Or, déterminer expérimentalement la structure 3D d’un ARN s’avère fort coûteux. Les méthodes courantes de prédiction par ordinateur de la structure d’un ARN ne tiennent compte que des appariements classiques ou canoniques, similaires à ceux de la fameuse structure en double-hélice de l’ADN. Ici, nous avons amélioré la prédiction de structures d’ARN en tenant compte de tous les types possibles d’appariements, dont ceux dits non-canoniques. Cela est rendu possible dans le contexte d’un nouveau paradigme pour le repliement des ARN, basé sur les motifs cycliques de nucléotides ; des blocs de bases pour la construction des ARN. De plus, nous avons dévelopées de nouvelles métriques pour quantifier la précision des méthodes de prédiction des structures 3D des ARN, vue l’introduction récente de plusieurs de ces méthodes. Enfin, nous avons évalué le pouvoir prédictif des nouvelles techniques de sondage de basse résolution des structures d’ARN.

Des évidences expérimentales récentes indiquent que les ARN changent de structures au fil du temps, parfois très rapidement, et que ces changements sont nécessaires à leurs activités biochimiques. La structure de ces ARN est donc dynamique. Ces mêmes évidences notent également que les structures clés impliquées sont prédites par le logiciel de prédiction de structure secondaire MC-Fold. En comparant les prédictions de structures du logiciel MC-Fold, nous avons constaté un lien clair entre les structures presque optimales (en termes de stabilité prédites par ce logiciel) et les variations d’activités biochimiques conséquentes à des changements ponctuels dans la séquence. Nous avons comparé les séquences d’ARN du point de vue de leurs structures dynamiques afin d’investiguer la similarité de leurs fonctions biologiques. Ceci a nécessité une accélération notable du logiciel MC-Fold. L’approche algorithmique est décrite au chapitre 1. Au chapitre 2 nous classons les impacts de légères variations de séquences des microARN sur la fonction naturelle de ceux-ci. Au chapitre 3 nous identifions des fenêtres dans de longs ARN dont les structures dynamiques occupent possiblement des rôles dans les désordres du spectre autistique et dans la polarisation des œufs de certains batraciens (Xenopus spp.).

P>This study aimed to verify the effect of modified section method and laser-welding on the accuracy of fit of ill-fitting commercially pure titanium (cp Ti) and Ni-Cr alloy one-piece cast frameworks. Two sets of similar implant-supported frameworks were constructed. Both groups of six 3-unit implant-supported fixed partial dentures were cast as one-piece [I: Ni-Cr (control) and II: cp Ti] and evaluated for passive fitting in an optical microscope with both screws tightened and with only one screw tightened. All frameworks were then sectioned in the diagonal axis at the pontic region (III: Ni-Cr and IV: cp Ti). Sectioned frameworks were positioned in the matrix (10-Ncm torque) and laser-welded. Passive fitting was evaluated for the second time. Data were submitted to anova and Tukey-Kramer honestly significant difference tests (P < 0 center dot 05). With both screws tightened, one-piece cp Ti group II showed significantly higher misfit values (27 center dot 57 +/- 5 center dot 06 mu m) than other groups (I: 11 center dot 19 +/- 2 center dot 54 mu m, III: 12 center dot 88 +/- 2 center dot 93 mu m, IV: 13 center dot 77 +/- 1 center dot 51 mu m) (P < 0 center dot 05). In the single-screw-tightened test, with readings on the opposite side to the tightened side, Ni-Cr cast as one-piece (I: 58 center dot 66 +/- 14 center dot 30 mu m) was significantly different from cp Ti group after diagonal section (IV: 27 center dot 51 +/- 8 center dot 28 mu m) (P < 0 center dot 05). On the tightened side, no significant differences were found between groups (P > 0 center dot 05). Results showed that diagonally sectioning ill-fitting cp Ti frameworks lowers misfit levels of prosthetic implant-supported frameworks and also improves passivity levels of the same frameworks when compared to one-piece cast structures.
O desafio da formação do policial militar do estado do Rio de Janeiro: utopia ou realidade possível?

This work of research treats of the police military formation in the state of the Rio de Janeiro. The academic approach to be adopted in respect to verify the state actions for the adaptation of the course of the soldier¿s formation to the national curriculum mould (NCM) for the police education, proposed by the National General Office of Public Security in the year of 2000. It¿s part of a group of actions of the federal government to format the police education in all country. The aim of this action is to form policemen to act in an appropriate way in a democratic society. The result of the research revealed that the Military Police of the state of the Rio de Janeiro, did not effect actions for the adoption the of NCM in the period of 2000-2005, as well as it¿s not preparing the militaries polices to act with base in the values of a democratic society. The empirical material show us the view the of the military police in relation to the education in the Military Police, as well as its performance day by day in the resolution of the social conflicts.

Este trabalho de pesquisa trata da formação profissional do oficial policial militar no Estado do Amazonas. Trata-se da 1ª turma do Curso de Bacharelado em Segurança Pública e do Cidadão Curso de Formação de Oficiais (CFO), iniciado em agosto de 2002 e concluído em março de 2005. A abordagem acadêmica foi adotada no sentido de se verificar a adaptação do Curso à Matriz Curricular Nacional (MCN) para o ensino policial, versada nas Bases Curriculares para a Formação dos Profissionais da Área de Segurança do Cidadão, apresentada pelo Ministério da Justiça, através da Secretaria Nacional de Segurança Pública (SENASP) em 2000. A Matriz Curricular Nacional integra um conjunto de ações do Governo Federal para balizar o ensino policial, buscando assim, capacitar os oficiais para atuar de maneira adequada em uma sociedade democrática. O conteúdo empírico do trabalho revela o dimensionamento da formação do oficial policial militar consubstanciado pelo ensino, pesquisa e extensão, realizado em parceria entre a Polícia Militar do Estado do Amazonas e a Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, no cenário em que desempenhará suas funções para dirimir os conflitos da ordem pública.

Esta tese se propõe a discutir o fenômeno da “nova classe média” brasileira, por meio de um estudo empírico-qualitativo, dentro da área de estudos organizacionais. O ponto de partida do estudo se constitui na seguinte problematização: como o crescimento econômico brasileiro, ocorrido ao longo da última década, impactou as trajetórias e condições de vida de trabalhadores de baixa renda? O objetivo central é investigar quais mudanças ocorreram nas trajetórias de jovens de baixa renda que migraram, ao longo da última década, para a dita “nova classe média” brasileira. A abordagem metodológica é empírico-qualitativa e se constitui de uma estratégia de pesquisa principal: reconstrução de biografias narrativas por meio de entrevistas. Contamos com a participação de 42 jovens trabalhadores dentro do recorte pretendido. Os dados empíricos foram interpretados com o auxílio da técnica de análise de conteúdo. A lente teórica da pesquisa é interdisciplinar e privilegiou as contribuições das áreas da Sociologia crítica, econômica e do trabalho, bem como as dos Estudos organizacionais. Os resultados indicaram que as trajetórias dos jovens trabalhadores resguardam mudanças e permanências. Por mais que suas vidas estejam melhores que no passado, os jovens trabalhadores não ascenderam a um estilo de vida típico da classe média convencional, seja pelo fato deles: ainda residirem em zonas periféricas; dependerem dos serviços públicos de transporte e saúde; e realizarem atividades culturais/de lazer similares as que empreendiam no passado. Isto requer entender que as trajetórias dos jovens trabalhadores se passam dentro de uma experiência objetiva de vida coletiva cuja identificação, entre os que nela estão inseridos, emerge das vivências cotidianas e anseios comuns que esses indivíduos possuem para si. Por essa razão, concluímos que a ideia de uma NCM simboliza apenas o desejo de seus idealizadores em apontar a conquista de uma realidade social almejada para o Brasil, e não propriamente a consolidação dessa realidade na vida dos trabalhadores mais pobres. É nesse sentido, que a NCM representa, muito mais, o realizar da ilusão de seus idealizadores, do que a constatação empírica de que as melhoras, em termos de renda e poder de consumo, foram capazes, por si só, de transformar o Brasil em um país de classe média.

The aim of this study was to compare the misfit vertical, horizontal and passivity of zirconia and cobalt-chromium frameworks fabricated for CAD / CAM technology and conventional method of casting. Sixteen frameworks in one-piece, were obtained from a metallic matrix containing three Brånemark compatible implants with regular platform (Titamax Cortical Ti, Neodent). Eight frameworks were fabricated by CAD / CAM system (NeoShape, Neodent): four in zirconia (ZirCAD) and four cobalt-chromium (CoCrcad). Eight other frameworks were obtained by conventional casting method: four cobalt-chromium with UCLA abutment premachined Co-Cr (CoCrUCci) and four cobalt-chromium with UCLA abutment castable (CoCrUCc). The fit vertical, horizontal and passivity by one-screw test were measured using scanning electron microscopy with magnification of 250x. Initially evaluated the passivity by one-screw test and subsequently to assess the vertical and horizontal misfit, tightened all the screws with a torque of 20 Ncm. Mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values were calculated for each group. Measurements of horizontal misfit were transformed into cumulative frequency for categorization of the variable and the group later comparison groups. To evaluate the existence of quantitative differences between the groups tested for vertical misfit and passivity, we used the Kruskal-Wallis test. The Mann-Whitney test was used to compare group to group statistical differences (p <0.05). Were observed the respective mean and standard deviation for vertical misfit and passivity in micrometers: ZirCAD (5.9 ± 3.6, 107.2 ± 36), CoCrcad (1.2 ± 2.2, 107.5 ± 26 ), CoCrUCci (11.8 ± 9.8, 124.7 ± 74), CoCrUCc (12.9 ± 11.0, 108.8 ± 85). There were statistical differences in measures of vertical misfit (p = 0.000). The Mann-Whitney test revealed statistical differences (p <0.05) between all groups except between CoCrUCci and CoCrUCc (p = 0.619). No statistical difference was observed for the passivity. In relation to the horizontal misfit groups ZirCAD and CoCrcad did not show best values in relation to CoCrUCci and CoCrUCc. Based on the results it can be concluded that frameworks fabricated by CAD / CAM technology had better values of vertical fit than those manufactured by the casting method, nevertheless, the passivity was not influenced by manufacturing technique and material used. The horizontal fit obtained by frameworks manufactured by CAD / CAM was not superior to those manufactured by casting. A lower variability in vertical adjustment and passivity was observed when frameworks were fabricated by CAD / CAM technology
