TTCN testing of WCDMA base station operation and maintenance software

TTCN-kieltä käytetään testitapausten määrittelemiseen tietoliikennejärjestelmissä. Nykyään TTCN:stä on tullut yhä suositumpi tapa toteuttaa testitapauksia. TTCN tarjoaa hyvän ja yksinkertaisen tavan muuntaa käsin testattavat testitapaukset automatisoiduiksi. Tämän diplomityön yhteydessä toteutettiin TTCN testitapaukset WCDMA -tukiaseman käyttö- ja kunnossapito- (O&M) ohjelmistolle. Ohjelmistoa on käytetty myös toisen sukupolven tukiasemissa, mutta kolmannen sukupolven tukiasemissa sillä on huomattavasti isompi rooli. WCDMA -tukiasemassa O&M käsittelee muun muassa tukiaseman käynnistyksen, virhetilanteet ja valvoo tukiaseman komponentteja. Ensimmäisiä tehtäviä diplomityötä tehdessä oli valita ne testitapaukset, jotka olisivat mahdollisia ja hyödyllisiä toteuttaa TTCN:n avulla. Testitapaukset valittiin valmiina olleista testitapausten kuvauksista. Valitut testitapaukset toteutettiin käyttäen rinnakkaista ja modulaarista TTCN-kieltä ja testattiin WCDMA -tukiasemaa vasten käyttäen TTCN Tester ohjelmistoa. Tämän diplomityön yhteydessä toteutettuja testitapauksia käytetään varmistamaan, että tukiasema voi toipua erilaisista virhetilanteista O&M ohjelmiston avulla. Testitapauksia WCDMA -tukiasemaa vasten ajettaessa varmistetaan myös, että O&M ohjelmisto toimii määrittelyn mukaisesti eri tilanteissa. Toteutetut testi tapaukset korvaavat nykyään käsin testatut O&M testi tapaukset tukiaseman O&M ohjelmistoa testatessa. Automatisoidut testi tapaukset tekevät O&M ohjelmiston testaamisen merkittävästi nopeammaksi ja helpommaksi.

Operation and Maintenance Security Service for OSS-RC networks

Security issues in telecommunication networks have become more important due to the development of the industry. The number of network elements and services has increased in the radio network as in the core network side, which has increased the number of security related issues. Ericsson has developed an OSS-RC product for operation and maintenance porpoises into the telecommunication networks. OSS-RC is used in a number of telecommunications operators, which have Ericsson's products used in their telecommunication networks. Ericsson provides product installation and maintenance support and guidance, but despite this, the product may have security related issues, either due to lack of following the instructions, human error or defect in the product itself or in a third party products attached. Ericsson’s Operation and Maintenance Security Service for OSS-RC networks aims to provide tools for checking the security level of the O&M product so that it meets all requirements and Ericsson’s own security related rules. Each customer has a unique telecommunications network structure and services, and so the security service has to be to create individually depending on the customer. The purpose of this thesis is to define the basic instructions for creating the security service for different customers.

EDSS-maintenance prototype: an environmental decision support system to assess the definition of operation and maintenance protocols for horizontal subsurface constructed wetlands

Els Sistemes d'Aiguamolls Construïts (SAC) de Flux Subsuperficial Horitzontal (FSH) és una tecnologia apropiada pel sanejament d'aigües residuals procedents de nuclis de població petits. No obstant els SAC de FSH són considerats una tecnologia natural, l'operació i manteniment d'aquestes depuradores és crucial per a garantir el seu correcte funcionament. Aquestes necessitats d'operació i manteniment varien entre depuradores segons (1) les característiques de la comunitat, (2) la configuració de la depuradora i el disseny del SAC de FSH i (3) les característiques del medi receptor. En aquest sentit, en aquesta tesi es presenta el desenvolupament d'un Sistema d'Ajuda a la Decisió (SAD) per a la definició de protocols d'operació i manteniment per a SAC de FSH tenint en compte els factors que causen variabilitat entre aquest tipus de depuradores (1, 2 i 3).
