Diante da recorrência da criação de personagens-escritores nas obras brasileiras de ficção publicadas a partir dos anos 1990, foi escolhida a produção de Daniel Galera como estudo de caso. O personagem-escritor foi observado como estratégia para discutir questões relativas à cena literária contemporânea. Foi delimitado como corpus dessa pesquisa o blog criado durante a estada de Daniel Galera em Buenos Aires, ao participar do projeto Amores Expressos, e o romance Cordilheira (2008), escrito como fruto dessa experiência. Tendo em vista a trajetória de sua carreira em constante relação com a internet, foi analisada a construção do escritor-personagem no blog hospedado no site do projeto, em contraponto à figura do personagem-escritor no romance. Para tanto, foram utilizados textos sobre a autoficção, a performance e a autoria. Na comparação dos textos de ambos os suportes, foram evidenciadas semelhanças e diferenças nas problematizações a respeito da formação do autor. Foi investigada a inserção de trechos do blog no romance como estratégia que oferece complexidade nos espelhamentos das imagens e enriquece os efeitos de leitura do romance

Este estudio se realizó con el objetivo de determinar la degradabilidad in vivo del Teocinte (Zea nicaraguensis Iltis & Benz). El ensayo de degradabilidad fue realizado en la galera experimental de la Facultad de Ciencia Animal adscrita a la Universidad Nacional Agraria. En este ensayo se utilizaron dos vacas de raza Reyna, secas y vacías, con fistulas ruminales. Los tiempos de incubación (0, 0.5, 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 48, 72, 96 horas) fueron considerados los tratamientos (11) por 4 réplicas por cada tiempo. Las variables evaluadas fueron: degradación de materia seca (DMS) y degradación de materia orgánica (DMO). Para la determinación de las variables, se utilizó el modelo exponencial descrito por Orskov and McDonald (1979). Como resultados finales de la Degradabilidad de la MS se obtuvo una fracción soluble de 2.44% (a), fracción insoluble pero potencialmente degradable del 23.35% (b), una tasa de degradación de la fracción potencialmente degradada estimada del 2.61%* horas (c) y la fracción no degradable [100-(2.44 + 23.35)] del 74.05%. En la Degradabilidad de la MO la fracción soluble fue de 2.43% (a), la fracción insoluble pero potencialmente degradable de 23.35% (b), una tasa de degradación de la fracción potencialmente degradada estimada de 2.61%* horas y la fracción no degradable [100-(2.43 + 23.35)] de 74.22%. El Teocinte en la edad de corte utilizada en este experimento no tiene valores de degradabilidad compatibles con sistemas de producción animal de alta intensidad por lo que se sugiere seguir investigando en su potencialidad.

The Marine Mammal Tagging Office has been created by consensus of the agencies responsible for marine mammal management and the scientific community dealing with marine mammal tagging and marking. The purpose of ths office is to facilitate the dissemination of information with regard to tagging, marking, tags, and marks; to determine the need for new and better materials for tags; and to stimulate research, development, and testing programs. The American Institute of Biological Sciences was requested to coordinate a workshop to determine the status of pinniped tagging both nationally and internationally. Approximately 30 scientists were invited to participate in the workshop which was held on 18-19 January 1979 at the Sand Point Laboratory of the National Marine Fisheries Service in Seattle, Washington. Topics included ranged from specific tagging programs to general considerations and similar problems encountered by researchers. Participants also participated in one of three working groups -- Sea Otters, Phocids, and Otariids --to address pertinent issues. First record of the cascudo, Loricariichthys platymetopon Isbrucker and Nijssen, 1979 in Canoas II Reservoir (Middle Paranapanema River, border of the states of São Paulo and Parana, Brazil). Its occurrence is due to the flooding of Sete Quedas waterfall, as a result of the construction of Itaipu Reservoir. Furthermore, there is absence or low abundance of natural predators, like Salminus brasiliensis, since this species has difficulties to adapt or even survive in reservoirs.

The increase in global mean temperatures resulting from climate change has wide reaching consequences for the earth's ecosystems and other natural systems. Many studies have been devoted to evaluating the distribution and effects of these changes. We go a step further and evaluate global changes to the heat index, a measure of temperature as perceived by humans. Heat index, which is computed from temperature and relative humidity, is more important than temperature for the health of humans and other animals. Even in cases where the heat index does not reach dangerous levels from a health perspective, it has been shown to be an important factor in worker productivity and thus in economic productivity. We compute heat index from dewpoint temperature and absolute temperature 2 m above ground from the ERA-Interim reanalysis dataset for the years 1979-2013. The data is provided aggregated to daily minima, means and maxima. Furthermore, the data is temporally aggregated to monthly and yearly values and spatially aggregated to the level of countries after being weighted by population density in order to demonstrate its usefulness for the analysis of its impact on human health and productivity. The resulting data deliver insights into the spatiotemporal development of near-ground heat index during the course of the past 3 decades. It is shown that the impact of changing heat index is unevenly distributed through space and time, affecting some areas differently than others. The likelihood of dangerous heat index events has increased globally. Also, heat index climate groups that would formerly be expected closer to the tropics have spread latitudinally to include areas closer to the poles. The data can serve in future studies as a basis for evaluating and understanding the evolution of heat index in the course of climate change, as well as its impact on human health and productivity.
