This research analyzes the 53 best university entrance exams essays of 2010 of FUVEST - University Foundation for University Entrance Exams, which were published on the institution website, indicating that they were considered the best in the exam. The objective of the analysis was to identify similarities and differences between the essays, based on dialogic approach. We analyzed aspects such as: the way students addressed the subject, the language and organization of writing; the different ways of argumentation; the most used quotes; dissertation structure and the way the students considered the discourse genre writing. The study also compared the essays based on the way in which the genre is addressed in schools and pre-university preparatory courses, which gave us parameters to evaluate the extent to which this teaching can help students or otherwise confuse them. Through the analysis, we can deduce what the institution values, which helps to demystify some of the so-called known “recipes” for good writing

o presente trabalho teve como objetivo estudar a influência que o ambiente sócio-econômico poderia exercer sob re as chances do candidato no vestibular e sobre o êxito acadêmico do universitário. Para tanto re alizaram-se duas pesquisas: uma com os candidatos do vestibular unificado da Fundação CESGRANRIO. do Rio de Ja neira, de 1975: outra, com uma amostra de universitários classificados p~ 10 mesmo vest i bular. O pri meiro estudo abrangeu 75.348 candidatos e o segundo 1.608 universitários, de sete instituições e nove carreiras diferentes. Uti lizou-se como instrumentos de pesquisa: um I questionário de informação sócio-cultural. o total de pontos obtidos pelos candidatos no vestibular e a méd ia das notas obtidas no curso superior p~ lo estudante, nos deis primeiros semestres de 1975. A anãlise dos resultados permitiu concluir o se guinte: - Tiveram maior chance de classificação no vest i bular os candidatos que: cursaram o clássico; f reqüentaram tanto escola / particu lar como oficial; cursaram o período diurno, obtiveram concei to "E~ ce lente" no 2? grau; não trabalhavam; possuíam pai com nível de ins trução superior e renda mensal familiar acima de 8.000 cruzei ros. - Exercem influência na classificação do vestibu lar os seguintes indicadores do amb iente sócio-econôm ico: renda mensal fa miliar, nível de instrução e profissão do pai. ativ idade ocupac ional do / candidato e período da escola de 2? grau. Obtiveram bom rendimento na universidade os estudantes que: freqüentaram o período diurno; obtiveram bom rendimento no 2? grau; não exerciam atividade ocupac ional: possuiam pais com profissão / liberal e renda familiar alta. - São os segu intes os indicadores do ambiente sac io-econôm ico do univers i tário que têm valor preditivo no êxito acadêmico: período da escola de 2? grau, at ividade ocupacional. profissão do pai. ren dimento escolar no 2~ grau e renda mensal fami l iar. Vale assinalar que esses resultados se referem aos candidatos do vestibular unificado da Fundação CESGRANRIO.

This paper attempts to quantify the occurrences of verb agreement, as well as evaluative repercussions on a sample of one hundred and eight essays compiled by candidates entering the São Paulo State University- UNESP in 2006 through an annual entrance exam conducted by the Foundation and applied for Vestibular the Unesp - VUNESP in November 2005. Our reflections are observing about the possible relationships between the performances obtained in newsrooms observed (high, medium and low) and precepts found in the rules established by normative grammars. Our study is based on theoretical and methodological framework of variationist sociolinguistics and search through the quantification of data, discuss the factors that influence verb agreement in the corpus analyzed. Our results show not only a high index of cases of verbal agreement (standard variant) in the three types of essays analyzed, as well as cases of overcorrection that may be explained by the misapplication of the rules of agreement

This work has as a central concern in analyze the causes of the still limited access of young Brazilians to public higher education in socioeconomic and cultural.In Brazil, onçy 14,4% of the young between 18 and 24 years old attend this educational level.If we consider that the public university offer just 1/4 of the vacancies, can be affirmed that this institutions are not able to attend neither 4% of the young between 18 and 24.Brazil shows,in this level of education,a lower access that most of its neighbors: Argentina(40%), Venezuela(26%), Chile(20%),Bolivia(20%).In this work were analyzed the data reports of entrance exam of Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) entre 2004 e 2009,prepared by Fundaçao para o Vestibular da Universidade Estadual Paulista(Vunesp). In this analysis,can be noted the influence of some aspects socioeconomic and cultural related to possibilities os the young acces to public univercity. Stand out among these: family income,the possibility to dadicate only to studies and attend preparatory courses,as well as the parents level of education.

An acoustic neuroma (also known as a vestibular schwannoma) is an intracranial tumour of the vestibular nerve that is commonly treated by surgical resection. Following resection of an acoustic neuroma, patients may experience a range of symptoms that include deficits in gaze stability, mobility and balance. Vestibular rehabilitation may be useful in reducing the severity and minimizing the impact of these symptoms.

Objectives: To evaluate the applicability of visual feedback posturography (VFP) for quantification of postural control, and to characterize the horizontal angular vestibulo-ocular reflex (AVOR) by use of a novel motorized head impulse test (MHIT). Methods: In VFP, subjects standing on a platform were instructed to move their center of gravity to symmetrically placed peripheral targets as fast and accurately as possible. The active postural control movements were measured in healthy subjects (n = 23), and in patients with vestibular schwannoma (VS) before surgery (n = 49), one month (n = 17), and three months (n = 36) after surgery. In MHIT we recorded head and eye position during motorized head impulses (mean velocity of 170º/s and acceleration of 1 550º/s²) in healthy subjects (n = 22), in patients with VS before surgery (n = 38) and about four months afterwards (n = 27). The gain, asymmetry and latency in MHIT were calculated. Results: The intraclass correlation coefficient for VFP parameters during repeated tests was significant (r = 0.78-0.96; p < 0.01), although two of four VFP parameters improved slightly during five test sessions in controls. At least one VFP parameter was abnormal pre- and postoperatively in almost half the patients, and these abnormal preoperative VFP results correlated significantly with abnormal postoperative results. The mean accuracy in postural control in patients was reduced pre- and postoperatively. A significant side difference with VFP was evident in 10% of patients. In the MHIT, the normal gain was close to unity, the asymmetry in gain was within 10%, and the latency was a mean ± standard deviation 3.4 ± 6.3 milliseconds. Ipsilateral gain or asymmetry in gain was preoperatively abnormal in 71% of patients, whereas it was abnormal in every patient after surgery. Preoperative gain (mean ± 95% confidence interval) was significantly lowered to 0.83 ± 0.08 on the ipsilateral side compared to 0.98 ± 0.06 on the contralateral side. The ipsilateral postoperative mean gain of 0.53 ± 0.05 was significantly different from preoperative gain. Conclusion: The VFP is a repeatable, quantitative method to assess active postural control within individual subjects. The mean postural control in patients with VS was disturbed before and after surgery, although not severely. Side difference in postural control in the VFP was rare. The horizontal AVOR results in healthy subjects and in patients with VS, measured with MHIT, were in agreement with published data achieved using other techniques with head impulse stimuli. The MHIT is a non-invasive method which allows reliable clinical assessment of the horizontal AVOR.

Desde el enfoque psicológico denominado “Cognición Distribuida” es posible postular tres formas de distribución de la cognición en el interior de los sistemas de actividad: física, sociocomunicacional y simbólico-instrumental. Esta comunicación aborda la configuración de dichos sistemas, en función de las prácticas institucionales prevalecientes en la Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR), Argentina. Se postula que dichas prácticas institucionales varían según el tipo de conocimiento que se vehiculiza en la acción enseñante: social y no social. La investigación consistió en la observación naturalista de 28 clases universitarias pertenecientes a tres carreras sociales y tres carreras exactas-naturales (14 clases por tipo epistémico de carrera). La observación estuvo focalizada en los tres sistemas de distribución de la cognición. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren una relación de sentido entre los mencionados tipos epistémico-institucionales y la configuración de los sistemas físico y simbólico.

Resumen: Un niño con anencefalia, debido a su innegable condición humana, merece ser tratado con respeto y dignidad, como cualquier otro hombre. Por su severa patología y su corta expectativa de vida, es una criatura frágil e indefensa a la que hay que cuidar, y no por ello aplicar tratamiento, hasta que devenga su inevitable muerte. La futilidad de cualquier medida agresiva sustenta la necesidad de proporcionarle calor y cuidados básicos, sin incurrir en tratamientos desproporcionados. Al mismo tiempo, resulta fundamental informar, acompañar y brindar apoyo médico y psicológico a toda la familia, en especial a la madre, para poder superar la muerte del niño. Por último, es preciso establecer que el pronóstico ominoso de una criatura anencefálica jamás justifica el aborto. A partir del estudio de la bibliografía argentina sobre el tema, y desde la perspectiva de un estudiante de medicina, se analizan los textos publicados, añadiendo algunos comentarios éticos actuales sobre los problemas de la anencefalia.

[Es] Este estudio analiza la opinión de los alumnos de diferentes licenciaturas sobre la utilidad didáctica de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TICs) en la universidad. Se utilizaron páginas web y el correo electrónico para facilitar diferentes herramientas educativas (guiones docentes, artículos, páginas web, trabajos prácticos y bibliografía). Los análisis univariante y multivariante de los datos obtenidos de las encuestas realizadas a los estudiantes al inicio y final de la asignatura, demuestran que, con independencia de la titulación, el 64% del alumnado considera que la utilización de las TICs mejora la comunicación alumno – profesor, e incrementa la motivación y la participación activa del estudiante.

[ES] El proceso de Bolonia ha remarcado una perspectiva institucional en la preocupación por la gestión de la calidad del servicio prestado en las universidades y otras instituciones de enseñanza superior. La calidad del servicio en la educación superior no se centra exclusivamente en el proceso de enseñanza- aprendizaje y en la relación entre docente y discente, sino que debe estar también garantizada en el servicio prestado por las bibliotecas universitarias, los servicios de acción social, los servicios académicos y las secretarías departamentales.
