Seven pages of proceedings of the Senate and Assembly of the State of New York dated February 27, March 1 and March 6, 1823. Proceedings include a report of the Committee of the Canal System , Memorial of Samuel Wilkeson on the subject of Black Rock and Buffalo Harbors, a report from the Surveyor General of the land reserved to the state at Black Rock, and an Act to incorporate the Niagara Canal Company.

The National Constituent Assembly of Tunisia and Civil Society Dynamics. EUSpring Working Paper No. 2, 8 July 2015

The Tunisian constitution of 27 January 2014 was deemed essentially compatible with international human rights principles and standards. These were adopted at the outcome of a dual process, which was underway both inside the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) and outside it, between the NCA and civil society stakeholders. Three successive drafts fell considerably short of expectations (6 August 2012, 14 December 2012 and 22 April 2013). The fourth draft (1 June 2013) was still fraught with 20 or so fundamental divergences. These were resolved, thanks to the National Dialogue in cooperation with the ad hoc “consensus commission” (lajnet tawafuqat) within the NCA, which is chaired by Mustapha Ben Jaafar (President of the NCA). The final text was overwhelmingly adopted on 26 January 2014 by 200 votes, with 12 against and four abstentions. It was promulgated on 10 February.

Synthesis and supramolecular assembly of the bifunctional borinic acid 1,2-fcB(OH)](2)

Treatment of the chloro-substituted diboradiferrocene derivative 1 with Me3SiOMe and subsequent hydrolysis resulted in formation of the novel organometallic bis(borinic acid) derivative 3. The assembly of 3 into supramolecular structures via hydrogen bonding and reversible covalent boron-oxygen bond formation was explored. Upon crystallization from acetone or THF one-dimensional chains form in which molecules of 3 alternately serve as hydrogen bond donors and acceptors. The additional OH hydrogens that are not involved in hydrogen bonding within the polymeric chains undergo hydrogen bonding to the solvent molecules. Removal of the solvent was achieved at moderate temperature under high vacuum. While the polymeric chains remain intact, in the absence of the solvent as a hydrogen bond acceptor, short contacts to the Cp rings of neighboring polymer strands lead to a network-like structure. At higher temperatures, further dehydration occurs with formation of B-O-B linkages as confirmed by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Oligomers with up to 15 repeating units (30 ferrocenes) were detected.

The sequence and de novo assembly of the giant panda genome

Using next-generation sequencing technology alone, we have successfully generated and assembled a draft sequence of the giant panda genome. The assembled contigs (2.25 gigabases (Gb)) cover approximately 94% of the whole genome, and the remaining gaps (0.05 Gb) seem to contain carnivore-specific repeats and tandem repeats. Comparisons with the dog and human showed that the panda genome has a lower divergence rate. The assessment of panda genes potentially underlying some of its unique traits indicated that its bamboo diet might be more dependent on its gut microbiome than its own genetic composition. We also identified more than 2.7 million heterozygous single nucleotide polymorphisms in the diploid genome. Our data and analyses provide a foundation for promoting mammalian genetic research, and demonstrate the feasibility for using next-generation sequencing technologies for accurate, cost-effective and rapid de novo assembly of large eukaryotic genomes.

The first polyoxometalate polymer constructed by assembly of the heptamolybdic anion and copper coordination groups

The first example of one-dimensional organic-inorganic polymetallic coordination polymer based on heptamolybdate anions, formulated (NH4)[Cu(en)(2)][Na(en)Cu(en)(2)(H2O)(Mo7O24)].4H(2)O (en = ethylenediamine) (1) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by element analysis, IR, EPR, CV and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of 1 is fabricated by self-assembly of integrated heptamolybdic anions without collapse of primary structure and copper-ethylenediamine(en) coordination groups into one-dimensional zigzag-shaped chains.

Assembly of the transition metal substituted polyoxometalates ZnW11M(H2O)O-39(n-) (M = Mn, Cu, Fe, Co, Cr, Ni, Zn) on 4-aminobenzoic acid modified glassy carbon electrode and their electrochemical study

Through layer-by-layer assembly, a series of undecatungstozincates monosubstituted by first-row transition metals, ZnW11M(H2O)O-39(n-) (M=Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu. or Zn) were first successfully immobilized on a 4-aminobenzoic acid modified glassy carbon electrode surface. The electrochemical behaviors of these polyoxometalates were investigated. They exhibit some special properties in the films different from those in homogeneous aqueous solution. The Cu-centered reaction mechanism in the ZnW11Cu multilayer film was described. The electrocatalytic behaviors of these multilayer film electrodes to the reduction of H2O2 and BrO3- were comparatively studied.

Self-assembly of the pre-formed inclusion complexes between cyclodextrins and alkanethiols on gold electrodes

A new kind of self-assembled monolayer (SAM) formed in aqueous solution through the pre-formed inclusion complexes (abbreviated CD . C-n) between alpha-, beta-cyclodextrins (CDs) and alkanethiols (CH3(CH2)(n-1)SH, n = 10, 14 and 18) was prepared successfully on gold electrodes. High-resolution H-1 NMR was used to confirm the formation of CD . C-n. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry were used to characterize the resulting SAMs (denoted as M-CD . Cn). It was found that M-CD . Cn were more stable against repeated potential cycling in 0.5 M H2SO4 than SAMs of CH3(CH2)(n-1)SH (denoted as M-Cn), with a relative sequence of Mbeta-CD . Cn > Malpha-CD . Cn > M-Cn. In addition, an order of blocking the electron transfer between gold electrodes and redox couples (both Fe(CN)(6)(3-) and Ru(NH3)(6)(3+)) in solution, M-CD . C10 > M-CD . C14 > M-CD . Spontaneous assembly of the inclusion complexes of viologen-attached alkanethiols and alpha-, beta-cyclodestrin on gold electrode

Electroactive self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) with well-defined electrochemical responses were prepared by spontaneous assembly of the inclusion complexes (CD/C8VComegaSH) of viologen-attached alkanethiols (C8VComegaSH) and alpha- and beta-cyclodextrin (CD). They were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The results demonstrate that the chemisorption process of CD/C8VComegaSH on gold substrate occurs through S-Au bonds, and that the redox sites in SAMs of CD/C8VComegaSH are in a much more uniform environment than those in SAMs of C8VComegaSH.

Cambrian mafic to felsic magmatism and its connections with transcurrent shear zones of the Borborema Province (NE Brazil): Implications for the late assembly of the West Gondwana

New U-Pb (SHRIMP) and (40)Ar/(39)Ar isotopic data of igneous rocks and mylonites of the Borborema Province (NE Brazil) show that a wide range of tectonothermal events affected the province during the transition from the Precambrian to the Cambrian. Concordant zircon U-Pb data constrained the crystallization age of mafic stocks, mafic to felsic dikes and granite batholiths between 548 and 533 Ma. These bodies were emplaced in a regional strain field combining extension and dextral shearing. The ductile shear deformation overprinted an older basement fabric to develop a low- to medium metamorphic grade vertical mylonite belt that cut the province in the E-W direction. Magnetic fabrics of the Cambrian batholiths determined by anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility are consistent with syntectonic emplacement. The magmatic pulses and shear deformation would have supplied enough heat to reset the synkinematic micas of mylonites to yield (40)Ar/(39)Ar plateau cooling ages between ca. 550 and 510 Ma. These results provide evidence that emplacement of Early Cambrian mafic and felsic magmas were accompanied by regional-scale shear deformations, probably in the consequence of late collisions along the West Gondwana margin. Examining the cognitive and affective trust-based mechanisms underlying the relationship between ethical leadership and organisational citizenship: A case of the head leading the heart?

In this paper, we investigate the trust-based mechanisms underlying the relationship between ethical leadership and followers' organisational citizenship behaviours (OCBs). Based on three-wave survey data obtained from 184 employees and their supervisors, we find that ethical leadership leads to higher levels of both affective and cognitive trust. In addition, we find support for a three-path mediational model, where cognitive trust and affective trust, in turn, mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and follower OCBs. That is to say, we found that ethical leadership leads to the development of cognitive trust, which subsequently influences the development of affective trust. Affective trust, in turn, induces followers to exhibit OCBs as a means of reciprocating the leader's favourable behaviour. Our findings suggest that both affective and cognitive trust plays an important role in the social exchange processes that underlie the relationship between ethical leadership and the discretionary behaviour of followers. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht.

Coordinated dispersal and pre-isthmian assembly of the Central American ichthyofauna
