Birrarung Marr

Melbourne's new riverside park, Birrarung Marr is located on the north bank of the Yarra, meeting Federation Square at its western end. In design terms it is an important one for both Melbourne and its city centre. It is the first new park in the inner-ring of the city to be built in a hundred years, since Alexandria Gardens, and is also the first major park done by COM since the influential period of designed capital works under the leadership of Rob Adams, at City Projects.

Implementação Java do filtro de Marr e Hildreth para detecção de bordas.

O objetivo desta publicação é apresentar a implementação Java do algoritmo de Marr e Hildreth (Marr & Hildreth, 1980) para a detecção de bordas. O objetivo maior das implementações é a construção de uma biblioteca de processamento de imagens em Java, como software livre, sob a licença GPL (General Public License) conforme publicada pela Free Software Foundation.

Welland Canal Survey of Lands Alem Marr, 1834

Survey map and description of Alem Marr's land created by The Welland Canal Company. Included is a written description of the land along with a drawing of the land. Noteable features include; line between Marr and Shotwell's land, road allowance. The land totals 10 acres, 1 road and 28 perches. The land was first surveyed in 1830, by George Keefer, before the water had risen to it's full head. The red lines on the survey indicate the corrected survey in 1834. Surveyor notes are seen in red pen on the map.

Siguiendo con el debate planteado por Ruíz-Vargas en 'La memoria humana' se estudia el marco teórico de las investigaciones de la psicología cognitiva planteado por David Marr (1982), que divide la memoria humana en tres niveles de explicación: computacional, algorítmico y de implementación. Se debate si estos tres niveles están bien definidos o deberían integrarse y propone que estos niveles no agotan las posibilidades a la hora de analizar la psicología de la memoria y alienta a reactivar la investigación sobre la relación entre memoria y emoción planteando nuevos modelos teóricos.

Marr's vision: twenty-five years on

It is twenty-five years since the posthumous publication of David Marr's book Vision [1]. Only 35 years old when he died, Man, had already dramatically influenced vision research. His book, and the series of papers that preceded it, have had a lasting impact on the way that researchers approach human and computer vision.
