Repensar la enseñanza de la geografía y la historia : una mirada desde el género.

Este libro proporciona pautas y abre posibilidades de trabajo en el aula de geografía e historia. Su objetivo es recuperar protagonismos distintos de los que se suelen ofrecer para ayudar al alumnado a tener una visión de la dinámica social que no dependa exclusivamente de los personajes que ocupan el escenario público. En la primera parte se fundamenta teóricamente la necesidad de abordar la enseñanza de las Ciencias Sociales desde la complejidad para posibilitar una visión menos restringida de la dinámica social y enriquecer dicha perspectiva rescatando la presencia y aportación de las mujeres en el devenir histórico. En la segunda se desarrollan las propuestas para el trabajo en el aula en torno a nueve núcleos temáticos: creación artística, espacio, feminismo, fuentes, género, maternidad, patriarcado, trabajo, sexismo y androcentrismo. En cada voz se hace un repaso de cuál es su presencia actual en el currículum oficial y en los materiales curriculares, se ofrecen otras perspectivas y se plantean actividades alternativas para su trabajo en el aula.

Terutroban versus aspirin in patients with cerebral ischaemic events (PERFORM): a randomised, double-blind, parallel-group trial

Patients with ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA) are at high risk of recurrent stroke or other cardiovascular events. We compared the selective thromboxane-prostaglandin receptor antagonist terutroban with aspirin in the prevention of cerebral and cardiovascular ischaemic events in patients with a recent non-cardioembolic cerebral ischaemic event.

First order thermal phase transition with 126 GeV Higgs mass

We study the strength of the electroweak phase transition in models with two light Higgs doublets and a light SU(3)c triplet by means of lattice simulations in a dimensionally reduced effective theory. In the parameter region considered the transition on the lattice is significantly stronger than indicated by a 2-loop perturbative analysis. Within some ultraviolet uncertainties, the finding applies to MSSM with a Higgs mass mh ≈ 126 GeV and shows that the parameter region useful for electroweak baryogenesis is enlarged. In particular (even though only dedicated analyses can quantify the issue), the tension between LHC constraints after the 7 TeV and 8 TeV runs and frameworks where the electroweak phase transition is driven by light stops, seems to be relaxed.
