Conventional rainfall classification for modelling and prediction is quantity based. This approach can lead to inaccuracies in stormwater quality modelling due to the assignment of stochastic pollutant parameters to a rainfall event. A taxonomy for natural rainfall events in the context of stormwater quality is presented based on an in-depth investigation of the influence of rainfall characteristics on stormwater quality. In the research study, the natural rainfall events were classified into three types based on average rainfall intensity and rainfall duration and the classification was found to be independent of the catchment characteristics. The proposed taxonomy provides an innovative concept in stormwater quality modelling and prediction and will contribute to enhancing treatment design for stormwater quality mitigation.

Here we extend the exploration of significantly super-Chandrasekhar magnetized white dwarfs by numerically computing axisymmetric stationary equilibria of differentially rotating magnetized polytropic compact stars in general relativity (GR), within the ideal magnetohydrodynamic regime. We use a general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic (GRMHD) framework that describes rotating and magnetized axisymmetric white dwarfs, choosing appropriate rotation laws and magnetic field profiles (toroidal and poloidal). The numerical procedure for finding solutions in this framework uses the 3 + 1 formalism of numerical relativity, implemented in the open source XNS code. We construct equilibrium sequences by varying different physical quantities in turn, and highlight the plausible existence of super-Chandrasekhar white dwarfs, with masses in the range of 2-3 solar mass, with central (deep interior) magnetic fields of the order of 10(14) G and differential rotation with surface time periods of about 1-10 s. We note that such white dwarfs are candidates for the progenitors of peculiar, overluminous Type Ia supernovae, to which observational evidence ascribes mass in the range 2.1-2.8 solar mass. We also present some interesting results related to the structure of such white dwarfs, especially the existence of polar hollows in special cases.

The hexahydride complex OsH6(PiPr3)2 (1) activates the C–OMe bond of 1-(2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)-3-methylimidazolium chloride (2), in addition to promoting the direct metalation of the imidazolium group, to afford a five-coordinate OsCl(acyl-NHC)(PiPr3)2 (3) compound. The latter coordinates carbon monoxide, oxygen, and molecular hydrogen to give the corresponding carbonyl (4), dioxygen (5), and dihydrogen (6) derivatives. Complex 3 also promotes the heterolytic bond activation of pinacolborane (HBpin), using the acyl oxygen atom as a pendant Lewis base. The hydride ligand and the Bpin substituent of the Fischer-type carbene of the resulting complex 7 activate the O–H bond of alcohols and water. As a consequence, complex 3 is a metal ligand cooperating catalyst for the generation of molecular hydrogen, by means of both the alcoholysis and hydrolysis of pinacolborane, via the intermediates 7 and 6.
