Diálogo Interreligioso : el problema de su base común

El diálogo entre religiones es una de las tareas más urgentes y necesarias en el mundo contemporáneo, tanto para la búsqueda de la paz mundial como para la construcción de sociedades plurales. Pero esto significa que se una tarea fácil, ni mucho menos que sepamos cómo pueda llevarse a cabo. Dado que las diferentes tradiciones religiosas suelen realizar afirmaciones universales, que se contradicen entre sí, sobre la realidad suprema y el destino y sentido de la vida human, además de que cada una lo hace de acuerdo con sus propios sistemas de argumentación y en concordancia con una visión de mundo que difiere de las demás, es necesario encontrar ciertos puntos comunes a partir de los cuales comunicarse. Este libro es una investigación filosófica sobre el problema de las condiciones de posibilidad para el diálogo entre religiones. Estudia algunas de las principales posturas que al respecto han surgido en la filosofía de la religión contemporánea y a partir de ellas intenta aclarar lo que significa una base común apropiada para el diálogo: una serie de principios comunicativos que, sin pertenecer de suyo a ninguna tradición particular, permitan evaluar, discernir y decidir entre las posturas presentadas en un encuentro comunicativo entre miembros de tradiciones heterogéneas.

Performance of a Nongrouted Thin Bonded PCC Overlay, HR-291, 1992

The use of a thin bonded concrete overlay atop an older surface has been widely incorporated for pavement rehabilitation in Iowa since the early 70's. Two test sections were constructed in 1985 on county road T61 on the Monroe-Wapello County line without the use of grout as a bonding agent to determine if adequate bond could be achieved and structural capacity uncompromised. Both test sections have performed well with one section having higher bond strengths, lower roughness values, higher structural capacity, and less debonding at the joints than the other section. Overall, both ungrouted sections have performed well under substantial truck traffic with minimal surface distress. More attention should be given, however, to rectifying apparent debonding at the joints when no grout is used as a bonding agent.

The Iowa road system has approximately 13,000 miles of Portland Cement Concrete Pavements, many of which are reaching the stage where major rehabilitation is required. Age, greater than anticipated traffic, heavier loads and deterioration related to coarse aggregate in the original pavement are some of the reasons that these pavements have reached this level of distress. One method utilized to rehabilitate distressed or underdesigned PCC pavements is the thin bonded Portland Cement Concrete overlay. Since the introduction of thin bonded overlays on highway pavements in 1973, the concrete paving industry has made progress in reducing the construction costs of this rehabilitation technique. With the advent of the shotblast machine, surface preparation costs have decreased from over $4.00 per square yard to most recently $1.42 per square yard. Other construction costs, including placement, grouting and sawing, have also declined. With each project, knowledge and efficiency have improved.

Coarse grained sample with inclusions of finer grained sediment. Clasts are small to large in size and angular to sub-rounded in shape. Grain crushing is abundant in this sample, and lineations and minor grain stacks can also be seen.

Genotoxic, mutagenic and cytotoxic effects of the commercial dye CI Disperse Blue 291 in the human hepatic cell line HepG2

Textile dyes are discarded into the aquatic ecosystem via industrial effluents and potentially expose humans and local biota to adverse effects. The commercial dye CI Disperse Blue 291 which contains the aminoazobenzene 2-[(2-bromo-4,6-dinitrophenyl)azo]-5(diethylamino)-4-methoxyacetanilide (CAS registry no. 56548-64-2), was tested for genotoxicity and cytotoxicity in the human hepatoma cell line HepG2, using the comet assay, micronucleus (MN) test and a cell viability test. Five different concentrations of the test compound were examined: 200 mu g/ml, 400 mu g/ml, 600 mu g/ml, 800 mu g/ml and 1000 mu g/ml. An increase in comet tail length and in the frequency of MN was detected with exposure of cells to concentrations of the commercial dye from 400 pg/ml. Furthermore, the dye was found to decrease cell viability. The results of this study demonstrate for the first time the genotoxic and mutagenic effects of the dye CI Disperse Blue 291 in mammalian cells, thus stressing the need to develop non-mutagenic dyes and to invest in improving the treatment of effluents. These measures will help to prevent harmful effects that these compounds can have on humans and aquatic organisms that come in contact with them. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
