Kocks' formalism for analysing steady state deformation data for the case where Cottrell-Stokes law is valid is extended to incorporate possible back stresses from solution and/or precipitation hardening, and dependence of pre-exponential factor on the applied stress. A simple graphical procedure for exploiting these equations is demonstrated by analyzing tensile steady state data for a type 316 austentic stainless steel for the temperature range 1023 to 1223 K. In this instance, the computed back stress values turned out to be negative, a physically meaningless result. This shows that for SS 316, deformation in this temperature regime can not be interpreted in terms of a mechanism that obeys Cottrell-Stokes law.

Ternary phase relations in the Co-Cr-S system at 1223 K were determined using microprobe analysis of quenched samples. The results are consistent with the data available on the binary systems. A complete solid solution exists between cobalt monosulfide and chromium monosulfide. The CoCr2S4 thiospinel is the only ternary compound formed. A sulfur potential diagram was constructed for the region involving equilibrium between alloy and monosulfide based on thermodynamic data on the Co-Cr, Co-S, and Cr-S binary systems and the ternary information obtained in this study. The sulfidation behavior of Co-Cr alloys reported in the literature is discussed in light of the sulfur potential diagram.

By using the clinical bond theory of dielectric description, the chemical bond parameters of (Tl.Pb) - 1223 was calculated. The results show that the Sr-O, Tl-O, and Ca-O types of bond have higher ionic character and the Cu-O types of bond have more covalent, character. Mossbauer isomer shifts of Fe-57 and Sn-119 doped in (Tl, Pb) -1223 were calculated by using the chemical environmental factor, h, defined by covalency and electronic polarizability. Four valence state tin and three valence iron sites were identified ill Fe-57, and Sn-119 doped (Tl, Pb) -1223 superconductor. We conclude that all of' the Fe atoms substitute the Cu at square planar Cu (H site, whereas Sn prefers to Substitute the square pyramidal Cu (2) site.

This layer is a georeferenced raster image from the historic paper map series entitled: Lutece ... plan de la ville de Paris ..., par M.L.C.D.L.M. ; A. Coquart, delineavit et sculp. It was published by Jean & Pierre Cot in 1705. The map represents Paris, 1180 to 1223. Map in French. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the European Datum 1950, Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 31N projected coordinate system. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map shows features such as drainage, towns and villages, roads, built-up areas and selected buildings, fortification, ground cover, and more. Relief shown by hachures. Includes index. This layer is part of a selection of digitally scanned and georeferenced historic maps from the Harvard Map Collection. These maps typically portray both natural and manmade features. The selection represents a range of originators, ground condition dates, scales, and map purposes.
